Rust Free, Garaged, Woman Driver, No Smoker, Well-maintained, Loaded on 2040-cars
Londonderry, New Hampshire, United States
You already know this is a rare car, and it's a Southern rust-free example. Would not sell after getting it just right, but we got an even better Texas rust-free car last month.. I bought this wagon in Richmond VA in March 2011 with 94K miles, so it has only seen three NH winters, and those were lightly driven by my wife, who worked 2-3 days a week and it was garaged otherwise. When I bought it, the CarFax indicated it started life in upstate NY briefly, then to PA, but most of its life in VA. It was sold by a dealer, so of course he didn't fix anything, and I immediately had to put in a new radiator and fix the E-brake. It got a new timing belt and water pump at 106,485, and a new exhaust system last year. Last week it got a new front wheel bearing so that required re-alignment, now that's all set. You won't have to go through that expense again, absolutely everything works now. Look at the photos: there's no rust in the usual places, and it does not appear to have been repainted, look at that shine!!.
eBay now has an odd way of walking you through the options and equipment, so hopefully I got everything listed. The best thing about EX trim, it comes with EVerything, including moonroof and ABS brakes . The CD player is not original, it's a high-end SONY 52WX-4, and it's labeled 'satellite ready' but I never tried Sirius, etc.. It has a remote which is easier to use than the itty-bitty buttons down there on the radio. The AC is cold, I've never had to service it, and get this: The ABS STILL WORKS!!!! The (full size) spare and tools have never been used, it still has original air. This car came with alloys and worn-out tires, so I replaced with these rims, 96-97 wheel covers, and Bridgestone Potenzas which are still about 75%. It still has the luggage space cover, in good shape.. We don't smoke, and the car didn't smell like smoke when I bought it, but there was a (clumsy) smoker in its previous life, because there are three slight singes in the nap of the fabric in the drivers seat. It's nowhere near burned through, and no discoloration. Headlights are crystal clear, as is the windshield, no sandblasting or cracks or pits. Bid without hesitation, this car is fine, needs nothing, drive anywhere in comfort and economy. On May-02-14 at 18:02:28 PDT, seller added the following information:

I can't believe there's another identical car on eBay, started the same day as mine, while I was struggling with my photos. On May-03-14 at 05:02:12 PDT, seller added the following information: Engine, 2.2 liter not 2.4. This engine came only in EX version on this series of Accords, later all engines called Vtek. Different head than the base engine. |

Honda getting in on the Daytona Prototype racing action
Fri, 14 Mar 2014Racing fans at Sebring are plenty used to seeing Honda powering into the winner's circle, the Japanese motor company having claimed class victories at the endurance race in Florida in 2007, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013. Those were all in the LMP2 category, but with the Twelve Hours of Sebring now part of the combined United SportsCar Championship, Honda is branching out into another class: Daytona Prototypes.
The purpose-built racing machinery that were once part of the Grand-Am series are now racing alongside the LMP2 prototypes from the American Le Mans Series under the united championship. So far Ford and Chevy have signed on to power the Daytona Prototypes, and now Honda's joining their ranks as the only manufacturer to field entries in both categories of the championship's Prototype class.
The competition-spec 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 revealed last month is based on the same J35 engine that powers everything from the Honda Accord to the Acura RLX and MDX. Now it will power the Riley chassis fielded by Starworks Motorsports, competing alongside the pair of Honda Performance Development (HPD) ARX-03b chassis which Extreme Speed Motorsports will campaign under LMP2 regulations, giving Honda a two-pronged, three-car assault on the top class of the new American sports car racing series.
Honda reveals new Civic hatch for WTCC
Tue, 03 Dec 2013If you thought the Honda Civic Type R prototype we drove in Japan looked cool, and that the Civic Tourer that Honda will race in the British Touring Car Championship next year looks even cooler, just take a look at this.
Possibly the ultimate race-spec Civic, this is the car Honda will field next year in the World Touring Car Championship. Like the Type R prototype (but unlike the BTCC-spec wagon) the WTCC challenger takes the form of Honda's latest Euro-spec Civic five-door hatchback.
It's the car with which Honda intends to defend its title and capture the driver's title in next year's championship. It'll face a tough challenge from the new Citroën team headlined by Sebastien Loeb in the new C-Elysee, not to mention the rest of the grid. Fortunately, Honda is entering a whole mess of these Civics in the series, with former champion Gabriele Tarquini and former F1 driver Tiago Monteiro driving the works entries (hence the mixed "Gabriago" tag on the window) and another pair to be entered by privateer teams.
Honda, SolarCity expand sun-powered partnership with new $50 million fund
Wed, Oct 8 2014It must be solar-power announcement time. The DOE is ready to throw $25 million at concentrating solar power and New York State just announced $94 million for solar projects. At the broadly green-minded South By Southwest Eco festival in Austin, TX this week, Honda announced an expansion of its work with SolarCity to include a new fund that could finance up to $50 million in solar projects for dealerships and homes. Well, the homes of people who have purchased a Honda or Acura vehicle, at least. Stop us if this all sounds familiar. Honda and SolarCity announced back in early 2013 that they would work together on a $65-million fund to partially subsidize the installation of solar-panels at Honda dealers and on homes of Honda and Acura drivers. The new $50 million will be used to pay for not only the equipment but also the installation, which means that if you can get access to the money, you're looking at a pretty sweet 20-year lease deal to get solar energy for your home and could make it a bit more like the Honda Smart Home in Davis, CA (pictured). How sweet a deal? Well, there's zero down payment required and a 3-kW system starts could cost you just $25 a month, according to the fine print. Rates will vary, for sure, but if that sounds like something you're interested in, check out the Honda SolarCity site. The new fund builds on the previous work that, the two companies say, created enough solar capacity to offset "more than 400 million pounds of CO2 over a 30-year lifecycle." There's more in the press release below. SolarCity and Honda Announce $50 Million Commitment to Provide Solar Power to Honda and Acura Customers and Dealerships SAN MATEO and TORRANCE, Calif., Oct. 8, 2014 – Today, at the SXSW Eco conference in Austin, TX, SolarCity® (Nasdaq: SCTY) and Honda have renewed their partnership with a new fund expected to finance $50 million in solar projects. The new commitment will make solar power more affordable and available to Honda and Acura customers and dealerships in the U.S. The companies have completed or initiated a range of solar projects for homeowners, dealerships and corporate facilities that total more than 12.5 MW of solar generation capacity. The two companies have already brought enough solar capacity online to offset more than 400 million pounds of CO2 over a 30-year lifecycle . The $50 million fund is a follow-up to a $65 million fund the companies created in 2013.
