1996 Honda Prelude Si Coupe - All Original -- Near New Condition -- No Reserve! on 2040-cars
Plain City, Ohio, United States
I have a pristine / rare '96 Prelude Si for sale. 2 owner car that's spent the majority of it's life in a garage. Words can't do the condition justice. No joke. It is basically a near new '96 Prelude that belongs in the Honda Motegi Museum in Japan. Some details: - Only 70,500 miles on original H23 motor. - Spotless CarFax. - Rust free, straight, body with super high gloss original paint (recently professionally polished). - PERFECT interior. PERFECT!! Original stain-free Honda floor mats. Carpets have never seen a foot print! - Perfect engine room, trunk area and jambs. - Largely rust-free underbody with matching Vin# tags on all major body parts. - Rides and handles unbelievably -- basically new condition. - It likely has never seen a Winter and obvious that it may have rarely even been wet! Recent Services: - New exhaust from catalytic converter back. - Newer Dunlop tires with less than 10k miles. - All fluids up to date. - Valve adjustment. - New spark plugs and wires. Only mechanical issue is an illuminated ABS light despite which was repaired previously at a local Honda dealer. Other than that, the car needs nothing and would make an awesome daily driver, or weekend show car. If you're an enthusiast that has scoured the planet as I have looking for an untouched, all original, 3rd GEN (digital dash) Prelude, this is maybe your last opportunity as Preludes are impossible to find unmolested, especially this generation. The car is priced to sell as I don't have room to store it for the Winter. Car was purchased for $10,500 from a local Acura dealer only 20k miles ago!! Serious inquiries preferred. More pics are available on request.....thanks for looking. |

Honda N Box + has incredible versatility as oddly humorous JDM video shows
Thu, 10 Oct 2013We want the Honda N Box +. Strangely enough, this video spot, shot in Japanese and gushing with production values that are a bit foreign to us, makes us want the little Honda even more. You see, we don't need to know Japanese to see that the kei car's 'universal bridge' feature isn't a gimmick - it actually looks extremely convenient - and that the car's multi-space system takes interior functionality to a new level. We don't require a translator to laugh at the gags in this spot, either, though we won't pretend to understand them idiomatically.
But really, the video is worth a watch, if for no better reasons than to enjoy a confusion-based laugh, and to marvel at the tiny car's extremely efficient use of space. We don't expect the N Box + to be offered for sale anywhere near North America, so to get your kicks, you'll have to head below to watch the commercial.
Recharge Wrap-up: First VW e-Golf in US up for auction, meet Project Ain't Fuelin'
Tue, Oct 14 2014Volkswagen is auctioning the first e-Golf in the US to raise money for Global Green USA. The auction is live now, and bidding goes until 3:30 pm Eastern on October 29. Global Green USA will use the proceeds to help find solutions to climate change, and the winner will get to enjoy emissions-free driving before the car e-Golf goes on sale in November. If you don't live in or near California, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont or Washington DC, you might want to sit this one out, as the car will only be available to pick up at dealers in those initial launch states. Go bid now, or learn more in the press release below. Berlin, Germany will use Solaris electric buses for a complete bus line in 2015. The downtown line will run 3.8 miles between Zoologischer Garten Station and Sudkreuz. The transport operator Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) will use four of the Solaris e-buses for the test, each about 39 feet long. The buses use a 200-kilowatt inductive charging system at the ends of the line to recharge in just a few minutes. The government-funded test runs through 2016, but BVG pans to use the electric buses beyond that timeline. Read more at Green Car Congress. The American Petroleum Institute (API) is worried that the Obama administration will use ethanol requirements to influence a Senate race in Iowa. In the midst of a close race against Republican Joni Ernst, Representative Bruce Braley, the Democratic candidate, is urging Obama to reject a cut in the Renewable Fuel Standard. The November election approaches, meanwhile the EPA continues to delay issuing an ethanol requirement for the year, with or without its proposed 16-percent reduction. Rejecting the cut could help get farmers and ethanol producers on the side of Braley. "We are very concerned that the signals we are seeing from the administration is that the political calculations are outweighing sound fuels policy," says API's Bob Greco. Read more at Businessweek. Project Ain't Fuelin' aims to fix up old cars to return them to original fuel economy, and then surpass it. Episode 3 of Valvoline's Under The Hood video series features Daniel Gray of MPGomatic, who is doing just that to a 1999 Honda Civic HX Coupe. He aims to get 50 mpg out of the old Civic by tuning it up, tinkering with the aerodynamics, switching to more efficient tires and other modifications.
FIA levels F1 playing field for Honda
Mon, Jan 19 2015Formula One may place a high emphasis on technical innovation, but it also demands an equal playing field. So after the FIA regulations handed Mercedes a technical advantage for next season, a loophole was opened up to allow Ferrari and Renault to update their engines throughout the year. That left engine-supplier-to-be Honda in the dust, but now the motorsport governing body has awarded the Japanese automaker the same courtesy. As is often the case, the issue revolves around the specific wording of the regulations. Ferrari and Renault successfully argued that, contrary to its spirit, the letter of the law (or regulations, in any event) didn't actually specify when existing engine suppliers had to complete their revisions for the upcoming championship. The thing is that the rules were more clear when it came to new suppliers, so Honda was told that it would have to complete its design before the start of the season – unlike Ferrari, Renault and Mercedes, which would be allowed to continue development (albeit on a limited basis) throughout the year. Recognizing the inherent injustice of the resulting regulations, the FIA has consented to Honda's request that it be afforded the same opportunities as its rivals. The Japanese manufacturer, which returns to the paddock this season with McLaren, will therefore be allowed to make adjustments to its engines as its first season back on the grid progresses, just like the other engine suppliers.
