Up for sale is our gently-driven 2013 Honda Civic Ex-L with 9,947 miles. This vehicle was my wife's daily driver, but the recent addition of triplets to our family means we need to make way for a larger vehicle--as much as we don't want to sell this car. We purchased this vehicle new from Hall Honda in Virginia Beach on 04/30/2013. This car has been owned and driven by clean, non-smokers. The car is paid off and has never been in an accident--meaning the title is free and clear and ready to be signed over anytime.
The car is in excellent condition mechanically and has been meticulously maintained. We received lifetime oil changes and inspections at Hall Honda in Virginia Beach, and I changed the oil and filter at half intervals myself, as well (which works out to be about every 3.5k miles). I only use Honda fluids and filters. I also rotated the tires at each oil change (again about every 3.5k miles). I have records/receipts for the oil changes. Every system on the car works fine. The engine runs very well, and the transmission shifts smoothly and reliably. On a level highway, cruising at 65-70mph, I typically average 42-45mpg. Around town, my wife generally averages about 30mpg. I am still amazed that this mileage is attainable for a naturally-aspirated, non-hybrid car. The exterior is in very good condition. Much to our chagrin, the passenger side door has a small spot where another, careless driver opened their door in a local parking lot and bumped it. This is shown in the pictures. There is a slight depression and accompanying blemish of the paint and pin striping due to this incident. Otherwise, the exterior is nearly flawless, with only a few other minor scratches small enough to not show up in pictures. This car was typically washed at least once a month with a wax/rinse automotive soap. The leather seats are in great condition and have been conditioned once every 3-4 months since owning the car. The front seats are heated. We have two keys (with receivers) and one valet key. The fitted floor mats are in great condition with no staining. The interior of the car is flawless. A Honda factory fitted trunk liner is included with the vehicle sale, as well, which is also shown in the pictures. The wheels are in great condition, and each wheel has a keyed lug nut. I tried to include as many pictures as I could, but if there are any items that you would like closer pictures of, please send me a message/question and let me know. The vehicle is currently located in Hampton, VA, and I will not ship the car. The vehicle is still covered by the factory 3 year/36,000 mile bumper to bumper and 5 year/60,000 mile powertrain warranties (which are transferable to new owner). I am a fan of the spirit of no reserve auctions, but due to timing constraints, I have opted to make this a buy-it-now/best offer listing. Please feel free to make an offer! We are motivated sellers. I require a $100.00 deposit within 24 hours of auction/listing close to confirm buyer's intent to purchase. The buyer must contact me within 48 hours to arrange for pick up, which must be done within 7 days of auction end (unless you contact me directly and we arrange otherwise prior to auction end). The remaining payment must be made via certified check upon vehicle pick-up. We are located about 20 min from the Williamsburg/Newport News airport (PHF) and about 30 min from the Norfolk International airport (ORF), and I would be happy to pick the winning bidder up at the airport if he/she would like. Finally, happy Ebaying! |

Will states start to prevent you from registering cars that have pending recalls?
Sat, Nov 22 2014The impact of 2014 – henceforth known as Year of the Recalls – will have long-ranging consequences on the auto industry. One of the biggest changes, though, might not be in the way manufacturers inform the government of pending recalls or in the way Uncle Sam punishes automakers that violate its rules, but in the ability to sell cars with pending recalls. And strangely enough, the charge is being led by an automaker. Honda Executive Vice President Rick Schostek, pictured above, argued during a meeting of the Senate Transportation Committee that the government needs to take a role in mandating that consumers have recall services performed. That could include withholding registration for vehicles with pending recalls, Bloomberg reports. Honda is just one of the automakers currently embroiled in the massive Takata airbag recall. "It's a good idea," safety advocate Clarence Ditlow said, according to Bloomberg. "California won't give you a registration if you have an emissions recall. Why not a safety recall?" "Honda is going to use any innovative tools to find customers and get these recalls done," Schostek told the Transportation Committee. The exec, aside from echoing Ditlow's viewpoint, also argued for requiring dealerships and garages to inform vehicle owners of incomplete recalls, regardless of the service provided. Schostek also made an argument that state governments could step in, as well. Whatever ends up happening, it's fair to say that between Takata and General Motors, the future of recalls for American consumers are set for significant changes. Honda to spool up turbos, workforce with F1 tech
Fri, 22 Nov 2013Honda has had a longer and more tumultuous relationship with Formula One than just about any other automaker. It had only been building cars for four years before it entered F1 in 1964 as the first Japanese team in the series, winning its first race the following season but shuttering the program a few years later. Honda came back to power the likes of Williams and McLaren to several World Championships in the '80s and '90s, but things took a downturn when it started a partnership and ultimately took over British American Racing. After pouring untold billions into the effort, the economy tanked, and Honda ultimately sold the team, which subsequently claimed the championship - under new ownership and Mercedes power. Now Honda is gearing up to return in 2015 with a new turbocharged V6 hybrid powertrain it's supplying initially to McLaren, which in turn is switching back to Honda from nearly two decades with Mercedes.
So why return to F1 now? That's precisely what Autoblog asked Honda's Global President and Chief Executive Takanobu Ito (pictured above with McLaren chief Martin Whitmarsh) while visiting his office in Tokyo. While he wouldn't reveal specifics (like when his company's new engine would be available to other teams, as it most certainly will in the long run), Ito-san was clearly happy to discuss the motivation behind the move and the value he feels it brings to the company and its products.
Ito pointed toward the proliferation of motors within Honda's powertrains as a development he hopes to take to road from track
Nine cars we wish were convertibles
Thu, Apr 16 2015The snow has melted, the sun is shining, and the days are getting longer. At the Autoblog Detroit office we feel like our winter hibernation is finally over. And with warmer temperatures come visions of opening up a convertible roof and cruising. You know, just turn up the bass and let the Alpine blast. There are plenty of droptops on sale in the US, and more on the way (like the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata). That said, we always want more. More! More! More! In that spirit, we cooked up a list of nine cars aren't currently sold as convertible, but ought to be. Check out our picks, below. Summer's just around the corner. Subaru BRZ / Scion FR-S In some parallel universe, this car actually happened. Toyota showed us a FT 86 Convertible concept at the Geneva Motor Show in 2013, and we immediately started licking our chops over the thought of a rear-wheel-drive convertible based on the Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S twins. These days, the MX-5 Miata is our only option for affordable roadster fun. A competitor to the Mazda seems like a no-brainer to us, especially since we have naught but good to say about the BRZ/FR-S as-is. Unfortunately in our present timeline, this car is as likely for production as a BRZ STI. Which is to say, not very. Dang. Lexus RC F Unlike the FR-S, a convertible from Toyota's luxury division might actually see the light of day. The current IS convertible is about to be phased out, and the Lexus LF-C2 concept from the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show is really a thinly veiled look at a possible RC convertible. A droptop RC would be plenty good, but let's reach for the starts. What we really want is to run topless in an RC F, complete with that powerful, loud, 5.0-liter V8 engine. Lexus says the RC F is a true competitor to the BMW M4. If that's true, it only makes sense for Lexus to mimic the Germans and offer its performance coupe in a folding hardtop form. Maybach Landaulet Maybach is bach back, recast as an upper crust trim level for Mercedes-Benz. The Mercedes-Maybach S600 is seriously awesome, and more luxurious than a trip to the spa. But why not go a step into the truly ridiculous levels of extravagence and bring back that open-top Landaulet? We think your local princess will love this idea, and with better S-Class bones underneath, Jeeves will have a pretty enjoyable ship to steer, too. Besides, with that slick new Mercedes design language, a Landaulet redux wouldn't be nearly as hideous as the old model, pictured here.
