This car was a true barn find. It was parked in 1998 till 2011. I bought the car from the original owner. He had all service records, it was not in running condition at all and was in need of a major overhaul. Everything was professionally run through on this car by Mark Allen (Allen's Specialty Auto) He is retired now but we are really good friends and I still contract work with him. This car has been my daily driver for the last 2 years and I really enjoy the car I love the head turns I get, the conversations I have with strangers about it. I tinted the windows to cut down on the sun when I drive. I drove this car all over the bay area north bay south bay and into the central valley. I spent prolly 9 months just going through all the systems in the car to get it back to the condition of a daily driver. My reserve is 6,500.00. I've been collecting and restoring these cars for over a decade and that's what I would pay for this car. Good luck guys!

Honda To Expand Takata Air Bag Recall Nationwide

Wed, Dec 3 2014

Under pressure from federal regulators, Honda is expanding a recall of driver's side air bags to all 50 states. The air bags, made by Japanese supplier Takata Corp., can explode with too much force, sending metal shrapnel into the passenger compartment. Takata insists that current recalls covering 8 million U.S. cars in high-humidity areas are sufficient. But the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration wants the recalls expanded nationwide after some incidents outside the high-humidity zones. Rick Schosteck, Honda's executive vice president for North America, told House lawmakers Wednesday that Honda will expand the regional recall it began in June, but will continue to prioritize high-humidity areas. He also said Honda is working with other air bag manufacturers to make sure it has enough parts. Related Gallery Consumer Reports Least Loved Cars 2014 Recalls Honda Safety NHTSA list

Acura introduces a sleeker self-driving test car

Wed, May 18 2016

As we creep ever closer to an autonomous-car future, one thing is for certain, most of the driverless cars we see being tested look hideous thanks to all the sensors strapped to the roof. Today Acura introduced its second generation Automated Acura RLX Development Vehicle with updated sensors and a more pleasing aesthetic. Gone is the spinning LIDAR system replaced with a more compact and robust version of the light detection and ranging technology. It's also got updated RADAR, camera, GPS and higher performance GPUs and CPUs as well as what Acura is calling "more intelligent software algorithms to support more complex testing scenarios." Acura and its parent company Honda have been testing autonomous cars at its GoMentum Station in the Bay Area since last year with a specially outfitted RLX (shown in the video above with the spinning LIDAR system). This new car will replace that vehicle. This article by Roberto Baldwin originally ran on Engadget, the definitive guide to this connected life. Honda S660 Kei car makes you want to jump in and drive

Tue, Mar 31 2015

We want the Honda S660. In fact, after seeing the freshly debuted production model, it's fair to say the kei roadster has already leapt to the very tip-top of our forbidden fruit list. Considering our newfound love for the tiny two-seater, you, dear reader, are going to have to put up with a lot of S660 content in the coming weeks. First up, we have what's called nori-setsu, or "riding instructions." Honda recruited a pair of gymnasts, who use their talents to slide, creatively, into a mockup of the S660. While the acrobats make it look easy, we imagine the amount of space in the S660 makes slotting into the driver's seat off a pommel horse is somewhat dangerous, hence the padding and mocked-up roadster. Fortunately, when an actual S660 is brought out to play, the gymnast finds a more conventional means of getting behind the wheel. Check out the video.
