Elgin, Illinois, United States
Year: 2007
Make: Honda Model: Accord VIN: JHMCM56337C005510 Mileage: 100,700 Transmission: Automatic Engine: 4 Cylinder, 2.4 L DOHC 16V Exterior Color: Black Interior Color: Tan Drivetrain: Front wheel drive There's a reason why the Honda Accord is one of the most popular cars. It gets great gas mileage, looks stylish, is roomy, and is incredibly reliable. 2007 is one of the highest rated years out of any year of Honda Accord on Consumer Reports. J.D. Power and Associates gave the 2007 Accord 5 out of 5 Power Circles for Overall Dependability. New Car Test Drive said it "...delivers high levels of quality and performance and ranks at the top of class among mid-size, medium-priced cars..." My wife and I have owned this car (second owners) since end of 2008. We have lived in Utah (2 years) and Illinois (2 years). We have regularly changed the oil at professional auto shops (often the dealer), done the maintenance, and kept it in great condition. It is considered low mileage for its age. The current mileage is 100,700. It was in a small accident while the first owner had it. It has never had an issue from that accident - everything has been in working order. I have a CARFAX that was pulled on the VIN that I can share, if you'd like. The title is clean and there are no issues. We are selling the car because we are moving to an area where a car is not needed. The car is available on July 12th. You can see it and test drive it before then - we just need to use it until the day we move. The interior has minor wear. Everything is in working order though. No tears in the seats, no stains on the seats, everything works. It's an awesome car! Very spacious in the back. Trunk is huge. We have a key fob and extra keys. I've noticed it gets between 24 and 28 MPG depending if you're mainly a city driver or a highway commuter. On road trips I usually get in the 30s. The windows are tinted (i think 0% front windshield, 50% in passenger and driver front, and 70-80% in the back doors, then 90%+ in the back windshield. Very protective for the hot sun that beats down on the car. Keeps the car a lot cooler - plus the aesthetics are boosted with the dark tinted windows and black exterior paint color. Shipping and payment: Buyer will be responsible to pick up the car from seller's house or arrange for shipment. |

NHTSA investigating 550k Pontiac G6 models, 320k Honda Odysseys
Mon, 10 Jun 2013According to two separate reports in The Detroit News, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is launching investigations into 550,000 Pontiac G6 (pictured above) and 320,000 Honda Odyssey (pictured right) models. The G6 models are all from the 2005 to 2007 model years, while the Odyssey minivans are from the 2003 and 2004 model years. The two NHTSA probes are not related.
In the case of the G6, this is an upgrade to an original investigation that started in February after NHTSA received "hundreds of reports" that the brake lights on these cars may malfunction. According to The Detroit News, the lights may come on when the brake pedal is not depressed, and likewise, the brake lights may not illuminate when the pedal has been pushed. General Motors was able to provide NHTSA with a significant number of warranty claims, including 1,100 reports that could potentially relate to this problem, one of which indicates a vehicle crash.
For Honda, the NHTSA probe concerns airbags that may deploy unexpectedly. The government agency received six complaints from 2003-04 Odyssey owners saying that the front airbags suddenly went off without a crash. The Detroit News reports that three of the six owners sustained injuries from these incidents. Additionally, NHTSA has received 41 complaints from owners saying the vehicle's airbag warning light had illuminated.
Recharge Wrap-up: 2015 Honda CR-Z now on sale, Daimler and Linde building hydrogen stations in Germany
Fri, Oct 10 2014The 2015 Honda CR-Z hybrid is now available at dealerships, for slightly more money. The CR-Z starts at an MSRP of $20,145 (plus $790 in destination charges), up from the $19,995 price of the 2014 model. For those who don't want to row their own gears with the six-speed manual transmission, the available CVT adds an extra $650 to the price, but also offers better fuel economy, especially in the city. The manual-equipped CR-Z gets 31 mpg city/38 highway/34 combined, while the CVT version is rated at 36/39/37 mpg. The 1.5-liter engine and electric motor provide a combined peak 130 horsepower. The manual CR-Z offers 140 pound-feet of torque, with the CVT version providing 127 pound-feet. Customers can also soup up their new CR-Z with upgrades (including a supercharger) from Honda Performance Development. Learn more in the press release below. Daimler and Linde are teaming up to build hydrogen fueling stations in Germany. The automaker and gases and engineering company, with the help of a few oil and gas companies, plan to install 13 new stations by the end of 2015. The installations precede a push by Daimler to get more fuel cell vehicles on the road. "From 2017, we are planning to bring competitively priced fuel-cell vehicles to market," says Daimler's Herbert Kohler. "So now is the time to build a nationwide fuelling infrastructure." Linde will supply the stations with fully renewable hydrogen. Read more in the press release below. In 1899, an EV set a world landspeed record, and Wired has revisited the story with a nice look back at the "La Jamais Contente" and its driver, Belgian engineer Camille Jenatzy. Jenatzy built an electric car to race in a hillclimb, which he won while clocking a top speed of 17 miles per hour (measured the old-timey way - without radar guns). Just a few weeks later, another man set a landspeed record of 32 miles per hour, beginning a back-and-forth series of setting new records. Then, on April 29, 1899, "The Red Devil," as Jenatzy became known as, surpassed 100 kph (62 mph) when his torpedo-shaped electric car set a record of 65.8 mph. It was powered by two 25-kilowatt electric motors. Read the whole story over at Wired.
Honda exclusive to McLaren at least until 2017
Wed, 23 Apr 2014Next year Honda will return to Formula One after a seven-year absence, bringing the first Japanese automaker to compete in the top-tier racing series back into the fold. But though it started in 1964 much as it ended in 2008, running its own team (much like Ferrari and Mercedes do today), its new F1 program will see it revert to engine-supplier status (like Renault did when it sold its team to Lotus).
The arrangement will be exclusive to McLaren for the 2015 Formula One World Championship. But what fans and insiders alike have been wondering is how it might expand after that. Well, now we have at least part of the answer.
According to the F1 business insiders at Pitpass, Honda motorsport chief Yasuhisa Arai told a group of journalists at this past weekend's race in Shanghai that the deal with McLaren will be exclusive not only in 2015, but also in 2016. In other words, it won't be until 2017 at the earliest before Honda might begin supplying engines to any other teams, if at all.
