1993 Eg Honda Civic Lx Turbo Dynotuned 417 Whp - Custom Wide Body Show Car on 2040-cars
Springfield, Illinois, United States
A ONE OF A KIND, SHOW WINNING WIDEBODY 417WHP EG CIVIC! *** Please note : Autocheck shows a "MINOR ISSUE" because an 18 year old kid ran a stop sign (looking for his cellphone on the floor apparently) and basically bumped into my driver side rear wheel. The wheel was replaced with a brand new one of the same exact type. ***
*** Lots of pictures below including dyno video ***
This
car has been my pride and joy for over 10 years but unfortunately other
commitments and priorities has caused me to come to the decision to sell it. I
simply do not have time for it anymore and would hate for it to just sit in my
garage. For example, last year I only drove it close to 60 (SIXTY) miles total!
You will be getting one VERY UNIQUE, ONE OF A KIND car that not only looks good
but is also very fast and reliable. NOT FOR UNEXPERIENCED DRIVERS OR FAINT OF
HEART!
This
is a Florida car and has been garaged its entire life when it was not driven.
Only driven in nice weather. Never been to drag strip (did not have time).
The
body has approximately 185,000 miles on it, but the engine was bought with approximately
55,000 miles and the engine block was rebuilt to handle the turbo charger
reliabily. The 5 speed transmission was replaced about 3 years ago and has
approximately 70,000 miles on it. Car has been professionally dyno tuned on 93
octane pump gas by Lowe Performance of Alton, IL for reliability and power as
well. I have put no more than 3,500 miles on the upgraded turbocharged engine
over the past few years! So it should last you many, many years to come. One of
the nice things about this car is that it can be daily driven like a normal
Honda Civic and get great gas mileage as it still makes good power even without
the turbo kicking in, so you do not have to constantly boost just for
"normal" driving.
The
body was painted with House of Kolor paint - Metallic Silver. It does have a
few scratches, paint chips and VERY minor body damage (SEE PICS) - please bear
in mind that I have had this car for over 10 years. Still can be driven to car
shows and should not cost much at all to make it 100% perfect, if you chose to!
CAR HAS BEEN BUILT WITH REPUTABLE NAME BRAND PARTS. I wanted it to look cool, be fast and RELIABLE! This Civic makes 417 whp and 296 ft lb of Torque at 20 PSI (See Dyno sheet pic). Video after being dynotuned : http://youtu.be/kPHMj4yVvgY

*** Please note *** The car does have minor issues. Here is a list of everything as far as I know : Autocheck shows that there was a "MINOR ISSUE" - this is because a kid rolled through a Stop sign (looking for his cellphone on the floor apparently) and bumped into my driver side rear wheel. I had his insurance replace the rim with a brand new one and repair the dent on the body, with a reputable bodyshop of my choice. As
mentioned, the body has small chips, and paint damage (front bumper - middle area) all shown in the
pictures. The
wide body kit has some small cracks on it which can be very easily repaired by
a bodyshop. Exhaust
has a small leak after the downpipe (hard to notice). Idle
control valve fluctuates sometimes (probably needs to be replaced and because
of exhaust leak) Needs
a minor wheel alignment Does
not have Air Conditioning or Power Steering (Due to performance modifications and space
needed) Heater
valve cable will need to be replaced (it does not open the heater valve all the
way because it got stretched - I do not drive the car in winter or very cold
weather so I never replaced it) The
front seats have a small rip in the bottom - they can be restitched.
PLEASE, NO TIRE KICKERS. NO JOY RIDES / TIME WASTERS! MONEY TALKS. Not desperate to sell the vehicle but I'd rather not just have it sitting in my garage most of the time! I'm just being honest here to avoid complications. If you would like to setup a time to come by and have cash in hand, I will gladly show it to you and we can go on a test drive. Also, for serious out of town buyers who want the vehicle shipped I can provide videos as required or additional specific pictures.
I am willing to ship this vehicle within the U.S. using the fully insured car carriers as listed by eBay in this listing. Vehicle will be shipped after payment (cashier's check or cash in person) fully clears the bank. This vehicle is sold as is with no warranty what so ever. Buyer responsible for shipping costs.

2014 Honda Civic Coupe
Wed, 20 Nov 2013Honda lifted the covers off its refreshed Civic Coupe at SEMA earlier this month, showing off its updated styling and redesigned 18-inch wheels, but didn't unveil its interior or mechanical upgrades until today at the LA Auto Show. Eager to show off its latest arrival, Honda allowed me to check out and drive the new coupe a few weeks ago.
The interior, which was hidden beneath heavily tinted glass at SEMA, features new colors, upgraded seating materials and new technology. The interior themes are now more color coordinated and feature upgraded Tricot soft weave. Black is the standard interior color, with a choice of black or gray seats. A new display audio system is also found on the EX/EX-L trims. The seven-inch capacitive-touch screen, with a matte finish to reduce the annoyance of greasy fingerprint marks, allows users to not only tap once for a function, but to double-tap, slide, flick and pinch - as if they are using a familiar smartphone or tablet. The new infotainment interface not only accepts USB and Bluetooth data exchange, but has also been configured with HDMI for future upgrades. Some of you may have also noticed the exterior mirrors on the SEMA car, as they were fitted with cameras for Honda's blind spot minimizing Lanewatch system. It is now offered on the Civic Coupe for EX trims and above.
Mechanically, the new Civic Coupe rides on an upgraded suspension system that features revised spring rates (front up by four percent, rear up by three percent), a stiffer rear stabilizer (up by 25 percent) and larger 16-inch wheels (wearing 205/55R16 tires). The engineering objective was to improve handling and responsiveness while flattening cornering. According to Honda, the tweaks should give the Civic Coupe better linear steering feel than either the Hyundai Elantra or the Ford Focus.
Honda recalling 405K vehicles over airbag issue
Thu, 19 Sep 2013Honda is in hot water due to an airbag glitch that is causing it to recall 405,400 vehicles. According to the campaign, the supplemental restraints might fire for no apparent reason. 342,000 of the affected vehicles are 2003 and 2004 Odyssey minivans, which gels with a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation we reported on in June.
Joining the Odyssey in the recall is the Acura MDX, with 63,400 units covered from the 2003 model year. Unlike the van, though, the MDX's recall covers Japan and Australia, in addition to the US and Canada. Both vehicles are suffering from an airbag control unit that is prone to malfunction when exposed to electrical noise, a condition that can cause the airbags to deploy without warning. Although no crashes have been reported in such scenarios, there have been some injuries typical of airbag deployment - abrasions and such.
Honda will be mailing recall notices to owners near the end of October, asking them to bring their vehicles into the dealership for installation of an electrical noise filter. The repair will take about an hour and be free of charge. Scroll down for the official announcement from Honda.
West Coast labor dispute hampers Japanese automakers' US plants
Wed, Feb 18 2015The ongoing labor dispute between the International Longshore and Warehouse Union and port owners along the West Coast is starting to affect more Japanese automakers building vehicles in the US. The issue already forced Honda and Subaru to take the expensive option of airlifting some parts into the US weeks ago, and according to USA Today, Toyota and Nissan have begun doing so, as well. The choice hasn't been cheap, though, and Subaru's chief financial officer estimated that the decision cost around $60 million more per month than sending components by cargo ship. The effects continue to radiate, according to USA Today, and shortages of some models are possible. Honda is slowing production at its factories in Ohio, Indiana and Canada because the automaker doesn't have enough transmissions and electronics for some vehicles. Toyota already cut back on overtime at some factories. Nissan has only seen a small effect from the issue, though, because of its local suppliers. Dock workers and port owners have been negotiating on a new contract since last year, and the union has organized work slowdowns in response. According to USA Today, the automakers could move shipments to Canada or Mexico, but it would take longer for parts to arrive.
