I am putting up my 97 Honda Accord Wagon thats been my daily driver for the past year. Im purchasing a new car and my wife wont let me keep this one.
5000 miles ago I had new timing belt, water pump, alternator fan belt, power steering belt, all new hoses (can see the tags still on the hoses) new tires. A brand new rack and pinion assembly, new front strut rod bushings, new output shaft seals, new sway bar kit. Also new heater control valve, fresh radiator coolant and brake fluid flush. Lowered on Eibach springs with alignment and camber print out. New light bulbs all around. Passes smog no problem.
Also smoked out headlights with Angel eyes and 6k HID's. Interior wise I installed a full sound system. Its not overbearingly loud but has some really good highs and enough bass. I dont like the loud obnoxious bass. Pioneer head unit with blue tooth and usb charging. Blue tooth mic hooked on upper left pillon for hands free calling. 4 kenwood 3 way speakers powered by 4 channel amp hidden under passenger seat. Infiinity soundlink 10' powered sub with manual control located under dash. Pioneer tweeters. The whole system is inconspicuously wired so nothings hanging out and about. Sunroof also works 100% with no leaks.
I have receipts for all this labor and parts and its over 3 grand. Pretty much all preventative maintenance to make sure this thing lasts, dont see enough wagons these days.
Power locks and power windows (new motor in driver window) automatic (wish it was stick). Interior is very clean for its age IMO.
Full Disclosure:
Cruise control button lights up but doesn't activate. Not sure if its a fuse or something else. Does not effect day to day driving.
Drivers side door lock takes a slight pull on the handle and push on the lock. Still locks all other doors in the process. The auto locks on the door still unlocks all the car locks but not the drivers. Cant figure out why.
No abnormal fade or sun spots in paint but there is little nicks here and there hey its a 97 lol
New belts squeal for a second on start up fade after a few seconds, not a big deal.
No idea on gas mileage I just know I get about 325-50 miles per tank.
I have new oil and filter in hand ready to be changed prior to exchange.
I am sure there is something I am missing but tried to give as much info as I could think off my head. Any questions feel free to email. Will take cash, check, money order. Will work with shipping or local pickup hell if your reasonably close Ill bring it to you.

Acura ILX headed for Civic-like early upgrades
Wed, 12 Dec 2012The not-yet-ready-for-primetime 2012 Honda Civic saw it quickly returned to sender for refurbishment, now the Acura ILX is headed in the same direction in its very first year. Automotive News reports that the small, Civic-based sedan from Honda's luxury brand isn't meeting sales expectations, with an annualized rate of 22,000 to 24,000 sales instead of the 30,000 the company is after. More telling is that the ILX "is being outsold by the Buick Verano, Volkswagen CC and Audi A4," and, except for two months since it launched, it has also been outdone by the Acura TSX it is meant to replace.
Part of the cause has been the 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine: its 150 horsepower to motivate a sedan that can weigh up to 2,970 pounds doesn't offer the kind of performance or value experience that buyers in the segment respond to. Another big issue is that the top-level 2.4-liter engine is only offered with a six-speed manual even though most buyers of the highest trim don't really want to shift their own gears. Lastly, the ILX might not put enough space between it and its frugal underpinnings - our first drive review pegged it as "the world's nicest Honda Civic."
An automatic transmission is on the way for the 2.4-liter, but it isn't clear when. And while Honda admits that the 2.0-liter is underpowered and Automotive News says it's on the way out, the company hasn't yet said how that situation will be corrected.
Even Ferrari swept up in latest Takata recall expansion
Fri, May 27 2016The scope of Takata's deadly airbag problems continues to widen. Eight manufacturers announced recalls Friday that affect more than 12 million vehicles, according to documents filed with federal regulators. The automakers include Honda, which is recalling 4.5 million units, Fiat Chrysler with 4.3 million, Toyota with 1.65 million, and Subaru, which is recalling almost 400,000. Some of these cars include the Saab 9-2x and Pontiac Vibe that Toyota and Subaru made for General Motors. Mazda will recall 730,000 vehicles and Nissan has 400,000 affected units. The smallest numbers were posted by Mitsubishi, with 38,000 Lancers manufactured from 2006 to 2007, and as a noteworthy high-end manufacturer, Ferrari is calling back 2,800 vehicles. These are all US-market cars. Beyond America, the Japanese Transport Ministry has announced seven million additional vehicles will be recalled, which means 19.6 million vehicles across the globe are affected by recalls announced. The defects have been traced to an insufficiently manufactured airbag inflator, which lacks a drying agent that would prevent the inflators from deteriorating over time. Thirteen deaths have been linked to the faulty airbags, which have become unstable and are prone to exploding and showering vehicle occupants with lethal amounts of metal shrapnel. A private equity firm, KKR & Co., has been named in a possible buyout of the struggling Takata. Honda celebrates 30th anniversary of the NSX with a look back at how it began
Thu, Feb 7 2019In 1989, the baseball-loving Japanese dipped their bats in pine tar and came to the U.S. to take gigundous swings. That single year launched five legends: Lexus LS400, Infiniti Q45, Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo, Mazda MX-5 Miata, and Acura NS-X concept. The Chicago Auto Show (!) hosted the global debuts of the Mazda and the Acura. While Mazda celebrates the bygones with the 30th Anniversary Miata, Acura's reminiscing with a look at how the NSX — a car Motor Trend described in 1990 as, "[The] best sports car the world has ever produced. Any time. Any place. Any price ..." — came to be. The development yearbook opened in 1984, a year after Honda returned to Formula One as an engine supplier for the Spirit team, and for the second Williams chassis in the last race of the season. For the first time in the automaker's history, Honda wanted to build a production car with the engine behind the cabin, one that would demonstrate Honda's engineering prowess and "deeply rooted racing spirit." The sports car would also serve as a halo for the not-yet-launched Acura brand. The engineering team built the first test vehicle in February 1984 on the bones of a first-generation Honda Jazz. After four years of formal development, Honda parked the NS-X Concept in a conference room at Chicago's Drake Hotel in February 1989. This is where the media would meet the red wonder before the public show-stand debut. The F-16 Fighting Falcon-inspired coupe was built on the world's first all-aluminum monocoque, and its SOHC V6 ran with titanium connecting rods. Before the press conference, then-Honda president Tadashi Kume got in the NS-X, started the engine, and revved to the 8,000-rpm redline — a noise felt by everyone in the adjacent conference room attending a Ford press conference. Honda's PR man at the time yelled, "Mr. Kume, stop it! They're gonna hear this!" When Kume got out, he asked Honda engineers present why they didn't put their new VTEC technology in the NS-X. (What's Japanese for, "Why didn't the VTEC kick in, yo?!") They told him VTEC had been created for four-cylinder engines. Kume told them to work on a V6 application. More suggestions came from journos who drove the early prototypes at Honda's Tochigi R&D Center, who said the NS-X "could use more power." The development team had grabbed the SOHC V6 from the Acura Legend for the NS-X concept, and it put out 160 horsepower in the luxury sedan.
