NO RESERVE! Used 2001 Honda Odyssey 195k miles
I purchased a new vehicle and was going to trade it in, but I figure I can get more for it this way. I’ve owned it for 8 years/since less than 60,000 miles. No longer known as the MAD DAD IN A MINI VAN. A lot of highway miles traveling around the Midwest airports for my job. Also, vacation trips from Cleveland to Texas or Florida every year.
NO SURPRISES - VEHICLE HAS THE FOLLOWING ISSUE *** Recent intermittent issue where the D4 light starts blinking and it goes into a safe mode where it operates only in 2nd gear. It seems like a transmission solenoid issue because I can reset the check engine light or restart the vehicle and it will run fine for a while. Runs fine for days when it is warm. I am no mechanic, but trying to explain it as best I can. *** I have a video, if you want, of me driving as of yesterday with no issues shifting. I am pretty sure that if the transmission had an issue it would always have the issue. It seems more of an electrical issue to me. Started to look it up, but there are like 11 solenoids and I checked 2. This is my best guess as I am not a mechanic and I am not ready to repair anything else.
In the last year I have replaced: All brakes/rotors, left/right Front Strut Assemblies, Stabilizer links, Fuel Pump, Fuel Canister/ related solenoids, Negative Battery Cable and EGR Valve twice (It failed again because the EGR Port on the manifold was clogged with carbon, dirtying the EGR valve again.) I had the port cleaned per Honda Tech Bulletin for EGR Lift Insufficient P1491 code.
Other than that it is a 13 year old vehicle with normal wear and tear inside and out. Various scratches, nicks, and chips. See Photos. No Major Rust. Good Looking Van. I recently had it detailed and recently passed Ohio E-check.
* WILLING TO DRIVE IT FOR A DELIVERY FEE WITHIN A REASONABLE DISTANCE *
50 CENTS/MILE - NEGOTIABLE.
$500 Pay Pal Deposit due within 24 hours.
Being Sold AS-IS due to E-bay policy and year of the vehicle. Happy Bidding. |

2015 Fit Kit is the perfect DIY car from Honda
Mon, 31 Mar 2014Ah... let the April Fools' Day automotive jokes begin. Honda is kicking things off, following up on last year's Honda Hair joke with a prank video featuring the 2015 Honda Fit.
It's called the Fit Kit, and as you might guess, it's a way to build your own version of the redesigned hatchback. There are 180,000 mechanical parts in the kit - some delivered by drone - but that doesn't seem at all daunting to the pair of obnoxious, self-described tinkerers that star in the Fit Kit ad.
Honestly, the video is pretty entertaining, with some biting satire of the DIY movement and its attendant cadre of mustachioed hipsters. Scroll down and have a look at both the video and the Fit Kit press release from Honda.
Recharge Wrap-up: Volkswagen Sustainability Council meets, Zee.Aero flying car spotted?
Wed, Oct 26 2016The Volkswagen Sustainability Council held its inaugural meeting in Berlin. Made up of nine international experts, the council will advise VW and take action on its own as it sees fit. In the meeting, the council decided that in 2017 it will focus on tackling CO2 emissions, planning for post-2025 regulations, and assisting the automaker's "transformation from car manufacturer to mobility services provider," as VW Chairman Matthias Muller puts it. Volkswagen has approved 20 million euros (about $21.75 million) in funding for Sustainability Council projects for its first two years. "We are fully aware of the large transformation that lays ahead Volkswagen Group," says George Kell, Sustainability Council Chair and Founding Director of UN Global Compact. "We were invited to be part of this journey and are very much looking forward on being actively involved in the development of this journey." Read more at Green Car Congress, or from Volkswagen. Honda plans to ramp up its share of hybrids sold in the US. In response to increasingly strict emissions standards, the company wants electrified vehicles (including hybrid, plug-in hybrid, battery electric, and fuel cell vehicles) to make up two-thirds of Honda and Acura sales in US by 2030. Some analysts are skeptical, though. Christopher Richter of CLSA Asia-Pacific Markets says that dealers are telling Honda they don't want hybrids. "Unless there's a change in what dealers want, I don't think they are going to get there that fast," Richter says. Read more at Automotive News. Witnesses report spotting what could possibly be the Zee.Aero electric aircraft at Hollister Airport in California. Zee.Aero, a startup funded by Google cofounder Larry Page, has a hangar at that airport, where a photo was taken of the aircraft in question. The craft is said to be capable of vertical takeoff and landing and can fit in a one-car garage, earning it the "flying car" moniker. Eyewitness Saul Gomez described the aircraft as "quiet" and "hovering 20, 25 feet off the ground." Read more at Electrek, and watch the interview at Mercury News. Honda MC-? prototype
Thu, 02 Jan 2014Honda is less an automaker, it has been said, and more of a motor company that builds vehicles into which to put its engines. That sort of perspective goes a long way towards explaining the mind-boggling diversity of the company's product lineup. The Japanese industrial giant makes lawnmowers, marine engines, robots... even jet aircraft. It's also one of only a handful of companies that makes both cars and motorbikes. We recently had the chance to sample something that falls in between.
It's called MC-β - shorthand for Micro Commuter Beta, which already tells you it's Honda's second stab at the formula. The first Micro Commuter prototype was announced a year prior and, though marginally larger, struck us as a more complete product than its successor. But it'll likely still be a while before the formula is perfected and put into production, and even then it isn't likely to find its way any time soon to Honda's American showrooms - whether those showrooms are selling cars, bikes or ride-on mowers.
