1992 Honda Civic Vx, 60 Mpg, Low Miles, Always Garaged, Well Maintained, 2nd Own on 2040-cars
Johnston, Iowa, United States
Hi, I am selling my 1992 Honda Civic with only 135,871 highway miles. It is in great mechanical condition and has been well maintained. It is rare to find a VX with such low miles. The best thing about my VX is that you can average a little over 60 mpg on the highway. I have changed the oil every 3,000 miles. I purchased it last year and have put 35k miles on it. The car drives straight and there is not pull to the right or left on the interstate when you take your hands off the wheel. The suspension is good. The AC blows cold. The tires have 40% tread. The spare tire, jack, and tool kit is included. It has a clear title and has never been in an accident. I have bought and sold motorcycles, cars, and trucks on ebay in the past. I canceled my ebay account 4 years ago when ebay bought paypal. I had 100% feedback and over 1000 feedback. I just signed up again. That is why I have no feedback. I am a pilot and am pretty good at maintaining my vehicles. Please search "journey rider" on a search engine and you can read my blog about a motorcycle trip from Iowa to Argentina that I did 7 years ago. For maintenance I have installed an oem NGK oxygen sensor, distributor cap & rotor, Bosch spark plug wires, NGK spark plugs, wiper blades, air filter, and an Interstate Battery. I installed a Sony CD Player with MP3 port and an oil pan heater. The oem oxygen sensor was $400, so please take that into consideration. The cheap ebay knockoff oxygen sensors do not work and you have to spend $400 at the dealer if you want 60 mpg and not 40 mpg. Almost all of the VX's for sale have oxygen sensors that need to be replaced and with an old sensor the mileage goes down to 40 mpg or worse. As you can see from the pictures my car is in pretty good condition for its age. The paint still shines and has not been faded by the sun. The original owner had the bottom of the car undercoated and that has prevented most areas of the car from rusting. There is no rust in the driver or passenger side door jambs as you can see from the pictures. The only area of the car that has some rust are the rear wheel wells which you can see from the pictures. The car has some dings and blemishes but for the most part is in great condition for its age. There is light hail damage but you can only see it if you are standing a couple feet away from the car. The interior is in great condition. The drivers side seat bolster has a patch which you can see in the pictures. Other then the patch there are no rips, tears, or stains in the cloth seats. Everything on the car works. The only problem I can think of is that when you pressure was the back of the car a little bit of water leaks through the seal on the rear window. It doesn't happen in the rain, only when you pressure wash it. I need a larger car for my job and that is why I am selling my VX, It has served me well. I am only the second owner. The original owner was a university professor. Most of the VX's for sale have questionable maintenance histories. Be cautious of buying one from a dealer or a teenager. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. If there is a picture that you want to see please let me know and I will email it to you. The final bidder must send a $300 paypal deposit within 48 hours. The remainder needs to to paid with in 10 days. The winning bidder is responsible for picking the car up in person or making shipping arrangements. I can pick you up at Des Moines International Airport. If you pay for the car ahead of time I can also drop it off at a shipper's within a 25 mile radius of Des Moines, IA. The car is to be sold "as is." I have done my best to give an accurate description of the car, but I make no guarantees on any of the information in this description. Serious Bidders Only Please! Thank you

Honda sending two NSX racers and new EV concept to Pikes Peak
Fri, Mar 11 2016Honda is always good for a few interesting Pikes Peak entries. In 2015, Acura supplied a 2017 NSX prototype for pace-car duty. This time around, two NSXes will compete alongside a reconfigured version of the company's four-motor electric racecar. Those aren't the 2016 entries above. The one on the right is last year's pace car and the one on the left is a first-gen NSX that did the hillclimb the past few years. The 2016 cars haven't been unveiled yet, but we know that one will be in the Time Attack 2 Production class, which is mostly stock with the addition of items like a roll cage, and the other will be in Time Attack 1. TA 1 allows modifications to the powertrain, additional aero aids, suspension changes, and other tweaks, so expect to see a lot more power and a big wing on the back. The cars will be driven by James and Nick Robinson, brothers who work for Honda R&D in Ohio. Honda will use a version of the four-motor electric powertrain from its 2015 CR-Z Exhibition class entry in a new EV. (We got to drive a non-race tune of this setup in Japan last year.) The 2016 version, which will wear a different body, moves to the Electric - Electric Modified class of last year's frontrunners. We're told this car is aiming for an overall win at the 2016 race; the CR-Z took 11th place overall in 2015. The EV will again be driven by Tetsuya Yamano, a Japanese Super GT driver. Oh, and there will of course be a factory entry or two from Honda's Powersports division. Honda engineer Keith Steidl will ride a 2015 TRX1000 ATV in the Pikes Peak Challenge - Exhibition Powersport class. In the past, Honda has fielded plenty of other neat stuff in the Race to the Clouds. In 2012, it ran an NSX fitted with a twin-turbo V6 from an LMP2 car, and the 2013 race saw the very practical 532-horsepower turbocharged Odyssey minivan join the Exhibition class. The 2016 race marks the Pikes Peak hillclimb's 100th anniversary (but not the 101st running since competition took some breaks back in wartime). We're looking forward to June already. MotorWeek checks out two sides of the '90s Japanese car scene
Sat, Feb 6 2016MotorWeek's Retro Reviews let you feel nostalgic about a huge range of classic cars, and the latest two releases offer a look at two very different sides of the Japanese car market in the 1990s. The video above shows off tuned examples of the Mazda RX-7 and Nissan 300ZX. Check out the clip below to remember the 1997 Honda CR-V, if you want to reminisce about something a little more utilitarian. The RX-7 and 300ZX were among the era's best Japanese sports cars, and these examples' suspension and engine overhauls gave them an extra boost. Peter Farrel Supercars tunes the Mazda, and the vibrant yellow paint and body kit make it look ready for an episode of Initial D. The updated powertrain stands up to the mean styling and gets the RX-7 to 60 miles per hour in 4.5 seconds. The Stillen 300ZX GTZ sports a giant wing, and new turbos take the output to 465 hp. It sprints to 60 in 4.9 seconds. The CR-V sits on the opposite end of the automotive spectrum as the tuned RX-7 and 300ZX, but it's even more important in a historical sense. The Honda (along with the Toyota RAV4 and others) was among the progenitors of today's mega-popular compact crossovers. These early examples set the foundation for offering buyers a utilitarian vehicle in a comfortable package with good fuel economy at an affordable price. The CR-V had some quirky charm, too, like the removable picnic table hidden in the cargo floor. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Honda, Volvo, Lincoln are North American Car, Utility and Truck of the Year
Mon, Jan 15 2018The Detroit Auto Show has officially kicked off, as it always does, with the announcement of the North American Car, Utility Vehicle and Truck of the Year winners. For 2018, those are the Honda Accord, Volvo XC60 and Lincoln Navigator, respectively. The Honda Accord beat out two other finalists, the Toyota Camry and the new Kia Stinger. The Accord stood out for its styling, drivability and standard equipment. The Volvo XC60 came out ahead of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Honda Odyssey minivan. It was chosen for its luxury, ride and value when equipped well. The Lincoln Navigator, a heavily updated model that remained true to the concept car on which it was based, beat the Ford Expedition, as well as the only pickup in the list, the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 (which was a finalist for Autoblog's own Technology of the Year Award). NACTOY juror Ron Sessions complimented the "more dramatic update" compared to the Expedition. "With its design now aligned with the Continental, the Navigator becomes an even more important image — and the profit-maker for Lincoln," he said. The NACTOY Awards have been around since 1994. A panel of 60 judges, all automotive journalists, whittle the list down to three finalists in each category before announcing the winners in January. The Utility Vehicle category was added for 2017.
