Rochester, New York, United States

You are looking at my 2004 Accord Coupe with the rare V6 6spd combinaton in San Marino Red.

This car as you can see is in amazing shape. I take care of my vehicles like no other and take pride in making them look good and perform better than OEM.

The car is lightly modofied as you can see from the pictures. The engine is all stock except for a K&N Typhoon cold air intake and color matched engine covers. I wanted to keep the reliability of the engine untouched.

 SERVICE:

  • Oil has been changed every 3000 - 4000 with synthetic blend oil and a new filter.
  • Cabin filter has been replaced as needed and the K&N air filter washed and oiled as needed.
  • Timing belt service has been donr at 105k miles at the dealer along with new rear calipers.
  • I replaced all 4 rotors with cross drilled and slotted rotors and new ceramic pads not too long ago.
  • New right rear caliper at the same time as brakes and new right rear swaybar endlink.

 EXTERIOR:

  • As you can see i have the discontinued and highly sought after OEM front lip from Honda with a under lip i added after.
  • The roof, mirror bases and door pillars are wrapped in carbonfiber wrap and look great.
  • On April 12,2014 i got the whole car buffed, polished and waxed by a professional. Paint looks better than new now.
  • The OEM headlights are blacked out and sealed up properly. No leaks or condensation. Stock bulbs, no fake HID kits here.

 SUSPENTION:

  • The car is lowerd on 32 way damper adjustable CXRacing coilover kit. These are great quality coilovers that deliver superior handling and comfort.
  • I have the stock OEM wheels wrapped in 235/50/17 Blizzaks. They are amazing on snow and ice.
  • Summer wheels are XXR 527s in 18x8.75 +35 wrapped in Achilles 225/40/18 tires. Summer setup has under 5000 miles on them and no camber wear.
  • I have black lugnuts with locking lugs and keys for extra security.

 INTERIOR

  • Interior is mainly stock with the exception of winter matts and summer matts.
  • LED dome, reading, door and trunk lights in white color.
  • Carbonfiber wrapped trim pieces on the center console, looks great.
  • Ipod and AUX integrated into the stock stereo with the i-Simple kit  ($135) You control your iPod from the stereo while the ipod sits inside the armrest.
  • Upgraded speakers (Pioneer i think) in the doors and the rear 6x9s

There may be few things im forgetting but this is mostly everything. I got this car from an older guy who took real good care of it and always got it serviced. I have most of the receipts from him and from things i did to it. The clutch is great and grabs right away. I have never done a "burnout" with this car ever since i got it and im pretty sure the old guy before me hasnt either.

Im very mechanically inclined so i do almost all the work myself and pay extra attention to detail. I dont cut corners on anything. Only reason im looking to sell my car is to get into a 4dr Acura TL or something similar thats little larger and has 4 doors. Im not looking for trades so please dont offer anything unless its a 09+ Acura TL SH :)

AutoCheck shows 2 accidents - these were minor fender benders. Someone hit the side in a parking lot so i had to make a claim. Total was $1200 to pull the dent out and paint the quarterpanel. All done by a reputable shop.

You can message me with any questions you may have and dont hesitate to send reasonable offers. Keep in mind this isnt just another Accord. This combination and color is pretty rare to begin with and with these modifications on it, the price im asking is pretty fair. This car will go past 250k miles no problem if maintained right and in a timely manner.

Beleaguered Takata unlikely to seek automaker assistance

Sun, Feb 22 2015

Takata is continuing to deal with the massive airbag recall for millions of vehicles, but even if it doubles production, it could take years the company to build enough replacement parts to properly repair all of the affected models. If the supplier takes a hard enough financial hit whether through fines, lawsuits or just the cost of making the components, then the business might not be able to keep up production. Such a situation could put automakers in the very difficult predicament of deciding whether to provide Takata with financial assistance. Honda for one has little interest in lending further support to the beleaguered supplier, according to The Wall Street Journal. The Japanese automaker recently dropped its annual sales targets to put a larger emphasis on vehicle quality, partially in response to the inflator recall. It also struck a deal with another company for replacement parts and was rumored to abandon Takata for some future business. Honda CEO Takanobu Ito did leave the door barely cracked for possible aid. "Takata itself needs to figure out how to fulfill its duties, but if it makes any request to automakers, then we would think about that," he said, according to The Wall Street Journal. There isn't much likelihood of Takata needing a bailout, though. According to The Wall Street Journal, analysts aren't concerned about the company's short-term fortunes, and the supplier had about $728 million in cash as of last September. Inside Honda's ghost town for testing autonomous cars

Thu, Jun 2 2016

On the edge of the San Francisco suburb of Concord, California sits a ghost town. Dilapidated buildings and cracked roads are framed by overgrowth and slightly askew street signs. The decommissioned five acre portion of the Concord Naval Weapons Station that once housed military personnel and their families is now home to squirrels, jack rabbits, wild turkeys and Honda's mysterious testing lab for autonomous vehicles. This former town within a Naval base – now dubbed "GoMentum Station" – is the perfect testing ground for Honda's self-driving cars. An almost turn-key solution to the problem of finding somewhere to experiment with autonomous vehicle inside an urban area. Thanks to the GoMentum Station, the automaker has access to 20 miles of various road types, intersections and infrastructure exactly like those found in the real world. Just, you know, without all the people getting in the way. While the faded lane markers and cracked asphalt might initially make it difficult for the car to figure out what's going on around it, that's exactly what you want when training a self-driving system. Many roads in the real world are also in dire need of upkeep. Just because autonomous vehicles are hitting the streets doesn't mean the funding needed to fix all the potholes and faded lane markers will magically appear. The real world doesn't work that way and the robot cars that will eventually make our commutes less of a headache will need to be aware of that. Plus, it's tougher to train a car to drive downtown than to barrel down the highway at 80 miles per hour. A company is going to want to get as much practice as possible. While semi-autonomous driving on the everyone-going-the-same-way-at-a-constant-speed freeway is already a reality, navigating in an urban environment is far more complex. If you've driven on the streets of Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Chicago or Seattle you know that driving downtown takes far more concentration than cruising down the interstate. With all that in mind, Honda's tricked out Acura RLX did a good job during an (admittedly very controlled) hands-free demo. It didn't hit either of the pedestrians walking across its path. It stopped at stop signs and even maneuvered around a mannequin situated in the middle of the road. The reality is, watching a car drive around the block and safely avoid stuff is boring. Not to metion, Google has been doing this for a while in the real world.

Japanese automakers kick in $800k for new charging-station company

Mon, Jun 2 2014

Cynics may say that gathering $800,000 (total) from four of Japan's largest automakers is merely a rounding error. Still, Toyota, Nissan, Honda and Mitsubishi, along with the Development Bank of Japan, are putting those funds to good use. So, that's something. Last week, those five entities officially founded Nippon Charge Service LLC. The company was established to promote plug-in vehicle charging installations across Japan and the automakers seeded it with 80 million yen, or about $786,000 US. Those funds will be used to help business owners deploy charging stations at convenience stores, highway-side locales and other locations that will make it easier for plug-in vehicle drivers (of Toyotas, Hondas, Mitsubishis and Nissans, obviously) to get their juice. The automakers first announced they'd collaborate last year, when they said they'd work with the Japanese government to more than triple the country's publicly accessible chargers to about 17,000 units. No targets were disclosed as far as how many charging stations would be deployed this time out, but, in a move similar to the EZ Charge system in the US, Nippon Charge Service will also have universally-accepted charging cards available by the end of the year to drivers all of those brands' plug-in vehicles to make the charging process a little more seamless. Check out Honda's press release below. Japan Automakers Advance Electric Charging Infrastructure with New Company, Nippon Charge Service -Established to help build charging infrastructure for electric-powered vehicles (PHVs, PHEVs and EVs)- Toyota Motor Corporation Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. Honda Motor Co., Ltd. Mitsubishi Motors Corporation Development Bank of Japan Inc. TOKYO, Japan, May 30, 2014 - Toyota Motor Corporation, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., Honda Motor Co., Ltd., and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation jointly established a new company, Nippon Charge Service, LLC, on May 26 to promote the installation of chargers for electric-powered vehicles (PHVs, PHEVs, EVs). The goal is to help build a charging network that offers more convenience to drivers in Japan. The new company will promote the installation of chargers, for the good of society and to expand the use of electric-powered vehicles. Related industries are also expected to benefit.
