I have been a serious motorcycle rider for the past five years - had eleven bikes, training from the top US school, spent thousands of hours and dollars at it. Had accident, said to myself, enough. Thought to treat myself to a sports car. Considered a few - S2000, Miata, Mini Cooper among others. Research of many forums, user groups, web sites, friends who had them all, dealers I know, 100% said to get the S2000. Without exception. Startling response. Never had such a one-sided response ever. Found a great car nearby from a terrific honest young guy who owns custom car businesses, fabricates carbon fiber body parts, builds cars from scratch, has a couple S2000s. He got this one from his buddy who owns tow lots. Car had been towed. Wealthy owner let it set. His buddy put in what money, repairs, upgrades would be of value. Owner still unresponding. Buddies went through expensive process to get new title and take possession. My title thus says "formerly abandoned." My seller bought it from him, replaced and went through everything as the below text says. I loved him and the car, took it home. Long story short, the car may be not a fit for my back nor my wife's so after less than two weeks, out it goes. Bought it 11/18/13. With permission I copy and insert my seller's ad text and photos. I completely reserve the right and prerogative to change my mind and keep it or to sell it locally off ebay. I own two other ebay accounts that at the moment have 8679 100% positive feedbacks in the past half year so I would consider myself a pretty safe seller. Please feel free to ask me any questions. To find a buyer and a car like this is a rare treat. I didn't want to hurt his feelings because I was selling it, and he had treated me great. He was very kind about it all. This parenthetical story may be of no value to you but to me it shows the context of this car and its value to me.

"This is a 4 owner car with a clean title. The car is in very good condition. The body is in great shape. The paint looks new and is the original Honda paint job. There is a crack on the corner of the rear bumper and three small scratches on the body. The interior is in incredible shape for the age and mileage on the car. There is normal wear on the driver seat. The top is original and was well maintained. No leaks or tears in top. Car was recently serviced on 9/11/13 and inspected. I had the entire car looked over for anything that would possibly break at later date and everything was solid. All of the owners of this car really took care of it. Here is a list of parts and services I had performed on the vehicle to make sure it was in excellent condition for whoever buys the car: Clutch master cylinder replaced W/ OEM Honda parts Battery replaced W/ OEM Honda battery Exhaust replaced W/ OEM Honda exhaust Coil pack replaced W/ OEM Honda part oil change and top off all fluids 4 new Yokohama tires. This car has all original Honda Genuine parts on it. Nothing was replaced with aftermarket replacement parts. Upgrades: Elbrus lightweight aluminum wheels Injen Cold Air Intake Alpine Cd Player w/ USB and Aux port for smart phones and Pandora control Bluetooth Hands-free calling Bluetooth Audio - smartphone automatically syncs with radio when car is started and starts playing you music stored on your phone ***The stereo sounds incredible even with the top down*** I love this car and really don't want to part with it, but I am making a career change and need to let it go.  I have put a good amount of money into this car to make sure it is in perfect running condition so the new owner doesn't need to worry about anything."

Cafe racer motorbikes storm Japan

Fri, 22 Nov 2013

Japan may be best known, at least among motorcycle enthusiasts, for its sport bikes. But as we found at the Tokyo Motor Show this year, Japanese motorcycle manufacturers are capable of producing all kinds of motorbikes. And to our delight, that includes cafe racers.
Along with the myriad electric bikes, dirt bikes, crotch rockets and scooters, the halls of Tokyo's Big Site convention center this year were full of the retro-infused rides we love. Chief among them was the Bolt (shown above) which Yamaha exhibited alongside their various electric two-wheelers, sporting a delicious metallic blue paintjob, inverted handlebars and hanging mirrors, machined metal bits, blacked-out trim and saddle brown leatherwork.
Honda was also on hand with a new EX version of its '70s-style CB1100 retro roadster in sinister and low-key matte black. And this was our first chance to check out BMW Motorrad's new birthday present to its 90-year-old self, the R NineT, a model recently unveiled at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan. But one of the most amusing retro rides we came across was the Honda Monkey Limited, a mini bike that makes the new 125cc Grom (which was displayed alongside it) look positively gigantic.

2014 Honda Grom motorcycle is a 125cc-shot of awesome [w/video]

My very first turn at the handlebars of a motorcycle came courtesy of an MSF Honda CB125. Despite the fact that it wore a very stern sticker on the tank warning all who rode that it was for instructional purposes only and not for legal sale, I wanted nothing more than to ride it past the cones of my license test and straight home. There was just something about the lightweight, low-power machine that just felt right. Now Honda is giving American buyers the chance to take home something similar. Meet the Grom. Yes, it's basically a sexed-up scooter, but that's fine by me.
There's a fuel-injected 125cc single pushing the fat-tired bike around, and a four-speed gearbox handles shifting duty. The smallish 12-inch wheels give the Grom a bit of a goofball appearance, but the handsome bodywork and gold forks help offset the look. Something tells me this joker is more fun than should be legal. Check out a fun video of the bike in action by scrolling down, and while you're there, you'll find a full press release on all of the new Honda powersports models, including the Grom. You can also head over to the Honda consumer site for more information. The bike will land in showrooms this August with an MSRP of $2,999.

The cars that won't live to see 2015 [w/video]

Every year in the fast-paced automotive industry brings new models, but it also spells the end for some that have been less successful. This year will be no exception.
Japan's automakers make up the bulk of the list of discontinued models for the 2015 model year: Acura is replacing the TL and TSX with the new TLX sedan, Honda is bidding farewell to the Fit EV as the new Fit hatchback takes its place, and Nissan is saying goodbye to both the Cube and Murano CrossCabriolet. Both the Nissan Maxima and Mazda2 exit stage left before their upcoming replacements arrive, while Toyota is terminating the RAV4 EV and FJ Cruiser as well as the Scion xD, and Lexus IS C and IS F that are being effectively replaced by the new RC. Meanwhile Infiniti is finally discontinuing the G37 that was already replaced by the newer Q50.
From our own domestic automakers, Cadillac discontinues the CTS-V sedan and wagon as the new CTS rolls in, Chevy is canceling the mild-hybrid Eco versions of the Malibu and Impala sedans, and Chrysler is killing off the 200 convertible as the new 200 sedan arrives.
