I bought this 1997 accord only about 6 months ago and the transmission went on it(I bought another off caigslist and did it myself..2 days, but this is a first for me, but wasn't that hard and I'm sure I did it right...I'm not a mechanic  but do most everything myself, just not good at electrical wiring things). Car is MINT otherwise(original paint , interior excellent, motor has 174k 4cyl vtec and runs perfect). Brand new struts all around and brake pads. Gorgeous car except something is wrong after I changed out the transmission. It works fine for a mile or so, then starts slipping like in neutral , but when I disconnect battery cable for a few moments and then reconnect it, it works fine again for a mile or so. Very weird, but I am frustrated wit it and already have $4200 into the car right now and am not familiar with electronic solenoids and other electrical things on cars. Its a beautiful car otherwise and I'd like to get at least $3,000 for it since the car really looks almost like it is NEW!!!! Seriously, its a beautiful accord and the 97's are some of the sharpest in my opinion. Its been garaged its whole life which is why I bought it, but I only put 1,000 miles on it before the problem started and I've got another car now and am not dumping more cash into it trying to "guess" what is wrong. Great for a mechanic or someone that knows more about these cars than myself. Pictures say it all. Seat covers and steering wheel cover I juist put on to protect the seats which are in perfect shape also. Dump a few dollars into it and you'll have basically a new car that looks it also. I'm not going to take a beating on it, so $3,000 is fair for the condition the car is in otherwise.  Plenty of 97 accord enthusiasts out there that would love it. Perfect for a manual tranny swap also(would definitely fix any prob with the auto tranny, but like I said, I think its electrical b/c when you disconnect/reconnect battery, all works fine again for just a little while. Selling in as-is condition on a first come, first served basis and will not hold w/out cash down. Thanks. Pics don't do it justice. The car is all original and in excellent shapebeside problem expressed. (Can have old transmission also for parts or whatever) Original paint is perfect, no dents/dings, etc.... Always waxed every few weeks... VERY nice looking Honda! I honestly don't believe you can find another 97 Honda accord ex in a s beautiful and rust free condition as this one. Welcome to inspect car prior to purchase, but info I provided here is pretty darn accurate. If you have a totaled one, with low miles, you could swap everything and have a pretty much new looking/running car, or just figure out why the thing keeps tripping something in the computer(at least that's what I think is happening because when battery disconnects/reconnects, the thing is fine for a little bit(warmed up OR cold). Could be something stupid easy, but I don't know, honest.  It started doing it shortly after I replaced the vss sensor on the transmission I put in it because the speedo and cruise stopped working. Now they both work but the other problem started within a day or two. It was a 1995 tranny I put in it, if that may have done something(and I think one said obd2 on it and the one I put in said obd1 on it(or vice-versa?).... Maybe that's what is tripping something, but like I said, I'm done guessing and pumping money into guesses. Looks as good as a car that's only a year or two old, honest! Very minor interior blemish's that are hardly even noticed unless you're me(I'm a perfectionist though)  If you want anymore detailed pics, just ask and I'll send them to you by email if that's ok.   Thanks for looking. You WON'T be disappointed by physical condition of this car. My neighbors thought it was brand new when I got it!!!!  Oh..., tires are prob about 65-70% still good and have a year or two of life still on them, depending on how many miles you drive a year.
NOTE:  I AM LISTING LOCALLY ALSO, SO MAY CANCEL LISTING AT ANY TIME. THANKS

Sunday Drive: A tale of old favorites and upcoming challengers

Sun, Oct 8 2017

Sedans and crossovers dominated the attention of our readers last week, led by the completely redesigned 2018 Honda Accord. It's the Japanese automaker's flagship, and people are seriously interested in finding out how good the latest Accord is. So interested, in fact, that no other single story came close to the brand-new Accord in Autoblog reader interest. Moving down the list we find the equally new 2018 Buick Enclave. The three-row crossover has a lot to offer a family, especially one looking for a nice, quiet ride. If you're looking for the exact opposite of nice and quiet, but still want enough room for you and your significant others, the Subaru WRX that we tested last week may be the perfect ride for you. Or, if you just want to drive fast and aren't at all worried about space, there's the Camaro SS. See? We offer something for everybody. From there, we look to the future. Who isn't interested in seeing the first fully electric vehicle from Porsche? And who isn't intrigued to see the Mission E testing alongside a gaggle of Teslas? A brand-new Jeep is always a big deal, especially when it's the revival of a classic nameplate like the Grand Wagoneer. And finally, we have something completely different: the Rezvani Tank. As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry. 2018 Honda Accord First Drive | Feels like home again 2018 Buick Enclave First Drive Review | Fortress of quietude 2018 Subaru WRX Drivers' Notes | Turbo traditionalist 2018 Chevy Camaro SS Drivers' Notes | Demonstrative power, middling interior Porsche Mission E caught testing against Teslas Jeep three-row SUV caught on public roads — Grand Wagoneer, perhaps? Fred Savage wants to narrate your home videos to practice for Honda gig

Mon, 27 Oct 2014

Honda is getting ready to launch a new advertising campaign with Fred Savage of The Wonder Years (and The Princess Bride) fame, and in order to get his voice in game shape, Savage is taking to social media to get prepared. More specifically, he's apparently interested in adding some voiceover to fun videos provided by fans of the Honda brand, and all you have to do to be considered is to get his attention on Twitter using the hashtag #HondaPromo.
We have no idea how Savage or the Honda PR team plans to choose which videos will be turned into narrated works of art, but we do think it's a pretty fun idea. So, if you happen to have a video that could use some narration, and you think Savage would provide the perfect pitch, hit him up. Oh, be sure to read the terms and conditions first.

Honda Civic Type R Concept hits the ground running ahead of Geneva debut

Mon, 03 Mar 2014

We've seen it teased, caught it testing, hell, we've even driven the thing, but until just now, we hadn't been privy to the visual drama that is the all-new Honda Civic Type R Concept. Thankfully, the day before the start of the Geneva Motor Show is about as leaky as Robert Redford's sailboat.
We'll get the full details tomorrow - which may even include a discourse on Honda's 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that will make upwards of 280 horsepower and propel the car to Nürburgring-record-braking velocities. After all, the "Concept" portion of most Honda concept cars is generally lip-service only.
In fact, save for those blacked out windows and, perhaps, a couple millimeters of ride height and those extra-aggro wheels, we pretty much expect the production Type R to look like the beast you see here. Certainly the swooping form and 'roided wheel arches suit the boy-racer persona of the Civic very well; we wouldn't even put it past Honda's funky European arm to sell the final product with some version of that bi-plane wing.
