2010 Honda Odyssey Ex Wheelchair Van Vmi Northstar Ramp on 2040-cars
Sandy, Utah, United States
2010 Honda Odyssey EX with VMI Northstar wheelchair van conversion. This Honda Odyssey is in like new condition with only 4,990 miles. It is Slate Green with gray interior. Honda calls it green, but I would describe it as silver with a light greenish blue tint. It features alloy wheels, power door locks and windows, cruise control, drivers 8-way power seat, second row sunshades, auto off headlights, duel power sliding doors, 244HP 3.5L V-6 engine, 5-speed automatic transmission, vehicle stability assist, tire pressure monitoring system, and much more. It also has an in dash Alpine (INA-W900BT) stereo, navigation, DVD, and back up camera system with a 10” sub woofer. This system was $2400 new. The Northstar wheelchair conversion includes the following features. 12” lowered floor, power in-floor ramp (ramp slides into the floor so it does not block door), power kneeling suspension (van lowers to make the angle on the ramp very low), remote key fob operation (door opens and ramp comes out with the push of a button on the key fob), integrated wheelchair tie downs (built into the floor to secure a wheelchair), interior operation switches, removable front seats (wheelchair can be put in the front passenger or driver position), commercial grade rubber flooring (holds up much better to wheelchairs than the standard carpeted floor). This is the best system for transporting a wheelchair occupant. This van was well over $54,000 when purchased new in 2010, and would be about $60,000 new today. This is an opportunity to purchase a nearly new Honda VMI Northstar wheelchair van at a $20,000 savings over the equivalent new van. Please ask any questions before bidding. I have tried my best to describe this van and provide representative pictures. I will be glad to give you more information if necessary. This van is also offered for sale locally and auction may be ended early for local sale. Shipping is the responsibility of buyer but we can help you arrange shipping. There is a local shipping company we have worked with several times, and can put you in touch with them if necessary. Thanks for looking. |

Average new-car fuel economy figures continue record pace
Sat, 13 Jul 2013Manufacturers are making more efficient cars and trucks; we've known that to be true for some time. Nearly every new car has some sort of trick to eke a few extra miles out of every gallon of fuel. Whether that be turbocharging, active aerodynamics or hybrid technology/electrified powertrains, the fact is that our vehicles are more efficient than ever before.
Thanks to a recent study by TrueCar, we've got fresh quantitative data to support the above statements. For the fourth month in a row, we've seen an improvement in national fleet fuel economy. We Americans are 0.7 miles per gallon more efficient than we were last month, and our cars are 1.6-mpg better than at this time last year. That said, we're still down on 2013's high, which was set back in January at 24.5 mpg.
Not only does this reflect the improved technologies in our vehicles, but it demonstrates a changing mindset among consumers, who are purchasing more efficient vehicles despite the relative stabilization of fuel prices. Every fuel-efficient model sold drives its manufacturers fleet average up.
Is the original Acura NSX a perfect supercar?
Fri, Nov 20 2015The long-awaited arrival of the second coming of the Acura NSX has naturally brought with it many deep retrospectives on the first Acura NSX. Xcar is the latest with a stint in the time capsule, lining up three NSXs to sample at a track in the UK. There's the red wonder that started it all, the standard aluminum-bodied car that went on sale in 1990, so simple and easy-to-drive, extracting more joy than many thought possible from a 3.0-liter V6 with 'just' 270 horsepower and 210 pound-feet of torque. The 25-year-old exotic shows its years, but mostly because of an automatic transmission that dampens throttle response and doesn't like changing gears. The praises it earned in the day, however, still remain, namely excellent steering, handling, and feedback. After that comes laps in the first NSX Type R, the model that lost more than 250 pounds by having no air conditioning, sound deadening, or stereo, and lightweight tweaks like carbon seats and thinner glass. Although it the tuning makes it much harder, the presenter wants to know, "Why isn't Honda making a car like this today?" Then there's the 2002 model, the one that would only last three years before closing the door on a fifteen-year run. It got better at the same time as it got softer, but by then the NSX had nothing left to prove; it hit every one of its targets, it realigned the segment in ways we're still benefiting from, and for at least half of its run nothing else could touch it. Based on the reviews so far, that might include the brand new, very good and very complicated NSX. Check out the video above for Xcar's take. Honda accused of not reporting all airbag problems
Fri, 17 Oct 2014The Takata airbag recall that has afflicted a number of automakers may have just taken a very bad turn for Honda, which has already recalled over one million vehicles. Clarence Ditlow and the Center for Auto Safety have accused the Japanese manufacturer of failing to report two "injury-and-death" incidents. To determine just what happened, the company has initiated a third-party audit.
According to Bloomberg, CAS claims Honda failed to report fatalities in 2009 and 2013, a point Honda doesn't seem to contest, indicating that it didn't report so-called "verbal claims."
"It is our understanding that some manufacturers choose to include these types of verbal claims, and that these constitute the majority of the injury-and-death claims that they report to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration," the company told Bloomberg via email. "We believe this practice accounts for the vast majority of the difference between the total number of injury-and-death claims reported by Honda compared to certain other manufacturers."
