Grandma's 2007 Honda Fit Has Only 15,791 Original Miles on 2040-cars
Arlington, Virginia, United States
|
My wife's mother bought this car new on July 15, 2006. She owns it free and clear. Grandma is elderly and has put only 15,791 miles on it. It has been
dealer maintained since new and the mechanics are excellent. So is the
interior, and there's plenty of miles left on the tires. It has the basic accessories - A/C, CD player, radio, etc. Please note: IT HAS A MANUAL (5 SPEED STICK SHIFT) TRANSMISSION.
Grandma is a nonsmoker but she does have a dog. We vacuumed the interior, so there are no dog hairs. Nevertheless those with dog allergies should take this into consideration. The exterior is another story. Grandma is moving into a life care community, and one of the reasons is that her eye-hand coordination has been declining in recent years. This car's body definately reflects that. There are numerous small doinks and boinks on all sides, and all 4 wheel rims have road rash. A piece of plastic body cladding that goes under the front bumper and wraps under the front of the car got damaged and was removed (Its absence is not noticeable but we wanted to disclose it). Fortunately the car has never been in a major accident and there are no major dents. I repainted many of the dings and scrapes (most of them pretty small) with matching touch-up paint. From 10 feet away it looks fine. You are welcome to test drive it and have your mechanic inspect it. There are also a number of Honda dealers near us (Arlington, VA 22213). Most will do a pre-purchase inspection for you, and you can pay them with a credit card. If we have an agreement on the price we can make it subject to your approval of their inspection. I'll be happy to drive it over to them for the inspection. The Kelly Blue Book private party price for this care is $9,596 in excellent condition, $9,263 in very good, and $9,064 in good. The mechanics and interior meets the KBB definition for excellent and the exterior meets the KBB definition for good. We are aiming for the KBB Very Good Price - $9,263. If you are having the car shipped to you I'll be happy to coordinate the pick up with them. |

Honda Civic Tourer images arrive early on web
Sun, 03 Mar 2013Honda provided a teaser sketch of its Civic Tourer concept wagon about a month ago (right), but today, just a couple days before its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show, we've found these official pics of the car in question from WhatCar?
The Civic Tourer concept adds a little length and height to the current Civic hatchback sold in Europe, stretching the shape every which way to make a new wagon model that will compete with cars like the new Volkswagen Golf Variant, which is also making its debut in Geneva this week.
As we mentioned when Honda released the teaser sketch last month, the European Civic is different from the Civic sold here in the US, so the production version of this concept, which should debut in the fall, will never see the inside of a dealership in the States. Do you care, or does the smaller Fit fill that role well enough for Americans?
We drive Honda's turbo/manual Civic prototype (briefly)
Mon, Feb 22 2016You could almost hear it. There was a furor. And it all had to do with a transmission. On September 16, Honda showed the all-new, tenth-generation Civic. Fitted with a turbocharged engine for the first time, enthusiasts were excited. Until they realized the new 1.5-liter Earth Dreams four-cylinder turbo would only be offered with a continuously variable transmission, something that elicits a passionate, all-consuming, and utterly unquenchable hatred among (most) enthusiasts. Honda was listening. On the recent Civic Coupe launch, the company confirmed to us that a manual transmission will soon be offered on turbocharged Civics, regardless of body style. And then we drove a prototype. Now, let's be very clear, the car we drove was an early test vehicle. It was camouflaged, cobbled together – it was born with a turbo and an automatic before Honda's engineers got their hands on it – and to cap it all off, we got approximately five minutes of seat time. We couldn't even shoot the darn thing, which is why you're looking at one really bad iPhone picture up top. But five minutes is better than nothing at all, right? View 40 Photos The 1.5T and six-speed manual are a natural fit, simply because they're both already so good on their own. Our immediate impression is that even though this is an early development vehicle, fitting the 1.5-liter turbo with a manual transmission is a natural pairing. This is largely because the engine and transmission are so good on their own. We've raved about the turbocharged four-cylinder and its ultra-broad torque peak before – all 162 pound-feet of torque are on tap between 1,700 and 5,500 rpm – but the six-speed stick is no slouch either. Normally paired with the 2.0-liter, naturally aspirated four-cylinder, the clutch's action is light and springy, and finding the catch point is easy. And the shift lever, in typical Honda fashion, has a smooth, enjoyable action and easy-to-access gates. Putting the turbo and manual together doesn't transform a normal Civic into an Si or Type R, but it automatically (sorry) makes for a more engaging and entertaining compact sedan. Because of the broad torque curve, more speed is just a single-gear downshift away. And that downshift is downright easy to kick out, too. Simply put, the turbocharged engine feels more urgent and eager, especially off the line, with the manual.
