Up for sale is my 2006 Honda Accord V6. This is a very rare package that includes Honda's smooth and powerful VTEC V6 engine, slick shifting 6-speed manual transmission ("6MT"), Honda satellite linked navigation, XM radio, and upgrades that Honda only put on the 6MT, including the great looking 5-spoke alloy wheels, carbon fiber-look interior trim and upgraded stereo. Very few of this particular combination were made, and Honda only sold these V6 sedans with a 6-speed manual for two years. Of those, very few included the Navi option with voice control, which is really a must-have.

I have all the original service records, purchase paperwork, window sticker, even the original marketing book. Clean title in in my hand and ready to transfer over. This car has been meticulously maintained by the dealer at which it was purchased (Brown's Honda in Arlington, VA), garage kept, highway driven by a mature adult, and has had ABSOLUTELY NO ACCIDENTS. We have no pets and the car has never been smoked in - I don't even eat or drink coffee in this car - just look at the photos and I think you will agree the condition reflects that level of care. Check out my 14 years on eBay with 100% positive feedback and bid with confidence!

This car was my baby and I did not plan to sell it, so I have just recently spent close to $3,000 to get it ready to go the next 100,000 miles. Here is a LINK to the recently completed timing belt, water pump and CV Boot replacement ($1,700), and another LINK to the recently completed 90,000 mile service ($1,100). The only recall that was open on this car was for the power steering pump, and you can see HERE that the work was completed by the dealer. Every light, switch, accessory and item of any kind on the car down to the smallest detail works exactly as it should. Front tires are nearly new; rears are at around 50%. Want to see the original window sticker? That's right HERE.

If you took a look at the window sticker I linked to above, you noticed the car puts out 244 HP on Regular Unleaded and is rated at 30 MPG Highway. The Nav system has a trip computer, and I can attest that 30 MPG and more is achievable when doing mostly highway driving. Car and Driver tested this car when it came out, and it delivered a sub-6 second zero to sixty time, faster than contemporary BMWs that were less efficient, smaller, required premium unleaded fuel, and cost a LOT more without delivering the legendary Honda reliability. Read the article HERE.

Just to be 100% clear, this car is in excellent condition and the pictures and descriptions tell the story. I am NOT trying to claim the car is mint, indistinguishable from new, or that it is in showroom condition - just a very clean, well cared for and unmolested example of a rare car that has the unique quality of being practical AND fun.  Just passed VA inspection with flying colors. I'll answer questions other than "what's your reserve" (it's very reasonable). If you have negative or low feedback, email me before bidding - remember, your bid is a legally enforceable contract!

I require a $500 deposit within 48 hours of auction end, refundable only if the car is not as described.

Thanks for looking and good luck!

Acura NSX and David Lee Roth wail together in Super Bowl spot

Fri, Jan 29 2016

Super Bowl 50 is just over a week away, but carmakers are already rolling out their big ads. Acura's newly released commercial uses the screams and moans from Van Halen's David Lee Roth and the song Runnin' with the Devil to build excitement about the upcoming supercar. As Van Halen plays, the NSX evolves from a slab of metal into the turbocharged, hybrid coupe. In a patriotic touch, the commercial uses red, white, and blue to subtly communicate the supercar's US development and production. It's a clever ad, sure, but we wish it showed more of the new NSX's high-performance capability. There's never a bad time to listen to some Van Halen, though. The video above is the 30-second Super Bowl commercial, which airs during the first quarter. However, the clip below is a one-minute version that lets the visuals breathe more. The longer cut is the better one, but Acura's choice is understandable given the expense of Super Bowl ad time. Acura Rolls Out American-made NSX Supercar with Super Bowl Commercial Set to Van Halen Classic, Runnin' with the Devil Jan 29, 2016 - TORRANCE, Calif. The high-energy vocal effects of the Van Halen classic Runnin' with the Devil provide the powerful beat for the Acura commercial that will appear during the first quarter of the big game. The spot is a showcase of the Precision Crafted Performance brand direction that is core to the Acura brand and vividly represented in the NSX supercar. The new Acura Super Bowl commercial is posted to Acura.com and Acura social media channels for previewing before the big game and is augmented with a series of unique social media activations and live experiences, including one of the first applications of Twitter Conversational Video to launch a Super Bowl spot. "In our Acura commercial, we wanted to convey the excitement of the NSX to a big Super Bowl audience," said Jon Ikeda, vice president and general manager of Acura.

Honda demonstrates driverless valet parking system with special Fit EVs

Sat, 26 Oct 2013

There are many challenges that will need to be sorted out before full autonomous driving becomes a reality, but automakers are taking small steps toward this advancement with semi-autonomous technologies. Nissan, Toyota and Ford have already revealed various automated driving systems, and now Honda is getting into the game with an automatic valet parking system that was unveiled recently at the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) World Congress in Tokyo.
Unlike Ford's recently demonstrated self-parking Focus, which is fully operational on its own, Honda's new system requires input from the parking lot via cameras. Combining information provided by the car's rearview camera as well as cameras positioned around the parking lot, drivers are able to drop their car off at a central location, and using a touchscreen display, the car can park itself and return when the driver is ready to leave. The benefit of this is that multiple cars can be parked at the same time and no additional sensors (other than a backup camera) are needed for the car, but the downside is that it can only operate on properly equipped parking lots. According to Honda's demonstration, this system can be practical by 2020.
Honda also showed off some semi-autonomous driving and non-contact electric vehicle recharging technologies at the ITS World Congress, although information is limited and there are no demonstrations available. Scroll down to read more about Honda's latest tech, including a video demonstration of the automatic valet parking system.

Honda reports $1.9 billion profit in first quarter despite sales lag at home

Wed, 31 Jul 2013

Ford, General Motors and Chrysler have been living in a world of sunshine and buttercups after their April-through-June financials hit the newswire, and Toyota is doing pretty good as well. Honda? Not so much.
While Japan's third-largest manufacturer saw $1.9 billion in profits, the 5.1-percent jump was lower than expected thanks to a drop in its home-market sales. US sales also took a sting, as Honda hasn't been able to match the SUV and truck demand that are currently permeating the American market, despite an uptick in Accord sales.
Honda's initial forecasts targeted a take of 209.3 billion yen ($2.1 billion at today's rates), and while a $200 million shortfall is nothing to sniff at, we'd hardly take this as Honda being in trouble. And even with the dip, Honda hasn't adjusted its forecast for the fiscal year, which remains at 780 billion yen ($7.9 billion).
