1989 civic wagon 5 speed manual, i have owned it for 5 years, always garaged since i have owned it, arizona car, clean title. the last two years it has been in storage, drove at least once a week to prevent any damage from sitting too long. this car has to use premium gas because of the high compression engine it has in it.

engine

1997 civic dx engine (d16y7). it has been completely rebuilt by me and a fellow honda employee. it has brand new oem honda: piston rings, crank and rod bearings, oil pan, every gasket including head gasket, every seal, new thermostat housing and thermostat, oem oil cooler from honda civic vx engine, ngk spark plugs. this car has cold ac that works great. newer alternator installed last year. has oem honda manual tranny fluid in the transmission, oem honda blue coolant, and the oil is always changed at 2500 miles.

engine modifications include

THIS ENGINE IS MULTI POINT, IT JUST LOOKS LIKE A DUAL POINT ENGINE.... to stay true to the "ef civic"style i chose to desguise this engine as a dual point but with a bit more power then stock. it has port matched y7 intake manifold. manifold throttle body opening ported to 60mm to fit b16 60mm throttle body. OBD0 d series injectors, intake modified to use stock dual point air chamber. k&n drop in air filter in the stock air box. functional air duct located in front bumper. the car is running as obd1. 2000 civic ex d16y8 tubular oem header, port matched to head with custom 2.5 inch down pipe. 2.25 inch exhause and test pipe. this engine has dohc zc pistons installed, it is aproxomatly 12 to 1 compression and REQUIRES premium octane gas. has arp head studs installed as well. brand new inovative motor mounts installed last month.custom adjustable length shift linkage. also has a new exedy clutch kit and a rebuilt 90 crx si transmission. first and second gear were replaced and the shift forks were replaced as well, all brand new parts from honda. shifts extremely smooth no grinds and the engine runs amazing. since this engine was installed the car was driven to vegas and california.

suspension

this car has brand new (about 50 miles on them) Function and Form type 1 full body coilovers. it has k sport rear camber and toe arms. skunk 2 front upper control arm camber kit. it has front knuckles and brakes from a 91 civic ex sedan, the brakes on that model had the biggest brake setup of any civic 88-91. the calipers were rebuilt a couple years ago then cleaned and painted silver to give the apearance of new. front rotors are A.R.E. drilled and slotted rotors. also the car has steel braided brake lines from stop tech. it has new oem rear brake shoes and brake cylinders oem from honda. it has an 89 crx si rear sway bar installed on the car and it has energy front sway bar links. it has new from honda 97-01 crv front outer tie rods (beefier than civic but fit the same) and brand new steering rack boots. the rear hubs have arp wheel studs (needed for rear wheel spacer). the wheels are german EXIP rims, 15x7 +25 offset. they were made in 1986 and are in great shape. 195 50 15 khumo tires with about 50% tread left.

interior

basically all stock, but has a few little things. has a first gen civic (1970s) steering wheel with functioning horn buttons, has a first gen civic chrome shifter with black shifter ball (matches steering wheel). vintage kenwood cd player with custom aux port wired in. very rare optional rear speaker pods. very nice fitting dash mat. very mint interior all around. driver front seat has wear on bolster, my intention was to have all seats reapolstered in dark blue with light blue plaid. but that did not happen.

exterior

oem roof rack installed, 70's subaru wagon rear spoiler. paint is still in great shape, no fading and very glossy for being original. also it does have a small ding in the front drivers fender. its been there since the previous owner. bumpers and trim have always been armoralled, there are light scratches in the plastic bumpers, not very noticable. tinted windows. first gen integra front lip.

On May-05-13 at 12:08:54 PDT, seller added the following information:

I want to make sure it's clear that this car is the front wheel drive model not awd

Also the check engine light is on because it needs a 4 wire 02 sensor put in, haven't done that since going to obd1. Though the car passes emissions flawlessly

Honda tweaks ad after catching ire from Detroit protesters [w/video]

Mon, 27 Jan 2014

Honda has released a revised version of its youth-focused Today is Pretty Great commercial because the original used footage of Detroit bankruptcy protesters in front of the Theodore Levin US Courthouse. The protesters felt that Honda was making fun of their plight. The new version cuts out the protestors and replaces them with a close-up of a bankruptcy court sign. Honda says that it never intended to tie the ad to Detroit and made the change to avoid that appearance.
"The slight change we made to the commercial simply reflects our desire to remove anything that would get in the way our uplifting message," said Honda spokesman Steve Kinkade in a statement to The Detroit News.
Honda's footage of the protestors lasted about one second in the original ad. It blurred the protestors' faces, and the name of the courthouse was not visible. The company said that the footage was meant to represent any courthouse in the US. Both versions have about five seconds of negative imagery at the beginning before transitioning to young people saying that there are some great things about today too.

2016 Honda Civic Coupe starts at $19,885, Touring for $26,960

Wed, Mar 9 2016

Honda has posted prices for the 2016 Civc Coupe, which we liked quite a bit during our First Drive. The base LX trim starts at $19,885 (after $835 destination for all models). That's $410 more than the 2016 sedan in LX guise, which goes for $19,475. The previous-gen 2015 Civic Coupe LX went for $19,125. Honda keeps the features of the respective trim levels largely the same between the coupe and sedan. Even base cars come with amenities like LED running lights and a five-inch infotainment system. Where the two-door differs slightly is the unique LX-P version, which costs $21,685. It uses the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque, but gets the CVT standard. The LX-P also includes a moonroof, keyless entry with push-button start, and a remote engine starter. If you want to experience Honda's lauded 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder's 174 hp and 162 lb-ft in the coupe, the least expensive option is the EX-T trim for $23,135. It also includes a seven-inch infotainment system, automatic climate control, and heated seats. The model is also only $100 more than the same version of the sedan. According to the numbers currently on Honda's site, the top two coupe trims are actually cheaper than their four-door counterparts. The EX-L with leather upholstery and an auto-dimming rearview mirror costs $24,260 as a two-door versus $24,535 as a sedan. The range-topping Touring model costs $26,960 and includes the Honda Sensing active safety suite, navigation, LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers and heated mirrors. In comparison, the Touring sedan sells for $27,335. We'll have to wait a little longer before the actual configurator is available to pretend that we're building our own. Related Video:

Fernando Alonso tries out fast motorcycles and Senna's McLaren

Sat, Dec 12 2015

Honda closed out its racing year yesterday with its annual Thanks Day at Motegi. The event brought out an array of competition machinery and the drivers and riders who race them. That included Fernando Alonso, but rather than bring his Honda-powered McLaren, the two-time world champ took the opportunity to try out some different equipment. While MotoGP rider Marc Marquez slipped behind the wheel of the NSX Concept GT, his countryman Alonso hopped on his RC213V motorcycle for a couple of laps. Fernando isn't the first racer to swap between F1 and motorcycles: Michael Schumacher tried his hand and motorcycle racing from time to time, Valentino Rossi tested Ferrari grand prix cars on numerous occasions, and of course John Surtees won championships in both spheres – but he remains the only one to have done so. Fernando also had the chance to drive a McLaren-Honda MP4/6, just like the one with which Ayrton Senna successfully defended his title in the 1991 Formula One World Championship. That was the first time McLaren ran a Honda V12, but the last time a V12 – or a manual transmission – won the championship. After the following season, Honda and McLaren parted ways – only to be reunited this year with Alonso and Button behind the wheel. While Alonso was toying around with Senna's car, Takuma Sato – who drove Hondas in Formula One and now in Indy – tried his hand at the 1968 Honda RA301. That machine was also powered by a Honda V12, but at 440 horsepower, was far less potent than the 735+hp version that would later power Senna's. John Surtees drove one just like this in the '68 world championship, retiring from most of the races on the calendar but scoring two podiums from the three that he did finish. Marquez and his teammate Dani Pedrosa also competed in the CBR250 spec race, rode the mid-80s-era NSR500 bikes. They drove in four-wheel spec race as well in modified Honda N-One kei cars. The event served to cap a full year of racing for the Japanese automaker, which competes in a range of racing disciplines including F1, Indy, Super GT, the World Touring Car Championship, and numerous classes of motorcycle racing.
