This is a fun car! I have owned it for a couple of years, making improvements all along. When I got it a fresh paint job had just been done by the local community college with a black and red metal flake. I added the pin stripes and vinyl lady bugs. All that can be removed. The lady bugs are because wife did not want large Asian dragon that I chose! lol! The wheels have hand painted trim. Good tires. New brake pads and drilled and slotted rotors all the way around. I replaced seats with 1989 seats, did not realize they would not just drop in so I had to fabricate mountings, they do not slide back and forth but the originals were shot. I do still have them I think, at least one but I cut some mounting parts of if I remember correctly. The windows have a legal tinting. There is an alpine stereo and new speakers. New floor mats. When I got it there was a new clutch, timing belt, and the flywheel had been lightened. I have replaced the radiator, idle air control valve, injectors, head, water pump, new exhaust with stainless headers, muffler, all the way back. Has a good rumble that is not that cat back pooting sound. Most of the engine still has emissions stuff, I have also made a sort of cold air intake, just a new filter and intake arrangement really. Powder coating and painting of engine parts. Spare clutch cable. It needs a few things like the thermovacuum switch on the thermostat housing. The drivers door is a pain, if you don't unlock it before you try to open it from the inside it will stick and you will have to open the window and open from the outside- can't figure that one out. I believe some of the smog stuff still needs replacing.Sometimes it smokes until it is warm, not sure about that either with new valve seals on the head? The compression is above 175# on all cylinders. I have not exceeded 4000 rpm. A/C works but could probably use a leak check and the fan is weak as they all are. I have added some fog lights and red ground effect lighting. New headlights. I may have forgotten some things as I have done so much but I like it and trust it at over 30 mpg! It is a classic head turner! I can take more pictures if you want, I already had these on my computer. All in all it is a fun sporty classical car! I am only selling because I have too many and am shifting priorities to a Toyota Supra. I am listing locally so reserve the right to sell locally. This is an ad so make an offer. Thanks.

Petition to bring Honda Civic Type R to US picking up steam
Mon, 10 Mar 2014Never mind what the executives say - we've had a sneaking suspicion all along that the upcoming Honda Civic Type R won't be coming to North America. And with good reason: both the prototype we drove in Japan and the concept unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show last week were based on the European-spec Civic hatchback - not to mention that some of the best hot hatches remain out of our reach.
Well it turns out we're not the only ones with that concern. There are legions of Honda hot hatch enthusiasts right here in the good old U S of A who want to see the new Civic Type R ripping up the Great American Road. And many of them are taking to the cyberclouds demanding that Honda bring it Stateside, post haste.
As of the time of writing, this online petition has gotten over 6,000 digital signatures, needing less than 1,500 more to get to the author's target of 7,500 votes. Of course, if and when the petition reaches its target, that still won't mean that Honda will bring it over, but it could mean that extra bit of encouragement the Japanese automaker's executives would need to tip the scales in our favor.
Honda celebrates the life of Ayrton Senna the best way it knows how
Fri, 26 Jul 2013Honda is returning to Formula One in 2015 with McLaren, and when that engine maker and that F1 constructor are mentioned together, two other words are never far behind: Ayrton Senna. There are engine suppliers, constructors and drivers that have bigger numbers, but those three form a triumvirate that came close to defining F1 in the eighties.
Honda Japan has produced a commercial called Sound of Honda that celebrates Senna at a race that turned out to be one of the most momentous of his career for good and bad reasons: the 1989 grand prix at Suzuka where he won, then was stripped of, the driver's championship.
The commercial has a terrifically simple premise - there's no CG, no old footage of Senna, no one says a word, it's just sound. And it's pretty damn good. Check it out below.
eBay Find of the Day: Ayrton Senna's 1993 Honda NSX
Fri, 09 Aug 2013It's not often that things owned by the late Ayrton Senna come up for sale, but the seller of this black-on-black 1993 Honda NSX (aka, Acura NSX) eBay find claims it was once owned by the Formula One legend, and that he left a footprint on the factory carpet that can still be seen today. (Footprint, or vacuum lines?...)
NSX no. T000999 was given to Senna as a gift from his mentor and sponsor, Antonio de Almeida Braga, the seller claims, and it was stored at a palace near the Estoril F1 circuit in Portugal. He also was known to drive two other NSXs, a black one and a red one - the latter in which he was seen often.
The seller claims to have owned T000999, which is still in Portugal, for 17 years, and the 31,000-mile odometer indicates it was driven about 1,500 miles per year on average. Thankfully the car has been kept stock, so whoever buys it can enjoy driving it just as Senna did - that is, if the car actually is what it's claimed to be. If the story checks out, then this is one valuable NSX, which is reflected in the high minimum starting bid of 47,500 pounds ($73,620). There have been no bids at time of writing, but with nine days left in the auction, we'll be keeping our eyes on this one.
