Honda sells so many Civics that if the car were counted as its own brand, it would be the 12th largest in the United States. More Civics went to new homes in the U.S. last year than did all Volkswagens or Mazdas. The redesigned 2012 Civic. When the previous-generation Civic arrived in 2006, the swept-back windshield and the futuristic styling were a bit of a shock. It has taken us practically the cars entire life cycle to grow accustomed to the look. Honda designers arent taking the same kind of chance again. What we see for 2012 is a careful evolution of the past Civic. Actually, its almost more of a devolution, a step toward conformity. All the subtle changesthe longer hood, the sculpted bumpers, and the larger taillightsmake the Civic look more conventional than before. They also improve its aerodynamics. Honda claims a lower coefficient of drag, in part thanks to the styling revisions but also because of a smaller grille opening and a flat underbody. Inside, the Civic keeps the two-tier instrument display that puts the digital speedometer above the analog tachometer. Like the exterior, the interior is immediately familiar yet new. Material quality improved greatly, and there is interesting graining on the door panels. Thinner A-pillars aid forward visibility, and new seats feel more supportive A new five-inch display is standard on all models. Dubbed the intelligent Multi-Information Display, the screen sits to the right of the speedometer and gives trip computer, audio, clock. Modifications to the electric power steering include a rack that is more rigidly mounted. Compared with its predecessor, the new Civic turns into corners with authority, which adds to the cars larger feel. The electric power steering is very nimble, providing great feedback. Overall, the cars stiffer body, increased sound deadening, and electric steering are more about maturity than playfulness. Theres a greater sense of isolation from the road, and drivers who equate isolatio June 2014 Special all month long present this at time of purchase and recieve a $100 gas card with purchase.

Honda shows off Civic Tourer ahead of Frankfurt debut
Sun, 11 Aug 2013This is the new Honda Civic Tourer that will be appearing at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month and that will go on sale in Europe early next year. Created by Honda's European studio, it tweaks the lines and the glasswork of the five-door Civic to create a more muscular profile below the shoulder.
When it's time to haul, a lower load height allows access to a slightly higher floor, arranged so that it creates a flat surface when the rear seats are folded. Honda says the Civic Tourer offers class-leading interior space, the cargo area able to swallow 624 liters from the floor to the window line with the rear seats up, 1,668 liters with the rear seats down and items piled up to the roof. Extra storage can be had in below-floor spaces, and even the rear seat bolsters can flip up to make space for tall goods. An included tonneau cover hides valuables in the back and can be stored out of the way when not in use.
Under the hood will be either the Earth Dreams 1.6 i-DTEC diesel engine or the 1.8 i-VTEC petrol engine, working through a choice of manual or automatic transmissions. An adaptive damper system aims to provide handling to match the looks, with available comfort, normal and dynamic settings.
Honda announces 2015 Pilot Special Edition
Tue, 03 Jun 2014Honda doesn't have any exciting new mechanical or aesthetic changes for the 2015 Pilot eight-passenger crossover, but it is adding a new trim level to give families a compromise between the EX and EX-L models.
The new Special Edition trim is available on either the front-wheel or all-wheel drive versions of the Pilot, and it adds Pewter Gray aluminum wheels, a power moonroof, a rear seat entertainment DVD system and Sirius XM radio. Prices come to $33,950 for the two-wheel drive version, after the $830 destination charge, or $35,550 for all-wheel drive after destination.
Prices for the rest of the trims are up $200 over last year, and they all still come standard with remote entry, a rearview camera and Class III trailer hitch. Power is still provided by a 3.5-liter V6 with 250 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque with a five-speed automatic. Fuel economy is unchanged as expected with front-wheel drive models rated at 18 miles per gallon city, 25 mpg highway and 21 mpg combined, and four-wheel drive models make 1 mpg less at 17 mpg city, 24 mpg highway and 20 mpg combined.
