Super economic car, great on gas mileage, reliable, and low maintenance. 122,600 mi. Very clean import car! GREAT mileage of 30-32 mpg in town, sometimes up to 35 on interstate. New filters, new battery, fluids replaced, new tires, all within the last year. This would be an awesome car for anybody, for example for someone who is commuting and wants to get great mileage. Very few passengers in the backseat, so backseat seating is like new. Owner of car was a super nice young woman that took great pride in this car - "Paula". Not a smoker and not a pet owner. Minor wear and tear here and there, but this car is in great body condition and excellent mechanical condition overall. This 2003 Honda Civic was purchased new from the lot by current and only owner. It did have some hail damage from the lot at the time. This occurred at the dealership parking lot before it was purchased by owner, though. Since it was purchased, two minor incidents on record: Someone bumped into the front driver's side once and another hit the back side once, but both of these got completely fixed. Neither affected the mechanics of the car. Recently, somebody dinged a panel on the front driver's side (see pictures) - this could easily be fixed. Engine and airbag lights stay on - took it to the dealership and had it checked, they said car was fine and this was a common nonissue. Always maintained and well taken care of, including regular filter and oil changes every 3000 mi. Always kept inside the garage.

Honda reveals three new turbo VTEC engines, including Civic Type R 2.0L
Tue, 19 Nov 2013It's fair to say that in recent years, Honda has been viewed as a laggard when it comes to engine and gearbox development, seemingly missing the boat on direct-injection, forced-induction and high gear-count transmissions, among other things. But under its Earth Dreams banner, the Japanese automaker is showing new vigor, with the latest proof being this trio of just-announced powerplants.
Measuring 1.0-liters, 1.5-liters and 2.0-liters in displacement, this array of three- and four-cylinder engines boasts turbocharging and direct-injection along with the latest iteration of Honda's famed VTEC variable valve timing hardware. "Most suitable for small-to-medium-sized vehicles," the largest engine is said to be good for more than 276 horsepower and will slot into the eagerly awaited Civic Type R, iconic red valve cover and all.
Unfortunately, few other details about the hot Civic's engine or any of the others are being made public at this time, and there's no official word about the engines coming to North American in the Type R or any other model. Given that all the engines are complaint with stringent Euro 6 emissions standards, they figure to be clean enough, and Honda says that these have been developed as global powerplants, so we'd be shocked if they didn't come ashore in new or updated products over the next few years... even if they leave the CTR on the boat.
Honda gunning for world's longest Rose Parade float
Thu, 26 Dec 2013Honda has participated in the annual Rose Parade for the past 53 years and returns this year as the presenting sponsor for the fourth time running. But it's not satisfied merely putting its name on the event; Honda intends to lead from the front with what promises to be the longest float in the parade's long history.
The float, previewed in the rendering above, will measure 274 feet long, as tall as 30 feet high, as wide as 18 feet and weighing a whopping 50 tons with 8,980 flowers covering its surface. The train will be led by a locomotive designed to mimic the Acura NSX, with Asimo at the wheel. The second car in the train showcases a Honda engine, followed by a robotic arm, and, for the first time in the parade's history, a pair of 30-foot LED monitors displaying images of spectators lining the parade route. A caboose inspired by the Honda Jet will pick up the rear.
Oh, and in case you're wondering just who Honda will be knocking off the record books with its 274-foot train of roses, that would be... also Honda. The Japanese company set the record in 2005 with a 207-foot float. Scope out the details in the press release below and click the image above to view in high resolution.
2015 Honda Civic Type-R benchmarks the cream of the hot hatch crop
Tue, 13 Aug 2013Honda has something wicked up its sleeve, based on the latest batch of spy photos we've received. This is purportedly the next Honda Civic Type-R, out testing in Germany and on the Nürburgring. The last generation of the Type-R went out of production in Europe in 2010, and while we admired it from afar, it's 2.0-liter, four-cylinder produced similar figures to the American-market Honda Civic Si.
From the looks of both it and the cars Honda engineers are benchmarking, the next Type-R will be much more powerful. In the spy photos, we can see four meaty exhaust pipes along with what is quite clearly an intercooler hiding behind the rear bumper. That's right, the next Type-R will be turbocharged. It'll need to be, though, if it's meant to tackle cars like the Opel Astra OPC, Ford Focus RS500 and Renault Megane RS Trophy (not pictured, but there according to our spies).
300 horsepower from a 2.0-liter engine should be on offer, and would match the competition quite well. Other obvious tweaks from the ho-hum five-door Civic are mainly aerodynamic. It sports an aggressive body kit with a meaty chin spoiler, rocker panels and a big rear wing. Red Brembo brake calipers can also be seen behind the sporty wheels and low-profile tires.
