Thanks for looking, I am listing a 1991 Honda Accord SE in excellent condition. The first owner was an older lady who bought it new is Seattle, she gave it to her daughter (in her 60's) who drove it for a few years, and I am the third owner. The car has obviously been well taken care of, its the SE so it is loaded with every option at the time. The interior is near mint, and the leather for its age is excellent with no rips, cracking ,ect. Everything is stock including the radio/cassette deck (The antenna goes up and down just fine but the little motor for it sounds like the gears may be slipping a lil, and once in awhile the right rear speaker goes out...) Exterior is great also, only one "owie" on the drivers side mirror (see pic) The tires are BRAND NEW and the brakes where just done last year. This little honda sips gas and purrs down the road straight and true. I do not know if the timing belt has been done..there are some service records from Honda of Seattle and other shops but the daughter thought her mom had it done...but I cant say for sure as I dont have any paper work and I cant find a sticker under the hood saying it has been done. Clean and cear title in my name, no accident history, or paint/body work of any kind. Zero rust as it was in a parking garage in Seattle its whole life. This car is not a meuseum piece, however I will say for a 22 year old accord you will be hard pressed to find one nicer, I get compliments often. Any questions please dont hesitate to ask. I am selling at No Reserve so bid to win,  these cars in this condition are getting harder and harder to find. photo 042_zps3d15f580.jpg photo 040_zpsfbaefeb2.jpg photo 039_zps41caf896.jpg photo 038_zps8151d103.jpg photo 037_zps1f51d033.jpg photo 036_zps9b336f9c.jpg photo 034_zps95ee28c7.jpg photo 033_zps05525822.jpg photo 031_zps9dd3cf6f.jpg photo 030_zps4c85ca0a.jpg photo 029_zpsd9254195.jpg photo 028_zps338bee88.jpg photo 026_zps34ef1492.jpg photo 025_zps3a23822b.jpg photo 024_zps87d17342.jpg photo 023_zps126538ad.jpg photo 021_zps69723c42.jpg photo 020_zps7aa6554f.jpg photo 019_zps902417da.jpg photo 018_zps9ddad351.jpg photo 015_zps6695da9f.jpg photo 014_zpsf9a77c35.jpg photo 013_zps75d8d450.jpg photo 012_zps5c660581.jpg photo 011_zps7d7eceef.jpg photo 010_zps2ef5bb4b.jpg photo 009_zps7a074ed5.jpg photo 008_zpsb2c38cd5.jpg photo 007_zps8a24b8ae.jpg photo 006_zps4f1e7f42.jpg photo 004_zpsaa51ca14.jpg photo 002_zps09804871.jpg

Petition to bring Honda Civic Type R to US picking up steam

Mon, 10 Mar 2014

Never mind what the executives say - we've had a sneaking suspicion all along that the upcoming Honda Civic Type R won't be coming to North America. And with good reason: both the prototype we drove in Japan and the concept unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show last week were based on the European-spec Civic hatchback - not to mention that some of the best hot hatches remain out of our reach.
Well it turns out we're not the only ones with that concern. There are legions of Honda hot hatch enthusiasts right here in the good old U S of A who want to see the new Civic Type R ripping up the Great American Road. And many of them are taking to the cyberclouds demanding that Honda bring it Stateside, post haste.
As of the time of writing, this online petition has gotten over 6,000 digital signatures, needing less than 1,500 more to get to the author's target of 7,500 votes. Of course, if and when the petition reaches its target, that still won't mean that Honda will bring it over, but it could mean that extra bit of encouragement the Japanese automaker's executives would need to tip the scales in our favor.

Kayaba, Sumitomo to pay millions for price-fixing in US

Sat, Sep 19 2015

Kayaba Industry Co, which does business in the US as suspension parts maker KYB, and Sumitomo Electric Industries are facing payments in the millions to settle price-fixing cases about the components that they make. As part of the Department of Justice's ongoing crackdown of price fixing in the auto industry, KYB agreed to pay $62 million and pleaded guilty to conspiracy to set the cost of shock absorbers from the mid '90s through 2012. The company allegedly worked with co-conspirators to keep the cost of the parts high, and those components then made it into vehicles from Honda, Kawasaki, Nissan, Subaru, Suzuki, and Toyota. "Any collusive agreement among competitors to restrict price competition undercuts our free enterprise system and violates the law," said Carter M. Stewart, US Attorney of the Southern District of Ohio, in the DoJ's announcement. Over the past few years, the DoJ has brought cases against 37 parts suppliers and 55 executives, leading to over $2.6 billion in fines. The investigations haven't always been so successful – some of the Japanese execs fled from the US to avoid prosecution. Critics allege that price fixing is simply how business is done. According to Automotive News, Sumitomo Electric Industries is also facing a $50 million settlement in a civil lawsuit that's related to price fixing of parts like wiring harnesses and heater control panels. The plaintiffs include owners and dealers that purchased vehicles with these parts. The company asserts that the violations are from before 2010, and it now has different process in place to avoid further violations. KYB Agrees to Plead Guilty and Pay $62 Million Criminal Fine for Fixing Price of Shock Absorbers Kayaba Industry Co. Ltd., dba KYB Corporation (KYB) has agreed to plead guilty and to pay a $62 million criminal fine for its role in a conspiracy to fix the price of shock absorbers installed in cars and motorcycles sold to U.S. consumers. According to charges filed today, KYB conspired from the mid-1990s until 2012 to fix the prices of shock absorbers sold to Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. (manufacturer of Subaru vehicles), Honda Motor Co. Ltd., Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd., Nissan Motor Company Ltd., Suzuki Motor Corporation and Toyota Motor Company, including their subsidiaries in the United States.
