this civic si is in good condition inside and out Minus the Damage.  There is no frame damage, can be used for racing but not public street use, no title is available for registration, branded title.

this is a all numbers matching car, never been stolen.  I purchased this car then pulled the motor and rebuilt it, it was totaled three week later and only 2 days after installing the engine.

The engine was not in need of a rebuild.  I was going to do the timing belt, clutch ect......so I pulled the motor.  One thing led to another and "while im doing it might as well"  kinda thing I pulled the engine apart and rebuilt it.  All oem parts were used, totaling over 2k dollars in parts.  124 miles later it was totaled.

This is the majority of parts replaced with receipts to prove parts list, may forget some but here is a good list of all parts replaced.

All OEM new from Honda

main bearings

rod bearings

thrust bearings

piston rings

complete gasket set

type r oil pump

spark plugs

dist cap

4 new tires (kumho)

new rear brake pads

old parts on the car are

eibach prokit springs

dc ceramic header

aem cold air intake

mugan exhaust

everything works and all parts are on the car still, not torn apart

has aftermarket door and rear speakers and pioneer double din radio other than that stock interior.  Headliner is clean no rips marks ect......seats are clean, all plastics are there and great shape.  Transmission shifts good no grinds and no pop outs.  I planned on keeping this car for a while is why I spent so much money on making it nice, plus it was an si that did not have a salvage or theft title.  no title now :(    I only had this car three weeks, my loss your gain.  Car starts and drives until it warms up, there is a small hole in the aluminum radiator, can probly weld.

Car is listed for local sale so I reserve the right to end auction at anytime.  If interested in the car I will sell for 2750.00.  That is the reserve.

this auction is for the whole car, not just the engine swap!

On Jun-17-13 at 08:17:20 PDT, seller added the following information:

The car does run after its warm, the statement  is ment to mean I wont let it continue to run and let it overheat since the radiator has a small leak.  You can drive it up on a trailer ect......this car would be perfect for a full SI conversion.  Just a engine swap without all the maintenace items cost more than the asking price for the whole car.

On Jun-17-13 at 11:53:49 PDT, seller added the following information:

The papers i just received from insurance states the car cannot be registered in Florida but does not say anything about other states so I assume you could fix it and have a salvage title in another state.  Check your local laws to be sure!  The frame is not bent neither is the front core support or bumper reinforcment. All damage was above the bumper.  Airbags did not deploy.  Needs new radiator support, left headlamp, left fender, hood, bumper cover, lip spoiler, grill, ps fill hose (not pressure hose), radiator, and ac condensor.

Foreign automakers pay from $38 to $65 per hour to non-union workers

Sun, Mar 29 2015

As leaders for the United Auto Workers gather in Detroit for their Special Convention on Collective Bargaining to work out the negotiating stance for this year's new labor agreements with the Detroit 3 automakers, what they most want to do is figure out how to eliminate the two-tier wage scale. However, the lower Tier 2 wage has allowed the domestic automakers to reduce their labor costs, hire more workers, and compete better with their import competition. As it stands, per-hour labor rates including benefits are $58 at General Motors, $57 at Ford, and $48 at Fiat-Chrysler – a reflection of FCA's much greater number of Tier 2 workers. The Center for Automotive Research released a study of labor rates (including benefits) that put numbers to what the imports pay: Mercedes-Benz pays the most, at an average of $65 per hour, Volkswagen pays the least, at $38 per hour, and BMW is just a hair above that at $39 per hour. Among the Detroit competitors, Honda workers earn an average of $49 per hour, at Toyota it's $48 per hour, Nissan is $42 per hour, and Hyundai-Kia pays $41 per hour. The lower import wages are aided by their greater use of temporary workers compared to the domestics. Automotive News says the ten-dollar gap between those foreign camakers and the domestics turns out to about an extra $250 per car in labor, which adds up quickly when you're pumping out many millions of cars. That $250-per-car number is one that, come negotiating time, the Detroit 3 will want to reduce, as the UAW is trying to raise both Tier 1 and Tier 2 wages. Another wrinkle is that the domestic carmakers are considering the wide adoption of a third wage level lower than Tier 2. Some workers who do minor tasks like assembling parts trays kits and battery packs already make less than Tier 2, but the UAW will be quite wary about cementing yet another wage scale at the bottom of the system while it's trying to fight a bigger battle at the top. Boston woman's car finally free from 100 inches of snow

Thu, Mar 19 2015

It's a car owner's worst winter nightmare: Snowfall so heavy that you can't dig your vehicle out of it. That's exactly what happened to Jillian Tenen, whose 2007 Honda Civic was buried in the snow in Boston for seven weeks after historic winter storms. Tenen's car was initially stuck after a snowfall in late January, but she didn't dig it out because she had the flu. "I'm 5' 2," and it was all ice, an iceberg on top of my car," she told the Boston Globe. "I couldn't reach it. I couldn't lift it. And even if I could, there was nowhere to put it. I just didn't know what to do," she said. Tenen reached out for help to the city, her insurance company and a tow truck company, but they refused to help her. Finally when the weather warmed up, Tenen used an ice chopper to get into her car. The windshield was damaged, however, the car started on its own. "If I had to do it again, I would definitely do one thing differently... I would not park on the corner," Tenen said.

2015 Honda Fit production gets underway in Mexico

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

After two years of construction, Honda's new factory in Celaya, Mexico, has officially begun production of the all-new 2015 Fit in North America. Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto and Honda President and CEO Takanobu Ito both attended the opening and watched the first Fit roll off the line at the $800-million plant. Later this year, Honda will add production of its new Vezel small crossover to the new facility, though the latter is expected to be marketed in North America under a new name.
The Celaya factory will specialize in building subcompact cars by employing cutting-edge tech to use less material and less energy during production. Honda is still constructing a $470-million transmission plant on the campus to build continuously variable transmissions in the second half of 2015. When it's finished, it is expected to have an annual capacity of 200,000 vehicles and employ 3,200 people.
With the facility's completion, Honda now has a 1.92-million unit annual production capacity in North America, and it claims that when Celaya reaches full production, 95-percent of vehicles sold in the US will be built in North America. The new Fit has already proven quite popular in Japan, and now we will have to wait and see if North American buyers embrace it as well. The first new Fit customer cars will hit the roads later this spring, and as Honda spokesman Steve Kinkade tells Autoblog, all Fit models sold in North American will be built at the plant. Scroll down to read the full press release about the Fit and its new Mexican home.
