Up for sale is my 2004 Honda s2000 with Silverstone metallic exterior and Black leather interior. I bought this car in October 2012 with a salvage title. It was totaled at 99k miles due to a minor front left collision(see pictures below). Airbags were not deployed. Only the front bumper, hood, left headlight and left fender needed replacement. I have the receipts for the parts that were replaced and the work done(see picture below). After the repairs were completed the car was taken to NY DMV for salvage inspection and it was approved. I was issued a New York state rebuilt title and since then I've been driving it daily for the last ~7k miles.

Mechanically the car is in excellent condition. It runs and drives perfectly, no mechanical issues at all. There are a few scratches and rock chips on the body(see pictures below). The convertible top is a newer one in good condition with no holes or tears. The interior is clean with only the driver seat outer bolster, floor mat and the steering wheel showing signs of wear(see pictures below). I'm a non-smoker and I never ate inside the car. If you're picky about the looks then the car will need a little TLC on the outside but otherwise it's perfect for daily driving as it sits.

All maintenance was done by myself. Engine oil/filter was changed in 3k mile intervals with Mobil1 oils and Honda filters. Transmission, differential, brake and clutch fluid's were changed when I first bought the car with Honda MTF, Mobil 75w-90 and ATE super blue respectively. I have since changed these once again a few weeks ago.

Under my ownership I also added the following;

OEM Hardtop($3400)
CR Front Under spoiler($530+paint)
Advan RS wheels($2900+Tires+High type Center Caps+Ray's Duralumin locking lug nuts). I also have two spares, brand new in box($1450)
Moddiction Anvil2 Shift knob($65)

The Hardtop isn't included with this auction, but the rest are. I also have the stock wheels with barely used tires and stock shift knob included in this auction.

Vehicle pickup is the responsibility of the buyer. I accept cash or cashier's check for payment. Funds need to clear before the car is released. All sales are final and the car is sold as-is. I have the title in hand, ready to be transferred. Car comes with 1 key and 1 remote. Thank you for looking.

Acura NSX production delayed

Fri, Aug 14 2015

Listeners of the Autoblog Podcast will be familiar with my opinions on the Acura NSX. While I love the idea of Acura building a halo car again, I've routinely joked on-air that the car will never, ever reach production and will continue being teased and previewed ad nauseam. So I'm chuckling at this news: the NSX is being delayed again. To be fair, while it sounds like a big deal – pushing the NSX back from model year 2016 to 2017 – this is a fairly minor delay in the grand scheme. Instead of starting production this fall, as previously announced, the new supercar will start rolling down the line at Honda's Marysville, OH factory in the spring. "Trial production" has already started, Honda says, while briefly acknowledging the delay in the attached press release. While Honda offered no reason for the delay in volume production, Automobile claims it's the fault of the move to fit two turbochargers to the V6, which was made midway through development. Fitting the two iron lungs meant rearranging the six-pot into a longitudinal layout. Here's hoping there are no further delays. Scroll on for a look at Honda's press release, which does its best to gloss over the NSX delay while talking about the company's new Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville. Related Video: Performance Manufacturing Center: Precision Craftsmanship Aug 14, 2015 - CARMEL-BY-THE-SEA, Calif. The next-generation Acura NSX is produced at the new, dedicated Performance Manufacturing Center (PMC) in Marysville, Ohio, using domestic and globally sourced parts. With trial production already underway and production start-up scheduled for spring 2016, this world-class manufacturing facility employs groundbreaking techniques in weld, body construction, body painting, final assembly and quality confirmation to ensure the highest levels of precision and craftsmanship. More details on the unique and innovative manufacturing processes at the PMC will be rolled out over the months leading up to the start of production, but the following highlights of the new facility were shared during the 2015 Monterey Automotive Week: Innovative blend of people and technology: throughout the PMC, NSX production is centered around the skills of approximately 100 experienced engineers and technicians building the NSX to precise levels of quality and craftsmanship.

Asian automakers still reluctant to use more aluminum

Tue, Jun 24 2014

There's a logical progression of technology in the auto industry. We've seen it with things like carbon-ceramic brakes, which use to be the sole domain of six-figure sports cars, where they often cost as much as an entry level Toyota Corolla. Now, you can get them on a BMW M3 (they're still pricey, at $8,150). Who knows, maybe in the next four a five years, they'll be available on something like a muscle car or hot hatchback. Aluminum has had a similar progression, although it's further along, moving from the realm of Audi and Jaguar luxury sedans to Ford's most important product, the F-150. With the stuff set to arrive in such a big way on the market, we should logically expect an all-aluminum Toyota Camry or Honda Accord soon, right? Um, wrong. Reuters has a great report on what's keeping Asian manufacturers away from aluminum, and it demonstrates yet another stark philosophical difference between automakers in the east and those in the west. Of course, there's a pricing argument at play. But it's more than just the cost of aluminum sheet (shown above) versus steel. Manufacturing an aluminum car requires extensive retooling of existing factories, not to mention new relationships with suppliers and other logistical and financial nightmares. Factor that in with what Reuters calls Asian automaker's preference towards "evolutionary upgrades," and the case for an all-aluminum Accord is a difficult one. Instead, manufacturers in the east are focusing on developing even stronger steel as a means of trimming fat, although analysts question how long that practice can continue. Jeff Wang, the automotive sales director for aluminum supplier Novelis, predicts that we'll see a bump in aluminum usage from Japanese and Korean brands in the next two to three years, and that it will be driven by an influx of aluminum-based vehicles from western automakers into China. Only time will tell if he's proven right. News Source: ReutersImage Credit: Sean Gallup / Getty Images Plants/Manufacturing Honda Hyundai Mazda Nissan Toyota Technology aluminum

2023 Japan Mobility Show Mega Photo Gallery: All the highlights and reveals from Tokyo

Fri, Oct 27 2023

The 2023 Japan Mobility Show managed to serve up a surprise heap of exciting and futuristic designs and production reveals. Our staff was on the ground in Tokyo for this year's show, where we captured not just all of the latest automotive trends, but some genuinely weird and fascinating stuff.  Browse: Some Delightful Oddities of the 2023 Japan Mobility Show But on to the cars. This year's show featured introductions from Daihatsu, Honda, Lexus, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, Suzuki and Toyota. Some are weird; some are wild; most are probably destined to change significantly before production or merely fade into the void with the rest of the industry's vaporware, but if even a few of these make it to showrooms, we'll consider it a win. Scroll on down for our live galleries of each of the show's major debuts (and cars we're only now seeing in person for the first time).
