Vehicle Description:

This is a 7-Day NO RESERVE auction for a 2003 Honda Accord LX Sedan!  HIGH BIDDER WINS!

Rare 5-speed Manual Transmission!  Check out the pictures & video!

This Honda runs & drives extremely well!  You would never guess the mileage by looking or driving this very nice automobile.  This Honda was traded it at a new-car dealership in NW Ohio and I purchased the Honda from them.  We have driven this vehicle for the last 100 miles and it is very nice!  The inline 4-cylinder engine runs strong with plenty of power.  The manual 5-speed transmission shifts smooth with no issues at all and the clutch feels great.  This Honda is loaded with lots of options like power windows and locks, cruise control, keyless entry, CD player and so much more.  Zero accident history per autocheck!  Mechanically, this Honda is in very good condition.  Engine & Transmission are 100%.  I have not noticed any leaks on the ground where this Honda has been sitting.  The brakes stop the car smooth and straight.  While driving the steering & suspension components appears to be in very good shape - no rattles, no suspension noise, everything is very tight and obviously well maintained.  The 4 matching BF-Goodrich tires have plenty of tread remaining and the vehicle drives straight down the road. No vibrations at all when driving.  No driveline noise or vibrations at all.  Overall, this vehicle drives extremely nicely for its age and mileage.  All the power options work like they should.  The climate control works and this Honda blows air on all blower levels and wherever you want it to (vents, defroster, etc), however the AC is not blowing cold air.  The system appears to have freon but it is not engaging.  The Honda is equipped with AM/FM/CD - the radio powers up great and sounds very good.  There are absolutely no check engine lights or other warning lights illuminated on the dash.   All of the gauges read properly and there are no abnormal readings. The engine runs smooth with no lack of power at all.   The keyless entry system appears to be working properly with the key fob, two key/fobs are included with the sale.  Extremely nice running and driving vehicle!  Cosmetically -- this car looks in very nice shape. The exterior paint is in excellent condition.  All glass is in-tact and in good condition.  The interior is in nice condition with no rips or major discoloration. Check out the pictures - they speak for themselves!  I have tried to capture both the positives and the flaws in those pictures.  There is a small hole/crack in the passenger rear taillight, a minor dent and minor rust just in front of the passenger side rear wheel in the dog-leg, there is some rust bubbling in the front of the hood, minor paint scratches on the bumpers, and the driver mirror outside cover is missing (see pics). These are minor imperfections that are consistent with the vehicle age.  Overall, this Honda shows extremely nice and will be a vehicle that you can be proud of!

I have tried my best to represent this vehicle accurately and to the best of my abilities.  Earning and keeping a 100% positive feedback rating is very important to me!  I purchase most of my vehicles as trade-ins from new car dealerships as traded. I test drive each vehicle on the expressway and around town for at least 20 miles, often over 100 miles, and use that experience to represent the vehicle to you on eBay.  Please remember that you are buying a used vehicle and that a certain amount of wear/use/flaws are to be expected on any used vehicle -- including this one.  You are welcome and encouraged to come check out this vehicle for yourself and take it for a test drive before the auction ends.  I have included over 50 pictures and a YouTube video - please check out them out.   Feel free to email/call me (Michael) at 734-717-3653 with specific questions and I will do my best to answer them.

Auction Details & Payment Information:

The vehicle is for sale locally as well so auction can end at any time.  Bid with confidence as I have represented the vehicle well.  There will be a $100 documentation fee added on to each vehicle sold.  A $500 deposit is required within 24 hours of the auction ending via paypal.  The remaining balance will need to be paid within 7 days of the end of the auction by Cash or Cashier's Check.  If you need financing, please have that arranged BEFORE the auction ends.

We are a licensed used vehicle dealer and must collect sales tax/title/plate fees so please contact me prior to the auction ending if you want to know what fees you will have to pay on top of the purchase price.  Michigan residents will pay 6% sales tax, $15 title fee, and whatever your plate ends up being.  For out of state buyers, each state is a different tax/title scenario.  If this is a concern, please contact me before the auction ends and I will tell you exactly how much (if any) tax will be for your state.

Junkyard Gem: 2000 Honda Passport 4WD

Sun, Nov 20 2022

The suits at American Honda Motor Company must have spent the bulk of the 1990s tearing out their hair in frustration as their rivals raked in big money from the sales of ever-more-profitable SUVs, even as American car shoppers lost interest in sedans and hatchbacks. Oh, sure, the Civic-based CR-V appeared here for the 1997 model year and sold well enough, but the lack of a larger SUV pained Honda more with each passing year. With the Acura MDX and Honda Pilot not ready for showrooms until the 2001 and 2002 model years, respectively, some stopgap had to be found. Isuzu stepped up and made a deal with Honda: the Rodeo would get Honda badges and become the Passport, while the Trooper would show up in Acura showrooms with SLX badges (for the 1994 and 1995 model years, respectively). Here's one of those Passports, found in a Denver-area self-service yard. Things got even weirder in the Isuzu/Honda world around the turn of the century, with the Honda Odyssey getting Isuzu badges and being sold as the Oasis. Fast-forward to 2009, and the only Isuzu-badged vehicles available new here were rebadged Chevrolets: the I-Series pickup (Chevy Colorado) and the Ascender (Chevy Trailblazer). The Passport name has some interesting American Honda history, stretching back to the first Honda vehicle sold here (and the biggest-selling motor vehicle in human history): the Super Cub. American Honda Motor Company couldn't use the Super Cub name on our shores, because Piper Aircraft had been selling a small plane called the Super Cub since 1949, so the motorcycle was called the Honda 50 over here. Eventually, this bike got a 70cc engine and became the Honda C70 Passport, sales of which continued through the middle 1980s. That means the Passports sitting in your local Honda dealership right now got their name from a one-cylinder motorcycle. General Motors has a Passport connection as well; when GM created the Geo brand to sell rebadged Isuzus, Suzukis, and Toyotas in the United States, it created a marque called Passport to sell the Daewoo LeMans as the Optima in Canada (all the other vehicles sold by Passport dealers were Isuzus). So, Honda's need to offer SUVs in its American dealerships led to an arrangement with GM-connected Isuzu to sell these trucks with a model name bearing links to both companies. So much history in the junkyard! Just as Geo-badged Toyota Corollas (mostly) got Delco radios, so did the Passport get Honda radios.

Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado, Toyota Tundra flunk IIHS headlight test

Tue, Oct 25 2016

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety put pickup truck headlights to the test and found that the majority of them were equipped with subpar units. The 2017 Honda Ridgeline was the only truck to earn a rating of "good." The large pickup truck test was comprised of the: 2016 to 2017 GMC Sierra, 2017 Nissan Titan, 2016 Ram 1500, 2016 to 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, 2016 to 2017 Ford F-150, and 2016 to 2017 Toyota Tundra. The Sierra's headlights earned a rating of "acceptable," the headlights found on the Titan and Ram 1500 were found to be "marginal," and the ones on the Silverado, F-150, and Tundra were rated as "poor." IIHS claims the F-150 was the most disappointing out of the large pickup trucks as both its halogen and optional LED headlights failed to provide adequate visibility during testing. The Ridgeline (which earned a "good rating"), is usually considered a midsize or small truck, though IIHS included it in the field of large pickups. The headlights on the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado, 2016 GMC Canyon, 2016 Nissan Frontier, and 2016 to 2017 Toyota Tacoma, which made up the small pickup truck group, all earned a rating of "poor." The IIHS claimed the Colorado had the worst headlights of any truck that was tested, as the base vehicle's units were only able to illuminate up to 123 feet in front of the car. The Ridgeline's headlights, for reference, were able to illuminate up to 358 feet in front of the vehicle. To conduct its test, the IIHS utilizes a special tool to measure how far light is projected out of the headlights in different driving situations. The trucks' headlights were tested in a straight line and in corners, while vehicles with high-beam assist were given extra praise. The headlights on the pickup trucks also mimic the testing that was done on small SUVs and cars earlier this year. Next year, automakers will need to fit their vehicles with headlights that earn a rating of either good or acceptable to earn the IIHS Top Safety Pick+. Related Video:

Honda demonstrates driverless valet parking system with special Fit EVs

Sat, 26 Oct 2013

There are many challenges that will need to be sorted out before full autonomous driving becomes a reality, but automakers are taking small steps toward this advancement with semi-autonomous technologies. Nissan, Toyota and Ford have already revealed various automated driving systems, and now Honda is getting into the game with an automatic valet parking system that was unveiled recently at the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) World Congress in Tokyo.
Unlike Ford's recently demonstrated self-parking Focus, which is fully operational on its own, Honda's new system requires input from the parking lot via cameras. Combining information provided by the car's rearview camera as well as cameras positioned around the parking lot, drivers are able to drop their car off at a central location, and using a touchscreen display, the car can park itself and return when the driver is ready to leave. The benefit of this is that multiple cars can be parked at the same time and no additional sensors (other than a backup camera) are needed for the car, but the downside is that it can only operate on properly equipped parking lots. According to Honda's demonstration, this system can be practical by 2020.
Honda also showed off some semi-autonomous driving and non-contact electric vehicle recharging technologies at the ITS World Congress, although information is limited and there are no demonstrations available. Scroll down to read more about Honda's latest tech, including a video demonstration of the automatic valet parking system.
