I am selling this 1999 Honda Civic LX in order to make room in the driveway for my newer Civic. This car has been under my ownership since Nov 15 2007 and has been a pleasure to have as my first car. The previous owner refused to replace the oil and after her second engine replacement I decided to purchase the car off her. The engine was replaced at 90,000 miles, when I purchased it, and all maintenance has been done since. A used engine was installed with approximately 50,000 miles. This engine has run nothing but Amsoil and Valvoline Full synthetic oils. The stock exhaust has been replaced with a Magnaflow system from the engine block back and sounds phenomenal. This vehicle comes with remote start, keyless entry, WeatherTech floor mats, 6 disc CD changer, Kumho Solus low rolling resistant tires (75% life remaining), and new shocks all the way around. Rear brakes have approximately 80% life remaining while the fronts are at 70%. In addition this car only really has one flaw. The driver's door dent from a hit and run while parked in Royal Oak. The majority of the miles that I have put on this car are from my highway commute to Wayne State and I generally achieve approximately 32-34 mpg. Current miles on the body of the car are 133,367. The list of finalists for the 2014 Green Car of the Year has been announced, and in a genuinely bizarre twist, there's only one hybrid and no electric vehicles among the five contestants, despite the arrival of cars like the BMW i3 and Tesla Model S. Taking the place of the EVs are a pair of diesels, repping a technology that last won a Green Car of the Year award in 2009, when the Audi A3 TDI took the title. No diesel was in the running for last year's award.
Naturally, both of the diesel finalists are fielded by the Germans - with BMW's 328d and Audi's A6 TDI getting the nod. In the case of the 3 Series, BMW installed a 2.0-liter, turbodiesel, capable of delivering 180 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, while returning 45 miles per gallon on the highway. Audi and its larger, 3.0-liter, V6 turbodiesel produce quite a bit more grunt, with 240 hp and 428 lb-ft of grunt, but net a very impressive 38 mpg on the highway in the A6.
Finalists for this year's awards include two diesels, three gas-powered cars and a plug-in hybrid.

Honda exclusive to McLaren at least until 2017

Next year Honda will return to Formula One after a seven-year absence, bringing the first Japanese automaker to compete in the top-tier racing series back into the fold. But though it started in 1964 much as it ended in 2008, running its own team (much like Ferrari and Mercedes do today), its new F1 program will see it revert to engine-supplier status (like Renault did when it sold its team to Lotus).
The arrangement will be exclusive to McLaren for the 2015 Formula One World Championship. But what fans and insiders alike have been wondering is how it might expand after that. Well, now we have at least part of the answer.
According to the F1 business insiders at Pitpass, Honda motorsport chief Yasuhisa Arai told a group of journalists at this past weekend's race in Shanghai that the deal with McLaren will be exclusive not only in 2015, but also in 2016. In other words, it won't be until 2017 at the earliest before Honda might begin supplying engines to any other teams, if at all.
