This Odyssey has been a good vehicle for our family. The options and comfort were something we had not experienced before. Heated seats, climate control, power sliding doors and tan leather which doesn't get too hot, just to name a few. We like having the stereo control and cruise on the wheel. It drives good and runs good as a Honda should.
PLEASE READ THIS!!! If you are considering buying one of these vans, and the transmission has NOT BEEN REPLACED or rebuilt, you may want to reconsider. We had the famous Odyssey transmission failure and decided not to go with a factory tranny since they were repeatedly going out according to research we did. People in this situation had the best outcome with entirely rebuilt trannies so we had it rebuilt from scratch and it was a successful choice. These transmissions give ZERO ADVANCE NOTICE when the torque converter falls apart and destroys the rest of the transmission. Like new one moment, and then gone the next. Our van has a newer stronger torque converter along with all new parts. These transmissions run upward of $4000. Our rebuild was $2500. Google " Odyssey Transmission " to see the many thousands of people affected by this situation.
The interior is in very nice condition. The leather has held up very nicely with not much wear whatsoever. The carpets and mats look good with no big stains at all that I can see. The dash is in very nice shape and the tinting is great. The a/c is awesome!
One of the wing window motors is out and can be purchased aftermarket on ebay for cheap.
The windshield is cracked but we drive it that way since the crack is mainly across the bottom and left corner. These windshields run $159 at two places we checked.
My wife backed into my tire with the left rear corner of the bumper and then did the same with the left front corner. These can be fixed but are not really noticeable at a glance or distance. I took pics of them. Places like scratch away can fix these for less than $150 each. Check out their site, it is amazing.
The bottom left corner of the driver door caught on a flower trough and it creased it, so the paint came off the creased area.(pics) There is rust on that creased area, and I don't see any other rust to speak of.
There are some door dings and some sap drippings from being in the driveway on hot days under the tree but this can be removed with goo gone.
Normal wear on the exterior.
My mechanic said a vacuum line came loose and causes it to sound a bit odd when idling but doesn't affect the idle. It in no way affects the running of the vehicle so we took his advice and left it. He said it would be about an hour labor to find and fix it. No big deal.
The van gets about 25-26mpg highway and we drive to Omaha pretty regularly(32 miles) so most miles are highway. This mpg is at 63-65mph.
The tires were new last year and we bought great tires. They handle excellent in snow, rain, ice etc and have tons of tread left. Gotta keep the wife and four children safe.
The timing belt and water pump were replaced at 100k.
Regular oil changes and lubrication.
One of the belts on the engine sqeaks every now and then, but nothing outstanding at all.
This van has tons of life left in it and is a solid vehicle as Hondas should be.
KBB lists this vehicle as "good" condition and recommends a value for private sale at $5253, and more for a dealer of course.
Make me an offer, a reasonable one.
My name is David
Any questions please use the option given in the listing through ebay. I will respond as soon as possible.
I have tried to be as thoughtful as possible and hope this van goes to a good home for years to come.
Good luck!

Foreign automakers pay from $38 to $65 per hour to non-union workers
Sun, Mar 29 2015As leaders for the United Auto Workers gather in Detroit for their Special Convention on Collective Bargaining to work out the negotiating stance for this year's new labor agreements with the Detroit 3 automakers, what they most want to do is figure out how to eliminate the two-tier wage scale. However, the lower Tier 2 wage has allowed the domestic automakers to reduce their labor costs, hire more workers, and compete better with their import competition. As it stands, per-hour labor rates including benefits are $58 at General Motors, $57 at Ford, and $48 at Fiat-Chrysler – a reflection of FCA's much greater number of Tier 2 workers. The Center for Automotive Research released a study of labor rates (including benefits) that put numbers to what the imports pay: Mercedes-Benz pays the most, at an average of $65 per hour, Volkswagen pays the least, at $38 per hour, and BMW is just a hair above that at $39 per hour. Among the Detroit competitors, Honda workers earn an average of $49 per hour, at Toyota it's $48 per hour, Nissan is $42 per hour, and Hyundai-Kia pays $41 per hour. The lower import wages are aided by their greater use of temporary workers compared to the domestics. Automotive News says the ten-dollar gap between those foreign camakers and the domestics turns out to about an extra $250 per car in labor, which adds up quickly when you're pumping out many millions of cars. That $250-per-car number is one that, come negotiating time, the Detroit 3 will want to reduce, as the UAW is trying to raise both Tier 1 and Tier 2 wages. Another wrinkle is that the domestic carmakers are considering the wide adoption of a third wage level lower than Tier 2. Some workers who do minor tasks like assembling parts trays kits and battery packs already make less than Tier 2, but the UAW will be quite wary about cementing yet another wage scale at the bottom of the system while it's trying to fight a bigger battle at the top. Honda Jazz Prototype is brand's latest production-ready 'concept'
Thu, 02 Oct 2014Another auto show, another Honda "prototype." The brand has made something of a habit of showing very thinly veiled production models at the world's auto shows, ranging from the Accord, to the Civic and Civic Type-R, as well as the CR-V. And yes, this is far from the first time we've railed against this particular trend (it's not even the first time at this auto show). Now, it's time to preview the production-ready Jazz, known to American consumers as the recently released Fit.
As we covered in our original post on the Jazz Prototype, this car is pretty much a twin to the Fit, aside from its 1.3-liter engine. Sitting in place of the US-market 1.5-liter four-cylinder, the Earth Dreams 1.3 is probably a bit more suited to the tighter urban environments of the European Union. While the engine might be different, the six-speed manual and continuously variable transmission will be plenty familiar to US consumers.
We have a full live gallery of the new Jazz Prototype at the top of the page. Take a look at that, and then scroll down for Honda's press release and official images.
Leno meets the nicest people on his bored-out Honda CB750
Tue, 08 Jul 2014Jay Leno's Garage is back to its tried-and-true formula this week with Jay taking a close look at a seriously cool vehicle with a guest. This time he invites in Adam Gaspic from Gasser Custom to take a look at a highly customized 1975 Honda CB750.
The bike is really an amalgam of styles from different eras and various Honda parts. Its looks are inspired by '50s hot rods with its white-wall tires and satin, metallic fuel tank, but there is a little British café racer in there, as well. A digital instrument panel and LED turn signals lend an air of modernity to it, too. Mechanically, the bike rides on a modified '75 frame with the front and rear suspension from an '80s Honda. However, the pièce de résistance is its engine, bored out to 836cc with additional head work and a custom exhaust.
Once on the road, the bike really sings. It sounds just the way a classic Japanese motorcycle should with a mix of whine at high-revs with rumble down low. A cycle that mixes this many styles should probably be a mess, but this fuses it all together perfectly. Scroll down to take a look at this motorcycle mixing classic and modern in Jay Leno's Garage.
