Hi there,

You are bidding on a 1997 Honda Accord Value Package edition. The car will be sold "As Is". I currently use the car to drive to and from work (less than 5 miles). The engine and transmission are in good shape. The car has a lot of miles on it but if you know Hondas, they are equipped to go well beyond 300,000 miles. I have even know a few people to hit 500,000 miles. The car has 18 inch rims which are aluminum. It also has projector headlights which are just awesome. This is an excellent car if you like to add extras. I am selling it because I need more room because of my family. Yes!!! It does have Air Conditioning that works. The tires on the front are slightly bigger than the tires on the back. The back tires are 215 35R 18 and the front tires are 225 45R 18. I have had the car for 2 years. Since I have had it I changed the oil every 5 months because I use synthetic oil and that lasts somewhat longer than conventional oil. It has a K&N air filter which never has to be replaced. You just clean and charge it when you get a tune up. Speaking of tune up, the car was tuned up 2 months ago (plugs, wires and oil change). I had the upper ball joints replaced on the front passenger side about 3 months ago. I also had the wheel bearing changed on the front passenger side recently. If you notice on the pictures on that same side up front there is a spot where paint is missing. I had the car painted about a year and a half ago. Last summer someone scraped against it while parking. There are a few spots on the body in other places that could be touched up. The interior definitely needs a good detailing. The seats and the front floor would benefit from some deep cleaning. The car makes a vibrating noise when you first pull off after it has been sitting for about a half an hour. I am not sure what it is that is loose. I had the fenders tightened. I also replaced two of the engine mounts. I I will have my mechanic look into it further between now and the time that the car is purchased. The sound goes away after you drive for about 15 seconds. I had the starter changed about a week ago. The heating core went bad about a month ago. I did not replace it, so that is something that will need to be replaced before the winter so that you will have heat. It does leak oil a little bit. I had the valve cover gasket replaced when I had the tune up. It also needs windshield wipers. If you are the winner you are welcomed to bring a mechanic and inspect the car thoroughly. There is a notary right down the street from where I live so that the title can be signed over correctly.

Honda exclusive to McLaren at least until 2017

Wed, 23 Apr 2014

Next year Honda will return to Formula One after a seven-year absence, bringing the first Japanese automaker to compete in the top-tier racing series back into the fold. But though it started in 1964 much as it ended in 2008, running its own team (much like Ferrari and Mercedes do today), its new F1 program will see it revert to engine-supplier status (like Renault did when it sold its team to Lotus).
The arrangement will be exclusive to McLaren for the 2015 Formula One World Championship. But what fans and insiders alike have been wondering is how it might expand after that. Well, now we have at least part of the answer.
According to the F1 business insiders at Pitpass, Honda motorsport chief Yasuhisa Arai told a group of journalists at this past weekend's race in Shanghai that the deal with McLaren will be exclusive not only in 2015, but also in 2016. In other words, it won't be until 2017 at the earliest before Honda might begin supplying engines to any other teams, if at all.

FIA levels F1 playing field for Honda

Mon, Jan 19 2015

Formula One may place a high emphasis on technical innovation, but it also demands an equal playing field. So after the FIA regulations handed Mercedes a technical advantage for next season, a loophole was opened up to allow Ferrari and Renault to update their engines throughout the year. That left engine-supplier-to-be Honda in the dust, but now the motorsport governing body has awarded the Japanese automaker the same courtesy. As is often the case, the issue revolves around the specific wording of the regulations. Ferrari and Renault successfully argued that, contrary to its spirit, the letter of the law (or regulations, in any event) didn't actually specify when existing engine suppliers had to complete their revisions for the upcoming championship. The thing is that the rules were more clear when it came to new suppliers, so Honda was told that it would have to complete its design before the start of the season – unlike Ferrari, Renault and Mercedes, which would be allowed to continue development (albeit on a limited basis) throughout the year. Recognizing the inherent injustice of the resulting regulations, the FIA has consented to Honda's request that it be afforded the same opportunities as its rivals. The Japanese manufacturer, which returns to the paddock this season with McLaren, will therefore be allowed to make adjustments to its engines as its first season back on the grid progresses, just like the other engine suppliers. Honda asking used-car buyers to sign liability document [w/poll]

Thu, 31 Jul 2014

New cars under recall must be repaired before a dealer can sell them but used cars are under no such mandate.
When it comes to informing the car-buying public about potential safety hazards on used vehicles, there are two emerging schools of thought among used-car dealers.
