Up for auction is a 1996 Honda Civic 4 door sedan 4 cylinder automatic under 100K miles (I believe it is 97000 + or -). I am selling this car on behalf of someone who is an older women and is the original owner. They have provided me the best information possible about the vehicle as I describe below. Please note I am not a mechanic or pretend to be one..I will give you my honest description and after I test drove the car the other day, I feel it is a reliable vehicle in fair to good condition vehicle which the car needs repairs and would be best suited for an individual who can repair the car to save money. I truthfully did not feel any tranny problems or engine just a loud muffler sound. On the engine pictured below you will see on the silver honda cover with the wires which has black dirt. I took a paper towel in a small are to see if it comes off as you can tell it does. The engine is dirty for an 18 year old car, needs an engine cleaning if it bothers you but has no impact to the engine...runs good. I personally wanted to give it the worst value possible because I do not want any problems with anyone. I am using the Blue Kelly Book Fair value and the definition by fair condition is that this is an
"as is" value that does not include any warranties. Has cosmetic
defects that require repairing and/or replacing. Requires some mechanical
repairs. The paint and bodywork may require refinishing and body repair. The
body has dents, chips, and/or scratches. The interior has substantial wear, and
may have small tears. Needs servicing, but is still in reasonable running
condition with a clean title history I will be honest in providing to the best of my knowledge and ability the car information to make your decision and I feel the car is worth more than the 2K. The car in January14 passed NJ rigorous inspection and there should be no problems with emission. The distributor was recently replaced which I will provide as proof and It cost $484.00. The tires seem relatively new. I really like to see the car go to someone who need a vehicle at a great price. The person was told that the muffler needs to be replaced, the front CV boots or joint eventually have to be replaced., It sounds like a new starter will be needed eventually, the power windows and locks do not function at this time ( can be a fuse??? not sure)), Driver side armrest is loose see photo, AC does not work but the heat does ( AC might need feon????), they stated there is water leak and is not sure from where it is coming from, the paint on top and the whole trunck of the vehicle is discolored along with some other areas see photo, I guess because the car was not garage keep, the are Chips Dings SCRATCHES, I am sure there some other stuff that I did not describe but I did not do it intentionally. Please contact me with any questions. The car is not a show car but will get you to point A to point B. Very good vehicle for gas mileage and if repairs are made and maintained this will still go and you will get your money back due to the low mileage. There have been cars with 200-300K mileage selling at a relatively higher price. I feel you will not be disappointed in the vehicle. The car has not had major repairs and the Honda name alone is reliable vehicles. I reserve the right to refund your money in full if the car has already been sold, traded in or any unforeseen problems that s not under my control. If you are the winning bidder, you must contact and pay immediately at auction end . Again, In the event that the vehicle is sold prior or anything else to auction end, and we fail to cancel the auction before auction end, the winning bidder agrees to not leave negative feedback or pursue any legal actions towards us as the seller. The buyer will be responsible to pay the sellers legal fees or any other expenses required for this auction or if any action is required or taken. I will make every attempt to end this auction if it is no longer available for sale before the auction ends. Deposits are non refundable if you back out of the deal. PLEASE NOTE : If you do not intend to follow through with purchasing this vehicle at auction end, PLEASE DO NOT BID! Please be a respectful eBayer and allow another person that is interested in the vehicle to buy it. Thank you |

Red Bull may seek engines from Ferrari after Mercedes snub
Thu, Sep 10 2015Red Bull and Renault's fractured relationship is pushing the Austrian F1 team to find a new engine provider. But after a trip across the German border to chat with Mercedes-Benz proved fruitless, the team is apparently set to head across its home country's southern border, and into Italy. Yep, Red Bull Ferrari could be a thing next season. According to RBR boss Christian Horner, the company is just doing "necessary due diligence" in contacting other engine suppliers, although he's willfully admitted to Germany's Bild newspaper that the "idea of Mercedes is finished," BBC Sport reports. It wasn't so much that Mercedes and Red Bull couldn't come to financial agreement – Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz views throwing money into F1 in much the same way you or I toss pennies into the mall fountain – but rather that the Germans had no interest in supplying the best engines on the grid to the factory team's perennial rival. BBC Sport seems to think that fact, along with what the outlet calls Red Bull's "antagonistic" relationship with engine suppliers, killed the Mercedes deal. Honda and RBR aren't likely to happen either, thanks to McLaren (not that we think Red Bull would approach the Japanese, which have struggled mightily all season long). By process of elimination, that just leaves Ferrari. Scuderia Ferrari Team Principal Maurizio Arrivabene confirmed that his team can accommodate Red Bull's engine needs, and that he wasn't concerned with the idea of a Ferrari engine in an Adrian Newey-designed body. "In theory they have big names, with Newey as chief designer and it is easy to think that if you give them the engine they will build a scary chassis, which means they will be really competitive," Arrivabene told BBC Sport. "Concerning my team, my engineers and aerodynamicists know their own jobs. For that reason I don't have a problem, and competition is nice when you have a stronger competitor." "This doesn't mean tomorrow morning we will give our engines to Red Bull or Toro Rosso," Arrivabene added. And it's that statement we'd suggest remembering. There are, after all, still seven races left in the 2015 season, which is quite a lot of time for new and different developments within the sport's notoriously gruesome political process. In other words, don't count on an announcement from any team or manufacturer for at least a few more races. Related Video:
Consumer Reports no longer recommends Honda Civic
Mon, Oct 24 2016Consumer Reports annual Car Reliability Survey is out, and yes, there are some big surprises. First and foremost? The venerable publication no longer recommends the Honda Civic. In fact, aside from the walking-dead CR-Z and limited-release Clarity fuel-cell car, the Civic is the only Honda to miss out on CR's prestigious nod. At the opposite end there's a surprise as well – Toyota and Lexus remain the most reliable brands on the market, but Buick cracked the top three. That's up from seventh last year, and the first time for an American brand to stand on the Consumer Reports podium. Mazda's entire lineup earned Recommended checks as well. Consumer Reports dinged the Civic for its "infuriating" touch-screen radio, lack of driver lumbar adjustability, the limited selection of cars on dealer lots fitted with Honda's popular Sensing system, and the company's decision to offer LaneWatch instead of a full-tilt blind-spot monitoring system. Its score? A lowly 58. The Civic isn't the only surprise drop from CR's Recommended ranks. The Audi A3, Ford F-150, Subaru WRX/STI, and Volkswagen Jetta, GTI, and Passat all lost the Consumer Reports' checkmark. On the flipside, a number of popular vehicles graduated to the Recommended ranks, including the BMW X5, Chevrolet Camaro, Corvette, and Cruze, Hyundai Santa Fe, Porsche Macan, and Tesla Model S. Perhaps the biggest surprise is the hilariously recall-prone Ford Escape getting a Recommended check – considering the popularity of Ford's small crossover, this is likely a coup for the brand, as it puts the Escape on a level playing field with the Recommended Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Nissan Rogue. While Ford is probably happy to see CR promote the Escape, the list wasn't as kind for every brand. For example, of the entire Fiat Chrysler Automobiles catalog, the ancient Chrysler 300 was the only car to score a check – there wasn't a single Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Maserati, or Ram on the list. That hurts. FCA isn't alone at the low end, either. GMC, Jaguar Land Rover, Mini, and Mitsubishi don't have a vehicle on CR's list between them, while brands like Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Nissan, Lincoln, Infiniti, and Cadillac only have a few models each. 2015 Honda Fit configurator will let you have it your way
Wed, 11 Jun 2014Honda has released the online configurator for the all-new, 2015 Fit - a vehicle that was scheduled to launch earlier, but was delayed until this month. As is the case with the rest of the Japanese manufacturer's builders, there's not a lot to this one - pick a trim, transmission (where applicable) and a color, and you're all set.
The 2015 Fit will come in three grades, with the base LX offering up both manual and continuously variable transmission, air conditioning, Bluetooth, USB connectivity, a 60/40 split-rear seat and a four-speaker stereo, among lesser items. The LX starts at $15,525, not counting a $790 destination charge. Next up is the $17,435 EX, which adds 16-inch wheels, push-button start and a seven-inch display audio system complete with Pandora and text-message functionality. Like the LX, the EX can be had with either a manual or CVT, with the two-pedal setup commanding an $800 premium, regardless of trim.
The top-of-the-line EX-L, however, cannot be had with a manual. Getting the king of the Fit line will lock you into the CVT, although it adds an assortment of cow-based products, in the form of heated leather seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Heated wing mirrors are also included in the $19,800 starting price. Navigation is an optional goodie, which tacks $1,000 onto the price and is only available on the EX-L. HD Radio and satellite radio are also included on the EX-L.
