CONDITION: CLEAN & Running excellent!
This is one of the cleanest aftermarket s2ks you'll ever see- FLAWLESS inside and out. I take more care of this car than my own health. All carbon fiber parts, including the hood, are in great condition with no fading at all.  The drive is smooth, the engine runs beautifully, the leather seats have no cracks or fades, there are no tears anywhere in the interior.  The hardtop can come off and the convertible top is in excellent condition, so you have the option to drive with the hardtop, soft top, or with the top down.  All buttons, lights, and electronics work properly. The paint still has its brilliant factory shine.  The rear spoiler is carbon fiber but it has been custom painted over the top of it to match the color of the car, making it look very unique and sleek.  The sound system is incredible and the bass from the alpine system is very responsive and smooth. I the four led gauges on the passenger side of the interior have been taken off but I will include them with the car if you would like to use them for more aftermarket gauges. The car is also set up perfectly for a turbo kit to be added safely since it has all the upgrades you need to manage it- for instance, it has the installed hondata flashpro engine management system with the boost-by-gear upgrade already included, an aftermarket full blown radiator and catch can, the battery relocated to the trunk (to give more space in the engine bay for breathing), and a fully built ferrea head with completely new valves, retainers, etc (pictures available upon request).  I will even INCLUDE the small laptop computer that you can use for the engine management system and for data logging, etc. and I will also include the car cover that comes with it, and all records and other miscellaneous parts I have lying around for it.   the AEM gauges are oil pressure (near the start button), volts, and wideband air/fuel ratio.  I do not have any of the stock parts left so what you see on the car is what you will get.  The pristine aftermarket parts on this car add up to thousands of dollars so although the price is negotiable, it is already a good deal considering the value of the car and the parts. The car has never been in an accident and has a clear title/record.  Feel free to come view it in person yourself and I would be glad to answer any questions you may have. I have all records and pictures of all of its past history upon request so everything is there that you need to know.  Anyone who has seen this car in person I'm sure can vouche for how clean it really is, and the handling is wonderful.

Minor issues:
There are two sensors showing on the dash board from aftermarket parts:  one sensor is the airbag sensor for when I swapped my black oem seats for red/black two tone oem seats from another s2000.  This can be turned off manually at the dealer.  The other is the TPMS sensor from switching out my rims with the custom volk rims that are on it.  Both sensors do not affect the car's drivability in anyway and they can be reprogrammed to turn off.
The other minor issue is that the left carbon fiber side diffuser has a subtle crack in the front area, the front lip of the car has some minor paint chips, and the front bumper has a brasing scratch on the left side, but it is so discreet, you can barely see it or not at all when its buffed.  All of these issues are barely noticeable- if at all.  The car itself does not have any paint defects, and of course, the decals can be taken off if you don't like them.  Overall, the car still has a mint new look to it, as you can see in the video below.  The next owner of this car is guaranteed to enjoy it!!!

NSX, S660, and a 4-motor CR-Z EV that goes like hell

Tue, Oct 27 2015

AutoblogGreen Editor-in-Chief Sebastian Blanco was my road dog while visiting Honda's R&D center in Tochigi. Over the course of a long day of briefings, driving demonstrations, and a variety of strange-flavored candies, we saw quite a lot of what the company is planning for the next generation and beyond. Of course, Sebastian and I see the world through very different eyes. So, while he was busy getting details about the FCV Clarity successor, and asking tough questions about electrification (in other words, the important stuff), I was fixating on a tiny, two-seat sports car that will never come to America. Oh, there was an NSX, too. Honda's pre-Tokyo Motor Show meeting really did have plenty to offer for all kinds of auto enthusiasts, be they focused on fast driving or environmentally friendly powertrains. Seb's attendance let me focus on the stuff that's great for the former, while he wrote up high points of the latter. View 15 Photos S660 I joke about salivating over the S660, but honestly I was at least as excited to take a few laps in Honda's Beat encore, as I was to sample the Acura supercar. Conditions for the test drive weren't ideal, however. Two laps of a four-kilometer banked oval is not exactly nirvana for a 1,800-pound, 63-horsepower roadster. Still, I folded all six feet and five inches of my body behind the tiny wheel determined to wring it out. The immersion of the driving experience was enough to make it feel fast, at least. I shifted up just before redline in first gear with the last quarter of the pit lane rollout lane still in front of me. The 658cc inline-three buzzed like a mad thing behind my ear, vastly more stirring than you'd expect while traveling about 30 miles per hour. The S660 is limited to just around 87 mph, but the immersion of the driving experience (note: I was over the windscreen from the forehead up) was enough to make it feel fast, at least. Even after just a few laps, and precious little steering, I could tell that everything I grew up loving about Honda was in play here. The six-speed manual offered tight, quick throws, the engine seemed happiest over 5,000 rpm, and the car moved over the earth with direct action and a feeling of lightness. Sure proof that you don't need high performance – the S600 runs to 60 mph in about 13 seconds – to build a driver's car. I could have used 200 miles more, and some mountain roads, to really enjoy the roadster (though I would have wanted a hat).

Acura NSX will use Cosworth block, plus other neat tidbits

Sat, Aug 15 2015

The blue NSX you see here was built just two weeks ago. Prototype number six, it rolled off Acura's newest assembly line in Ohio and was rushed out to the Monterey peninsula for various car week activities. We had a chance to sit down with several members of the NSX team to discuss the car, the long road from concept to production, and some interesting details. Below are some choice bits from our conversations. Acura is pretty proud of the fact that NSX version 2.0 was designed and is being built in the US. The new assembly line, called the Performance Manufacturing Center, is in Honda's hometown of Marysville, Ohio. While the line is brand new, the building has seen many uses over its lifetime, most recently as a warehouse facility. PMC staff numbers about 100, with 60 technical and 40 non-technical associates. The car uses parts sourced globally, and one of those sources is Cosworth. The engine blocks and heads come from the English firm and get assembled into twin-turbo powerhouses at Honda's nearby Anna, Ohio, engine plant. The Cosworth name is rarely associated with a bad engine, so we were geeked to hear the NSX's 550-plus-horsepower hybrid powertrain has good genes. Acura hasn't decided how many cars will come to the US each year, but supplies will be limited. We're told there is a total figure for global sales – basically anywhere Honda and Acura vehicles are sold – but they're not ready to divulge that number. Dealer allocation is also yet to be sorted out, although we're told that any dealer that has the necessary tools and equipment to service the new NSX will be able to sell them. Acura currently has 272 US dealers. The switch from the transverse engine originally planned to a longitudinal twin-turbo engine threw everyone involved for a loop. The designers had to lengthen their nearly finalized design, and the engineers working on the production process had to revise or redo much of their work. Though we've been waiting a while for the car since the concept first surfaced in 2012, it's pretty amazing to think that the car was engineered one and a half times and a new factory was built in about three years. But yeah, it's delayed, with series production now set to commence in the spring of 2016. One result of the switch to a longitudinal engine is a transmission hump in the cargo area aft of the engine. The hold is still sized to fit a bag of golf clubs, though it will be a tight fit.

Honda getting in on the Daytona Prototype racing action

Fri, 14 Mar 2014

Racing fans at Sebring are plenty used to seeing Honda powering into the winner's circle, the Japanese motor company having claimed class victories at the endurance race in Florida in 2007, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013. Those were all in the LMP2 category, but with the Twelve Hours of Sebring now part of the combined United SportsCar Championship, Honda is branching out into another class: Daytona Prototypes.
The purpose-built racing machinery that were once part of the Grand-Am series are now racing alongside the LMP2 prototypes from the American Le Mans Series under the united championship. So far Ford and Chevy have signed on to power the Daytona Prototypes, and now Honda's joining their ranks as the only manufacturer to field entries in both categories of the championship's Prototype class.
The competition-spec 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 revealed last month is based on the same J35 engine that powers everything from the Honda Accord to the Acura RLX and MDX. Now it will power the Riley chassis fielded by Starworks Motorsports, competing alongside the pair of Honda Performance Development (HPD) ARX-03b chassis which Extreme Speed Motorsports will campaign under LMP2 regulations, giving Honda a two-pronged, three-car assault on the top class of the new American sports car racing series.
