2017 Honda Civic Coupe spotted for the first time
Mon, Mar 30 2015Rumors about the next-generation Honda Civic have been coming fast and furious in recent weeks. The speculation suggests the future model will use a new 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and some European body styles will come across the Atlantic. There's even the potential for an overhaul of the CR-Z on the same platform. Now, we've got a glimpse at what the next Civic looks like in coupe and sedan form. Our spies believe that under all that black diaper is the 2017 Civic Coupe, but it's hard to discern any details. With an open section on top it's even difficult to get a good idea of the roofline, though some of the photos suggest a fastback-style rear. The examples concealed in white are believed to be the future Civic Sedan, and one of them is exposed enough to get a good idea of its shape. In profile the look is reminiscent of the current Accord, which is good, if conservative. Seeing the two versions together provides few hints about the coupe's styling, other than a shared wheelbase between both cars. The apparent door handle cutout on the driver's side of the coupe is likely a camouflage trick to hide any information about the length or shape of the doors. One recent rumor suggests that the next-gen Civic's styling could be fully unveiled towards the end of 2015. Honda to compete in seven Pike's Peak classes in 2014
Mon, 28 Apr 2014The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is one of the greatest events on the international motorsports calendar. Its Unlimited class harkens back to the old days of racing, when teams built vehicles to be the fastest with whatever they had. Honda is returning to the event for 2014 for its second year as a sponsor and participant, and it's bringing some cool machines of its own.
The company is fielding seven entrants this year, which is somewhat smaller than last year. In 2013, it brought 11 factory-supported vehicles in 10 classes, including an insane Honda Odyssey with a 532-horsepower turbocharged V6 engine. There's no need to be too disappointed by the shorter list, though. Former 24 Hours of Le Mans-winner Romain Dumas is back piloting a Honda-powered Norma chassis up the hill in the Unlimited class. Dumas attempted to race the car last year, but it broke down during his run. Other competitors include an NSX (pictured above), Fit B-Spec and an S3700, which is an S2000 with a 3.7-liter V6 engine.
In its role as sponsor, Honda says it has also worked with the sanctioning body to add an AirFence safety barrier along some corners for the motorcycle and ATV riders. This is the ad that never ends
Wed, Apr 8 2015Hondas pretty much last forever, and that's exactly the message the Japanese automaker wants to convey in this latest ad for the 2015 CR-V. It's called Endless Road, created by McGarryBowen in London, and it shows the new midsize crossover driving in a hypnotic, infinite loop. According to AdWeek, this endless road is supposed to convey Honda's never-ending quest to create the best, most advanced CR-V possible. You can see a shortened, embeddable version of the ad above, but what's really cool is the interactive portion that's only available on Honda's YouTube channel. It uses real-time weather data to show the CR-V infinitely driving through day or night, depending on what's happening in your specific part of the world.
