Reliable 99 accord sedan
I've had this car for nearly 1 year. It has been mostly a to-and-from work car, with one trip to Winston-Salem, NC. Problems that I have had with the car- which most were evident when I purchased from the dealership - have since been fixed and this car runs the way a Honda should! That being said, I've put roughly 7K miles on this car in the last year, current odometer reading is right under 170k, prime performance time for most Honda engines. The starter was replaced last summer. All in all, this car is ready to give you quite a few years of good performance with regular maintenance.
4cyl VTEC - auto trans
Black ext/ Beige int, leather seats (power on driver side)
Sunroof
Smoke free
Factory AM/FM Radio, cassette, CD Player, AUX CABLE(instead of cd changer)
Cold AC for the summer, Hot Heat for the winter!
WHATS NEW:
Battery - Jul 2012 - while diagnosing a problem with what I thought was the starter, I replaced the battery with a fresh one. Speaking of Starters...
Starter - Jul 2012 - They tend to go bad at some point in older Accords. This one's brand new and guaranteed for the rest of the life of the vehicle.
Ignition switch - May 2013 - The VIN of this car somehow missed the Honda recall on these parts, but I didn't. This has been replaced and has successfully stopped the random shut-off that occurred sometimes during the warm months.
Rear Rotors/pads - Oct 2012 - normal wear and tear
Auxiliary cable - I wanted to listen to my ipod/android phone w/o replacing the stock head unit, so I found a nifty piece of equipment to plug into the back of the head unit and feed a stereo cable through to the front for modern day convenience, just switch to the cd changer - enjoy!
WHATS OLD:
paint(mild to moderate chipping, can be touched up) - The previous owner(s) left a few small scuffs and scrapes on the body - it's also evident (albeit up close) that the car has been repainted in at least a few areas at some point.
Body - A few dings here and there that come with age( i.e. front of hood)
Windows - while all windows (power) work fine, the automatic roll-down feature on the driver window often times does not function (or takes a special touch). The rear passenger windows are tinted ( I use the term loosely). Previous owner did a rather shoddy DIY job on the rear tint. Easily removable.
Interior - overall 8/10 - a few spots here and there throughout the carpet but the leather has actually held up pretty good

Clean Title - Ready to go!

Honda N Box + has incredible versatility as oddly humorous JDM video shows
Thu, 10 Oct 2013We want the Honda N Box +. Strangely enough, this video spot, shot in Japanese and gushing with production values that are a bit foreign to us, makes us want the little Honda even more. You see, we don't need to know Japanese to see that the kei car's 'universal bridge' feature isn't a gimmick - it actually looks extremely convenient - and that the car's multi-space system takes interior functionality to a new level. We don't require a translator to laugh at the gags in this spot, either, though we won't pretend to understand them idiomatically.
But really, the video is worth a watch, if for no better reasons than to enjoy a confusion-based laugh, and to marvel at the tiny car's extremely efficient use of space. We don't expect the N Box + to be offered for sale anywhere near North America, so to get your kicks, you'll have to head below to watch the commercial.
Are you the 2014 Honda Fit?
Fri, 28 Jun 2013Despite being the oldest model in North America's subcompact sweepstakes, the current Honda Fit remains a paragon in its segment, offering unparalleled packaging, good road manners and robust reliability. In fact, even with far more modern competitors like the Chevrolet Sonic, Ford Fiesta, Hyundai Accent and Nissan Versa Note on the scene, it may well still be the best of the bunch.
All of which explains why we're so nervous about the next-generation model, shown in these apparently leaked stock shots scanned from an in-country magazine (no, that rear end really isn't that wonky, it's the page curl distorting the image).
Will the next Fit retain the current car's incredible seating flexibility? Will it still offer a sweet-shifting manual transmission and a four-cylinder seemingly happy to bounce off its rev limiter all the livelong day? We won't know until we try it, but if these shots are representative of what we can expect in North America, it certainly will look very different. While the same two-box shape with roughly the same greenhouse remains, the front end looks much more aggressive than before, with squinty-eyed headlamps blending into a Civic-like grille, all sitting over a lower fascia with unusually oversized air intakes. The profile view is dominated by the front quarterlight and a new sharply rising character line that originates in the front fenders and terminates in the headlamps.
Poor headlights cause 40 cars to miss IIHS Top Safety Pick rating
Mon, Aug 6 2018Over the past few months, we've noticed a number of cars and SUVs that have come incredibly close to earning one of the IIHS's highest accolades, the Top Safety Pick rating. They have great crash test scores and solid automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning systems. What trips them up is headlights. That got us wondering, how many vehicles are there that are coming up short because they don't have headlights that meet the organization's criteria for an "Acceptable" or "Good" rating. This is a revision made after 2017, a year in which headlights weren't factored in for this specific award. This is also why why some vehicles, such as the Ford F-150, might have had the award last year, but have lost it for this year. We reached out to someone at IIHS to find out. He responded with the following car models. Depending on how you count, a whopping 40 models crash well enough to receive the rating, but don't get it because their headlights are either "Poor" or "Marginal." We say depending on how you count because the IIHS actual counts truck body styles differently, and the Infiniti Q70 is a special case. Apparently the version of the Q70 that has good headlights doesn't have adequate forward collision prevention technology. And the one that has good forward collision tech doesn't have good enough headlights. We've provided the entire list of vehicles below in alphabetical order. Interestingly, it seems the Volkswagen Group is having the most difficulty providing good headlights with its otherwise safe cars. It had the most models on the list at 9 split between Audi and Volkswagen. GM is next in line with 7 models. It is worth noting again that though these vehicles have subpar headlights and don't quite earn Top Safety Pick awards, that doesn't mean they're unsafe. They all score well enough in crash testing and forward collision prevention that they would get the coveted award if the lights were better.
