Up For Auction is a 1998 Honda Civic DX. The Car has 129,308 Miles on it, and is still being used as a Daily Driver. Last Oil Change was the the Second week of March. Ever since my wife and I have owned the car, we have had the oil changed every 3,000 Miles using Havoline 10 W-30 Motor Oil. Car does not use or ( burn any oil ) As stated in the Title, the car DOES have a CLEAN REBUILT KENTUCKY TITLE, which means that it was in an Accident, but was REBUILT by a Professional Mechanic. I took pictures of any DAMAGE that I could possibly think of, but I'll List it and to the very best of my knowledge. The Car Runs Great first of all, The car is Missing the Catalytic Converter which in the State of Kentucky is Legal, but in many other states, it would not pass inspection without it. The Car also has some minor Left front end damage to the Bumper and about a golf ball size hole in the grill right next to the left headlight. This happened because I had a lady back into the front of the car, and being that the damage was minor, my wife and I continued to drive it. There was or is NO DAMAGE to the radiator or engine whatsoever due to that accident. ( Damage shown in Pictures ) The top of the trunk has some minor paint that is starting to peel away, but nothing a good shade tree mechanic couldn't Buff out or if you want it to look like new, for a few hundred dollars do a little sanding and a touch up paint job. The same thing goes for the top of the car, but it's not near as bad. There's ONE spot of light rust next to the Sunroof, but the sunroof does Not leak yet, but if the damage is not fixed soon, it MIGHT. Just letting everybody know ALL of the details that i'm aware of, so hang in there with me. The sunroof is a POWER SUNROOF (Factory), and that's the only Power options there is on the car. Everything else on the car is MANUAL, including a 5 Speed MANUAL TRANSMISSION which is Very Smooth. I had a NEW timing belt put on the car when it had roughly 98,000 miles. That's not an EXACT number, but It's Very Close. The car also has recently been Tuned Up with New Plugs and Plug Wires. I had 4 Brand New Tires put on the car, and I can't remember how long ago that was, but I do Know the Rear Tires have roughly 85% to 90% tread still left on them and are in great shape. The two FRONT TIRES will need replacing Soon. ( The car is Front Wheel Drive and The Tires Wear much Faster for that Reason ) but they're still good for another 5,000 to 10,000 miles, but I would recommend having the two on the back Rotated to the front and the two on the front rotated to the back, or... AS A SPECIAL BONUS, IF YOU CHOOSE THE " BUY IT NOW " OPTION, I'LL PUT TWO BRAND NEW TIRES ON THE FRONT OF THE CAR AND PAY FOR THEM MYSELF. The car has the FACTORY OEM Spare Tire and Jack, One very important thing I want to add, This goes along with the Catalytic Converter. As I was driving to work before I became Disabled, the Muffler was already Rusted out, and The Entire Muffler fell off the road as I was going down the interstate. No damage was done underneath the car, but the Car will also need a new Muffler, and Yes it is LOUD for that reason, so that is when the " CHECK ENGINE " light came on. Once the car gets a new Muffler System, if you're a mechanic, you'll know what i'm talking about, you can simply unplug the wires to the Battery and Plug them back up and the light will go off. ( That's the easy way ) or if you want to pay a mechanic a lot of extra money to plug the computer up to the car and RESET the computer to make the light go off, that will work as well. I'll leave that choice up to the winning Bidder. The Car has a Factory Honda 6 Disc Cd Player located in the trunk ( Also Pictured ) Spring time's coming and won't be long till Summer time, so the Air Conditioner has been fully charged and works GREAT. It'll frost the windows up now. The Heater also blows out very Hot air and works great. The radio works, but don't pick up a LOT of stations out here in the country, but when we've driven the car to Nashville for instance which is just about 1 and a half hours south of Where we live, the radio picks up a lot more stations. Remember folks, this car is a 1998 model, so it's 15 years old, and running strong so far with no problems. The passenger side door needs a new handle to roll the window up and down. I tried to roll it down during a couple of years ago in the winter time, and the window was froze shut, so I broke it. That was my fault, but the passenger side window has stayed up since then, because I didn't want to try and used what I call the ( redneck way of rolling down a window and use a set of vice scrips ) I didn't want to damage the threads so, the handle can be purchased for $5.00 or less at your local hardware store. I had a stroke, or I would have already fixed the little things on the car. I'm trying to think of any other damage... Oh yeah, the DRIVER'S SIDE mirror is also Missing due to that same accident where the lady backed in to the car and damaged the bumper. She pulled up and backed up so we could exchange insurance, and then she knocked the MIRROR off. That was a long day to say the least, but nobody was hurt. That was the main thing, and then back to the CAR, there was no MAJOR damage. As I said earlier in the listing, the car is being driven every day as a daily driver. ( Mostly by my wife since I had the stroke ) and that's just a short trip to take me to the doctor and back, so the Mileage will not be the same as it is shown in the pictures since it is still being driven. Horn works great, the car has the very reliable 1,6 liter super overhead cam engine in it, and the car is also for sale locally here in Kentucky as well as on Craigslist in the Nashville, Tennessee and Bowling Green, Kentucky Areas. As far as payment if the car is sold, I will accept Cash in hand, or a Bank Certified Cashier's Check ONLY !! NO PERSONAL CHECKS OR ANY OTHER METHOD OF PAYMENT ! Thank you for understanding. The Clutch is in good condition, all of the fluids ( anti-freeze, windshield washer fluid, brake fluid, transmission fluid, and motor oil ) have all been changed. Radiator has also been Flushed before winter time this year around the last of October. All Lights on the car work, both High Beam and Low Beam, Brake lights, Tail Lights, interior Dome Light, Dash Lights, Dimmer switch, ALL WORK. The car also has Cruise Control, and has recently has new windshield wiper blades put on it as well. We had a new Air Filter put in the car during the last oil change which was the second week in march. The car has NEVER been Smoked in since my wife and I have had it, and I've not seen any evidence of past smokers where there would be holes in the carpet or interior due to Ashes from cigarettes. For a few hundred dollars, the right person can have this car looking like brand new. It already looks good, even though it DOES HAVE A CLEAN REBUILT TITLE, AND I STRESS THE WORD CLEAN, BECAUSE IT DID PASS KENTUCKY INSPECTION, AND WOULD AGAIN, IF ANYONE IN THE STATE OF KENTUCKY NEEDS TO HAVE IT INSPECTED. The carpet in the trunk above the spare tire is in Great Shape and has plenty of room. Back before I had the stroke, I drove this car to Nashville where I worked 2 hours each way to work, and it ran like a top, just like it does now. One BIG thing I need to add. THERE HAS BEEN ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ADDED TO THE CAR WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A SET OF CUSTOM ALUMINUM LOW PROFILE 16" WHEELS ( ALSO PICTURED) Everything else is Completely Factory on this car. The car has not been driven at high R.P.M's and we have taken very good care of the car, we just need to sale it due to the fact i'm out of work, and I have to find another one cheaper. ( I WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY TRADES OF ANY KIND SO DON'T ASK ) I think that pretty well covers it. Car would make a GREAT Starter car for a High School Student or College Student, or if you're an adult looking for a car that gets EXCELLENT gas mileage, the car gets on Average 30 to 35 miles per gallon on the interstate or on long trips, and in stop and go traffic it will still get around 25 to 28 miles per gallon, and with gas at $5.00 a gallon here where we live, I KNOW it's MUCH more expensive where others live. As a Former Truck Driver, and even before I started trucking before I had the stroke, I always was Taught The golden rule when it comes to a car or anything else... " If you treat a car good, then it will treat you good back in return. " and that's Very true, because this car has been Very Good to us and Very Dependable. Well, I guess that's it. Time to Load up all of the pictures. I WANT TO STRESS THIS " IF Y'ALL HAVE ANY QUESTIONS WHATSOEVER, PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO ASK. IF YOU NEED THE CAR DELIVERED TO YOU, I CAN ARRANGE FOR THAT ALSO, BUT PLEASE NOTE *** ANY EXPENSES INCLUDING THE DELIVERING OF THE CAR, OR IF YOU WANT A CERTIFIED MECHANIC TO HAVE THE CAR CHECKED OUT BEFORE YOU BUY IT, ANYTHING AT ALL BESIDES WHAT I PAY FOR THE LISTING FEES ON THE CAR OR IF I HAVE TO PUT NEW TIRES ON IT IF YOU HIT THE " BUY IT NOW " BUTTON, ANY OTHER EXPENSES ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE " BUYER " AND NOT ME THE " SELLER. " JUST WANTED TO MAKE MYSELF CLEAR. I'VE LISTED THIS CAR TO THE VERY BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE, AND ONCE THE CAR LEAVES MY DRIVEWAY IF OR WHEN SOMEONE BUYS IT, AND I SIGN THE TITLE OVER INTO YOUR NAME, THEN IT IS NO LONGER MY RESPONSIBILITY NOR MY WIFE'S. IT BELONGS TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER. I ALSO RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL THE AUCTION IF SOMEONE SHOWS UP AND GIVES ME CASH IN HAND OR A CERTIFIED BANK CHECK LOCALLY AS THE CAR IS FOR SALE ON CRAIGSLIST AND I'M PUTTING A FOR FOR SALE SIGN IN THE BACK WINDOW TONIGHT. FORGIVE ME FOR USING CAPITAL LETTERS, BUT I WANT TO BE CLEAR ON EVERYTHING I'VE LISTED. Thank you all for taking the time to read this auction, and good luck to the winning bidder. ALL SALES ARE FINAL AND I HAVE LISTED THIS CAR TO THE VERY BEST OF MY ABILITIES !! Y'all Have A Great Easter, And God Bless Each And every one of you and your Families ! **** A $500 DOWN PAYMENT IS DUE WITHIN 24 DAYS OF THE END OF THE AUCTION BY PAYPAL. PAYPAL IS ALSO MY " PREFERRED METHOD OF BEING PAID IF POSSIBLE " THANK YOU !

Average transaction prices climb to a record $36,270 in January
Sat, Feb 3 2018The automotive sector made a hash of the numbers last month, a mess of pluses and minuses clogging the transaction-price charts according to Kelley Blue Book. The overall industry rose one percent, even though buyers bought fewer cars and light vehicles in January 2018 vs 2017 using the selling-day adjusted rate. Due to January transaction prices rising to $36,270, a record for January, the value of new vehicles sold climbed more than $1 billion compared to January 2017. KBB's transaction prices don't include customer incentives, which changes the complexion slightly; average incentive spending rose to just over ten percent. The average transaction price in December 2017 was $36,756, so January dropped a bit - nothing unexpected, with the month annually blamed for "January doldrums." More revealing is the fact that the average transaction price in January 2017 was $34,910. This year's plumped-up figure came courtesy of the continued shift to crossovers, SUVs, and light trucks, which shouldn't surprise anyone who's read an automotive blog in the past 20 years. That category comprised nearly 70 percent of new vehicle sales for the month. Some manufacturers profited more than others, though. Fiat Chrysler managed 12.8 percent fewer sales in January compared year-on-year, but the company's vehicles sold for $1,300 more. The Ford brand suffered a 6.3-percent dip in sales, but brand transaction prices increased $2,000, while a Lincoln sold for $8,700 more on average. General Motors sold more cars and sold them for more money; overall GM transaction prices rose four percent, or $1,270, while a GMC traded hands for seven-percent more than in January 2017 and a Cadillac got $2,300 more on average. Of KBB's listed automakers, the Volkswagen Group got the most of out its customers, transaction prices rising at the German automaker by 5.6 percent to $42,243 in January 2018 compared to a year earlier. American Honda followed with a 4.3-percent increase to $28,991, GM in third at 4.1 percent to $40,313. Find your next car at Autoblog using our new and used car listings or the Car Finder tool. Broken out by segment, minivans rocked the table, transaction prices leaping by 7.9 percent to $35,380 compared to January a year earlier. Luxury cars boasted the next-highest rise, at 3.6 percent to $58,533.
Leno meets the nicest people on his bored-out Honda CB750
Tue, 08 Jul 2014Jay Leno's Garage is back to its tried-and-true formula this week with Jay taking a close look at a seriously cool vehicle with a guest. This time he invites in Adam Gaspic from Gasser Custom to take a look at a highly customized 1975 Honda CB750.
The bike is really an amalgam of styles from different eras and various Honda parts. Its looks are inspired by '50s hot rods with its white-wall tires and satin, metallic fuel tank, but there is a little British café racer in there, as well. A digital instrument panel and LED turn signals lend an air of modernity to it, too. Mechanically, the bike rides on a modified '75 frame with the front and rear suspension from an '80s Honda. However, the pièce de résistance is its engine, bored out to 836cc with additional head work and a custom exhaust.
Once on the road, the bike really sings. It sounds just the way a classic Japanese motorcycle should with a mix of whine at high-revs with rumble down low. A cycle that mixes this many styles should probably be a mess, but this fuses it all together perfectly. Scroll down to take a look at this motorcycle mixing classic and modern in Jay Leno's Garage.
Honda pulling plug on slow-selling Insight hybrid
Wed, 26 Feb 2014
Insight hasn't amounted to even a tenth of Prius sales, and well over half of those sold were JDM.
It's been a rough ride for the Honda Insight, and now its journey appears to be at an end - word is that the five-door hybrid hatchback is going out of production.
