2000 Honda Civic Si on 2040-cars
Waldorf, Maryland, United States
Up for sale is my 2000 honda civic si with 160,000 miles. My best friend built the car for import alliance(tennessee) in 2009 and after the event it was parked in the garage where its been ever since for the most part(lost interest). I bought the car because I hated to see it go but I'm not in the honda game too much anymore so I'm just testing the waters on the sale. The car was bought from the original owner and has the following modifications that are currently done to the car - 16x7 +33 Work rsz-r wheel, work wheels aluminum lug nuts red, honda s2000 front brake conversion or in other words factory big brake upgrade, Buddy Club Suspension, Rsx rear brakes, ASR sub aluminum frame brace and Function form control arms, civic type-r front and rear sway bars, Toda header, Hi flow cat, T1R exhaust, complete comptech ice box, custom head lights with factory g35 HID projectors and ballast, jdm window visors, fog lights, the car also comes with a track bumper with a beat up carbon fiber lip with no fogs and rear bumper with a euro fog light that is wired into the cruise control when its installed, mugen rear wing, memory fab racing seats, takata harnesses, quick release for steering wheel, and sparco harness bar.
The car also comes with everything that follows not installed - integra type r B18c5 bottom end, B16 head (ported and polished, 3 angle valve job, ferrea flat valves to raise compression, bronze valve guides, supertech valve springs and retainers), USDM integra type r transmission, stage 2 six puck clutch, ACT light weight fly wheel, b16 harness with each connector individually wraped, P28 ecu with Hondata s200, intake manifold, Toda cam gears, Toda timing belt, Toda spec B cam shafts, Mugen head gasket, stock B16 cams and valve train, brand new integra type r valve cover, ARP head bolts, ARP rod bolts 2 different sets, RC 310 injectors, custom floor cover for the back when the rear seats are taken out made out of thin wood and covered in suede. All of the parts for the motor were chosen to make 210whp back in 2009 with AC but was never assembled and just sat in the garage in boxes since 2009. The over all condition of the body is in great shape just your usual rock chips from driving on the front and lower doors. Just behind the drivers tail light is a small almost unrecognizable dent from when my friend backed into my other friend at a light and it pushed the light surround in a little which can be pulled out without any painting which I might fix before sale. I took a small loan out for the car so the car has a lien but if the car is purchased the funds will be sent to USAA and it will be paid off and the title will be ready when the car is picked up by the buyer. Overall its a great car and a fun car to drive and has a ton more potential if its completed with the parts that it comes with I'm just not that interested in it anymore and if the car doesn't sale it will probably still sit under a car cover in my garage until I need room for another project. I calculated about $18,000.00 worth of parts including the car and a lot of the parts are hard to find or no longer available. The car also comes with the stock parts( steering wheel and air bag, passenger air bag, exhaust manifold, intake, front and rear brakes, wheels with great tires, and front seats) The car is being sold as is and the buyer is responsible for delivery. Thanks for looking. |

Newest version of Honda's ASIMO coming to TV on April 15
Mon, 07 Apr 2014Honda's ASIMO robot is moving into its teenage years, having originally been introduced in 2000, and like all teens, it's still learning. The bot has received regular incremental upgrades over that time, and the latest version will premiere on LIVE with Kelly and Michael on Tuesday, April 15.
The newest enhancements provide ASIMO with improved hand dexterity, the ability to use sign language, run faster, climb stars more smoothly, balance on one foot, jump and more. Honda says other new features will be demonstrated with hosts Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan on the show.
The ongoing development of ASIMO, which stands for Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility, is being done so that one day it can help humans who require assistance. The current version is 4-feet, 3-inches tall, weighs 110 pounds and is made mostly from magnesium alloy and plastic. A big limit is still its lithium-ion battery that only provides 40 minutes of charge. The robot has not needed human control to move since a previous iteration in 2011, which also improved its manual dexterity. It could even pour drinks.
2013 Honda Civic
Thu, 21 Feb 2013Lather, Rinse, Repeat
On some level, it's hard to blame Honda for the strategy it took with its new-for-2012 Civic. Executives looked at the key players on the market as the model was being developed, soaked in the growing global economic malaise, and decided that if they wanted to make decent money on their small car, they'd have to find creative ways to take cost out of its build. In light of the financial crisis, consumers and critics would surely understand some belt-tightening in order to secure the company's legendary reliability, resale value and ease-of-use, right?
So Honda took a pass on expensive new technology - more complex transmissions, forced induction, active aero, and so on. And it also substituted in some cheaper interior materials, skimped on sound deadening, creature comforts and found lots of little ways to save money. Surely in a segment where the frankly ancient and moth-eaten Toyota Corolla has consistently ranked among the sales leaders, nobody would care, eh?
Honda previews next-gen JDM Odyssey minivan
Mon, 30 Sep 2013Some automakers market the same cars around the world, while others offer different models - even under the same nameplate - for different markets. We're thinking of cars like the Volkswagen Passat or the previous Mazda6. Honda's been known to do so as well, with models like the Accord and Odyssey, which are completely different in North America than they are in other parts of the world.
Now Honda has provided the first glimpse at the Odyssey minivan it offers for the Japanese Domestic Market (as well as Europe and other parts of the world). Though more compact than the US-market version, the new overseas Odyssey appears larger than the model it replaces, with a taller roofline increasing interior space.
Though Honda hasn't released the model's full specifications, power is expected to come from a 2.4-liter inline-four mated to a continuously variable transmission. Beyond that, buyers will likely be able to choose between front- and all-wheel drive, two cabin layouts, two interior colors and seven or more exterior paints. The images also point towards blind-spot and auto-braking systems and an apparent eco mode. Although unconfirmed, we expect to see the new JDM Odyssey make its debut at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show.
