2005 Honda S2000

16,000 Original Miles, Meticulously Maintained, Fresh Recent Service, 2 Owners From New

I bought this Silverstone Metallic/Black-Red 2005 S2000 from the original owner, an elderly gentleman who cared for the car as if it were his baby. It had 8300 original miles when I bought. He kept all the original paperwork, bill of sale, all books, tonneau, even the plastic cover the tonneau came in, etc. I have driven it quite a bit since I got it and now shows a bit over 16,000 miles. I drive the car daily so the mileage will go up a little. The car is excellent, one of the best cars I've ever owned. I have been told by one of the country's foremost S2000 experts, who inspected the car before I bought it, that this is one of the best condition, most well maintained S2000s he's ever seen, and is rare with this low mileage. The free revving engine, great soundtrack, super short-throw gearbox, vtec rush, open top, and super direct steering and handling make for the ultimate throwback convertible. The classic convertible formula with modern power, handling and safety features.

It can be seen in NYC or Northern Westchester.

It was recently serviced by a specialty Honda S2000 shop in long island that services and modifies only these cars and nothing else. Less than a month ago it had the following full service done: oil change (synthetic mobil1 with pcx filter), diff fluid service with mobil1 75w90 (good for another 35k), axle nut torque revision, clutch adjust, throttle adjust, clutch fluid replacement with ATE Super Blue, air filter, brake fluid replacement with ATE race/street super blue, hood latch and perch adjustment, tighten rear suspension links, soft top anti-rip filing.

The original owner bought the car new and used it sparingly as a fun summer weekend car. The car is BONE STOCK other than a set of new tires, which I recently replaced with Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrical All Seasons because of the age of the previous tires.

2005 is considered by many to be the best year for the S2000 because it is the later AP2 model with the bigger motor and suspension revisions and yet was the last year before drive by wire throttle. 2006 and later also had some problems with clutch pressure sensors and popping out of 2nd gear that the 2005 doesn't have. This color combination, which I am told is the most desirable of all, was only available for a few years.

I have many more photos I can email.

Clean NY State title in my name in hand.  Sold as is, where is, with no warranties of any kind expressed or implied with regard to condition, mechantability, fitness or otherwise.

2nd annual Automobile Advertising of the Year Awards revealed

Tue, Jan 13 2015

There was some absolutely fantastic auto advertising in 2014, ranging from funny to inspiring. Marking the best of it from the past year, the Second Annual One Show Automobile Advertising of the Year Awards were announced during the 2015 Detroit Auto Show (full disclosure: Autoblog was among the award's sponsors, and Editor-in-Chief Sharon Carty was a voter). Unlike previously, there were no brands with dominance over the list this time. Presented by The One Club, the awards have an international scope and hand out honors in a variety of categories. In the Broadcast TV group, there were three winners this year. First, there was The Scripted Life from Audi for the Q3 about breaking out of life's monotony. Also, Dad's Sixth Sense from Hyundai marketed the safety features in the Genesis. Finally, Unbreakable Drivers showed manly men being tested for the Toyota Hilux in Australia. The Online Video prize went to the fantastic The Epic Split spot from Volvo Trucks starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. The best Interactive ad was the Honda video titled The Other Side for the Civic Type R, and the Experiential Advertising nod was for the Volkswagen Eyes on the Road clip that showed the dangers of texting and driving to a theater full of moviegoers in Hong Kong. Finally, the Public Choice Award went to the BMW commercial called Hello Future using the words of sci-fi author Arthur C. Clarke for the i8. In the award not for videos, Jeep won the Print/Outdoor category for its Upside Down campaign. Check the ads out below, which show different animals when upside down. Also, look farther down for all of the winning videos and read their full announcements. Honda giving away free Civics in Forza Horizon to celebrate launch

Wed, 16 Jan 2013

Just a friendly reminder from Honda: The Honda Challenge Pack DLC is now available for Forza Horizon. To reward you for the trouble of pressing a few buttons on your Xbox controller, you'll get the 2013 Honda Civic Coupe, an HPD Rally Fit and a 1986 Honda Civic Si Coupe in your garage, and you'll get them free. The event of the new DLC has also kicked off a photo contest that will reward someone with an Xbox 360 console wrapped in a Honda Civic Si theme.
Otherwise, the word "Challenge" keeps coming up because of the chance to run an online race against IndyCar driver Scott Dixon. The track for that digital throwdown has already been decided by Xbox players who voted before January 8. Yet it's not too late to hop into the Honda section in Xbox Live and lay down a time fast enough for a shot at the title "The Driver That Shellacked Scott Dixon," and meeting the man in person.
Check out the press release from Honda below, and the sweetness that is the 1986 Civic Si in the gallery above.

These were our favorite cars of 2022

Tue, Dec 20 2022

Favorite cars is different than best cars. The idea of "best" can speak to value and overall competitiveness in a given vehicle segment. There's lots of objectivity involved and to do a "best" list right, one really must be very thorough and as scientific as possible. This is not that list. This is about our favorites, so objectivity be damned. If we liked a Challenger Hellcat because it made loud noises or a Honda Odyssey because it made for a particularly special family vacation, fair game. These were the cars that most spoke to our collection of editors and the ones that stayed in our minds and hung in our hearts long after they left our driveway. — Senior Editor James Riswick 2022 GMC Hummer EV Senior Editor, Green, John Beltz Snyder: I didn't particularly expect to like the new Hummer. I wasn't a fan of the Hummer H2 or H3, so I wasn't automatically enthusiastic about this electric reboot. Fast EVs aren't hard to come by — and, in fact, may be too easy to come by — so its performance specs weren't enough to win me over. Despite videos to the contrary, pickups aren't my favorite vehicular format. And its excessive size and weight turned me off ... until I finally got behind the wheel.  This thing is wildly entertaining to drive. Watts to Freedom launch control is a neat party trick, sure, but the novelty wears off quickly. The novelty of Crab Walk, however, has staying power. The rear-wheel steering makes this behemoth feel much smaller than it is — the maneuverability is incredible, and useful. The air suspension provides tons of clearance, including a ridiculously high-riding Extract mode. I can't wait for lesser versions of the Hummer to make their way to market. Give me less power (for less money), but keep the off-road tricks onboard, and I'll be a happy camper. Senior Editor, Consumer, Jeremy Korzeniewski: If I could afford to put one of these in my driveway, I would. Sadly, I can't, so I won't (What's that, Janet? I got the lyric wrong?). Still, I love the dumb thing. Thankfully, I have another choice down below. 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 Associate Editor Byron Hurd: Yeah, duh, Porsches are good. But there's good, and then there's GT3. This is the feeling every performance-oriented RWD tuner is trying to replicate. This is hard, precise, surgical and immensely satisfying. To begin to explore this car on a public road is by itself an admission that you believe yourself to be above the rules as they apply to normal drivers.
