2001 Honda S2000 Convertible 2-door 2.0l on 2040-cars
Akron, Ohio, United States
2001 Honda S2000 in Silverstone Metallic for sale. I have owned this fantastic car since 2008 and it has performed flawlessly. Despite the fact that there are 132000 miles it runs and drives just like new. I really didn’t want to ever sell this vehicle but I just don’t need an extra one right now. This car has been my daily driver up until this winter. It has never been autocrossed or tracked, and was never super or turbocharged. Here’s a list of the tasteful mods I have done: AUT Carbon Fiber Cooling Plate Stainless Brake Hoses Russell Speed Bleeders - makes changing brake fluid a breeze All suspension bushings replaced with Energy Suspension bushings LED dome lighting OEM style trunk spoiler Rick’s Signature Leather Head Rest Inserts K&N FIPK v2 air intake Berk High Flow Cat 63mm Ground Control Coilovers Qube Engineering LED dash in white, also included is a blue diffuser Moddiction Stainless Steel Round Anvil engraved countersunk shift knob iPhone/iPod holder and adapter Full height rear wind deflector Robbins cloth soft top with upgraded rear glass window with functioning defrost Factory Radio replaced with Kenwood KDC-348U CD Receiver Speakers upgraded to Sony XSGT1638F 6.5" Car Speakers Rare black chrome front, rear, and side badges Included are the following stock parts: OEM Cat OEM air intake box, hoses, and air filter (only 1700 miles) OEM springs and shocks OEM dash “80’s orange” diffuser OEM aluminum shift knob OEM start button (new never installed) Factory radio with iPod/iPhone adapter OEM chrome side badges OEM Bosch front oxygen sensor (new never installed) OEM Rear tow hook cover Both winter and summer tires and wheels will be included. Summer tires are mounted on Honda OEM rims and have 3000 miles (rear) and 11000 miles (front). Winter tires have about 2500 miles on them. I have been meticulous about maintenance and repairs. I would not hesitate to drive this any distance across the country. The F20c engine is known to last over 300,000 miles with proper maintenance, so there’s plenty of life left. I will also include a full tank of premium 93 octane gas with purchase; I hate buying a car just to have to stop at the first gas station you pass. The paint is in good condition, however it does have 132000 miles and is not perfect. This color hides imperfections very well, so they don't show up in the pictures. There is one ding behind the drivers door from a shopping cart (?) but there are no other dents and all chips or scratches are too small to be seen from more than a few feet away.
Due to problems selling other vehicles in the past, I will only allow test drives with cash in hand, but I will drive. Lowball offers will be ignored. Please have your finances in order before making a bid. I will not accept a deposit to hold the vehicle, nor will I accept personal checks or money orders for payment. Certified checks will probably be held by my bank for up to 14 days. During this time neither the vehicle nor title will be released. Wire transfer is the fastest method. Shipping will be at buyer's expense. If you have any questions please ask them. |

Honda sending two NSX racers and new EV concept to Pikes Peak
Fri, Mar 11 2016Honda is always good for a few interesting Pikes Peak entries. In 2015, Acura supplied a 2017 NSX prototype for pace-car duty. This time around, two NSXes will compete alongside a reconfigured version of the company's four-motor electric racecar. Those aren't the 2016 entries above. The one on the right is last year's pace car and the one on the left is a first-gen NSX that did the hillclimb the past few years. The 2016 cars haven't been unveiled yet, but we know that one will be in the Time Attack 2 Production class, which is mostly stock with the addition of items like a roll cage, and the other will be in Time Attack 1. TA 1 allows modifications to the powertrain, additional aero aids, suspension changes, and other tweaks, so expect to see a lot more power and a big wing on the back. The cars will be driven by James and Nick Robinson, brothers who work for Honda R&D in Ohio. Honda will use a version of the four-motor electric powertrain from its 2015 CR-Z Exhibition class entry in a new EV. (We got to drive a non-race tune of this setup in Japan last year.) The 2016 version, which will wear a different body, moves to the Electric - Electric Modified class of last year's frontrunners. We're told this car is aiming for an overall win at the 2016 race; the CR-Z took 11th place overall in 2015. The EV will again be driven by Tetsuya Yamano, a Japanese Super GT driver. Oh, and there will of course be a factory entry or two from Honda's Powersports division. Honda engineer Keith Steidl will ride a 2015 TRX1000 ATV in the Pikes Peak Challenge - Exhibition Powersport class. In the past, Honda has fielded plenty of other neat stuff in the Race to the Clouds. In 2012, it ran an NSX fitted with a twin-turbo V6 from an LMP2 car, and the 2013 race saw the very practical 532-horsepower turbocharged Odyssey minivan join the Exhibition class. The 2016 race marks the Pikes Peak hillclimb's 100th anniversary (but not the 101st running since competition took some breaks back in wartime). We're looking forward to June already. Honda recalling nearly 900,000 Odyssey minivans over fire fear
Mon, 17 Mar 2014Honda is recalling nearly 900,000 2005 to 2010 model year Odyssey minivans due to a fault with the fuel pump that could cause them to catch fire.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration filling, if exposed to "acidic chemicals and a high temperature environment," the cover of the fuel pump strainer could crack and cause a gasoline smell in the minivan or possibly allow the fuel to leak out. Denso supplied the fuel pumps on the vehicles, and the report says that Honda first began studying the problem in October 2012 but didn't finally confirm the cause until March 6, 2014. The recall affects 886,815 Odysseys, and Honda has received 187 warranty claims related to the issue. However, there have been no fires or injures reported.
Unfortunately, Honda says that it currently doesn't have enough replacement fuel pumps to fix all of the vehicles and doesn't expect to have the parts ready until this summer. It's sending a letter to owners telling them about the recall and is sending a second notification when the pieces are at dealers. The entire notification including affected VINs can be viewed as a PDF here, and the shortened version from the NHTSA can be viewed below.
Mom Accidentally Steals Honda In Brooklyn
Thu, Apr 17 2014The owner of a 1993 Honda Accord that was accidentally stolen by a young Brooklyn woman's mother has the car back in her possession, after amusing posters popped up all over town. Cheryl Thorpe traveled to New York from her home in Houston to watch her daughter's dog while she and her roommates went on vacation, according to New York Magazine. Thorpe was also left the task of moving the three girls' cars to legal parking spots on a street-cleaning day. She dutifully moved the Fiat, Honda CR-V and Accord, but when the trio returned from their vacation something was wrong. The owner of the Accord found her car right where she left it, thankfully free of parking tickets. The Accord Thorpe had moved belonged to someone else. As it turns out, some older Hondas have interchangeable keys. Thorpe was able to use the girl's keys to move Emily Hickert's car while she ate brunch. Hickert spent an entire week thinking a professional car thief had made off with her 21-year-old ride. "In less than 40 seconds she gets in the car and goes," Hickert told The New York Post, after reviewing security footage from a nearby business. "I thought she was a professional." Hickert filed a police report, while Thorpe's daughter posted fliers all over Brooklyn looking for the Accord's owner. Hickert was eventually reunited with her Honda, which had been towed after sitting parked on the street. She says she bears no ill will towards the women involved in the mix up. "I'm not upset with her," Hickert told The Post. "I'm glad it wasn't a thief. I just didn't know why anyone would steal a 1993 Honda."
