I have owned this car since 1998, over 16 years! This is the most reliable car I have ever owned and never left me stranded. EVER. It was my daily driver for the last 15 of the 16 years I have owned it, and I am only selling it as I have 2 young kids now and cannot put the kids in this car, so I now have a 4 door sedan with child seats. This car was never raced, never modified. All OEM, stock except for Brembo brakes and a flowmaster header. I have the original Honda header and will give you with the car. I have taken meticulous care of this car, from waxing twice a year, to oil changes every 3000 miles, all done myself. What's new: transmission was rebuilt at 194,000 miles, and has been fantastic and like brand new since. No issues at all. radiator and all cooling hoses were replaced around 196,000 miles 15" Goodyear Eagle GT tires have less than 2000 miles on them and are fantastic all season tires. This is my 3rd set of them! Just passed NYS inspection Car is super-clean inside and out. This was my baby for the last 16 years. No smoke, no pets, no spilled drinks/food, nothing. Just clean OEM interior and mats (prelude mats were covered with rubber mats so they are MINT) - I have an extra set of 14" steel wheels & tires with Honda hub caps, if you want them too - free with sale Things to consider: - Engine does burn oil. Anyone that is familiar with the 1991 2.1 engine is aware that Honda used a new material for the cylinder liners, and this leads to oil consumption, but the engines still run fine, and almost forever. I run thicker 10W40 high mileage oil and Lucas oil for extra protection and reduced consumption. - The passenger lock does not open with the key, but can be locked/unlocked from the inside. The key is worn from so many years of use, but the doors do lock, and there is a working alarm. - Rust in some spots, (typical Honda rust locations) as described and shown in photos - Yes, there is a salvage title. There was when I bought the car in 1998. I believe the carfax said that it was stolen back in 1993 or so, and recovered. In the 16 years I have had this car, I have not had any issues related to this. - There is no warranty, of course. Neither expressed nor implied. Car will be sold as-is. |

The cars that won't live to see 2015 [w/video]
Wed, 23 Jul 2014Every year in the fast-paced automotive industry brings new models, but it also spells the end for some that have been less successful. This year will be no exception.
Japan's automakers make up the bulk of the list of discontinued models for the 2015 model year: Acura is replacing the TL and TSX with the new TLX sedan, Honda is bidding farewell to the Fit EV as the new Fit hatchback takes its place, and Nissan is saying goodbye to both the Cube and Murano CrossCabriolet. Both the Nissan Maxima and Mazda2 exit stage left before their upcoming replacements arrive, while Toyota is terminating the RAV4 EV and FJ Cruiser as well as the Scion xD, and Lexus IS C and IS F that are being effectively replaced by the new RC. Meanwhile Infiniti is finally discontinuing the G37 that was already replaced by the newer Q50.
From our own domestic automakers, Cadillac discontinues the CTS-V sedan and wagon as the new CTS rolls in, Chevy is canceling the mild-hybrid Eco versions of the Malibu and Impala sedans, and Chrysler is killing off the 200 convertible as the new 200 sedan arrives.
Ford tumbles to second worst in Consumer Reports reliability survey, list dominated by Japanese [w/video]
Mon, 29 Oct 2012It's no secret that MyFord Touch has had its share of problems since being introduced, but the most recent reliability survey from Consumer Reports shows just how much this infotainment system has affected Ford. Just two years ago, the automaker was in the top 10 for the institute's reliability rankings, but since then, it has tumbled to the second-lowest rung just above dead-last Jaguar. In addition to MyFord Touch, CR also attributes a handful of new products that have had issues right out of the gate.
Compiled from 1.2 million subscriber surveys, this year's auto reliability survey heavily favors Japanese automakers, with eight of the 10 spots hailing from Japan. Toyota brands grabbed the top three spots (Scion, Toyota and Lexus - in that order) with Mazda, Subaru, Honda and Acura filling the next four spots. The only non-Asian automaker cracking the top 10 was Audi at number eight.
Audi climbed a total of 18 spots from last year, and Cadillac and GMC round out this year's top gainers breaking into the top 15. Helping Cadillac's upward movement, the CTS Coupe was named the most reliable domestic car. Lincoln, Volvo and Chrysler join Ford on this year's biggest loser list.
Honda Accord, Civic are America's most stolen cars
Tue, 20 Aug 2013The National Insurance Crime Bureau has released its latest Hot Wheels study on the most popular stolen cars and trucks for 2012. The study has changed a bit from past years, with the new findings listing only the make and model of each vehicle, while taking into account all model years in its totals. Previous iterations only focused on the most stolen vehicles of a particular model year, with that make and model not appearing anywhere else on the list so as not to appear to call out a particular car. Confusing, eh? Said another way, in previous studies, if the three most stolen vehicles were the 2006, 2007 and 2008 Belchfire Turbo from Fictitious Motors, only the model year with the highest number of thefts would make the list.
The new study takes all model years into consideration while breaking down the number of vehicles stolen per model year in a full, in-depth report. Separately, the NICB is also listing the top 25 new vehicles stolen in 2012. That list is limited exclusively to model year 2012 entries.
Honda took the top two spots in the most stolen vehicles list, with 58,596 Accord models stolen and 47,037 Civic models stolen. The study is interesting, though, in that the most recent model year for the Accord is 1997, while the most recent the Civic is 2000. In fact, Hondas from 1990 to 2000 make up 16 of the top 20 cars stolen in 2012, according to the NICB. Compare that with the MY2012 list, where Honda's vehicles are eleventh and fifteenth, and it looks like the Japanese brand has been beefing up its theft control.
