1992 Honda Civic Dx Hatchback 3-door 1.5l on 2040-cars

I have for your consideration a very clean 1992 Honda Civic DX hatchback auto. This car originates from Alabama and I acquired it in Illinois before I moved out here eight months ago. That being said this car has zero body or frame rust. The only rust I can even find on this car is on the underside of the drivers door and it is extremely light surface from a little water collecting on the runner. The paint is fading from being 20+ years old and their is some light peeling on the bumpers. The interior is a 7.5-8/10 with no rips tears or stains on any of the seats and a small stain on one of the rear floor mats. Everything works on the inside and the heat blows really hot. This car does not have a A/C compressor but one could be added on, it was like this from the factory. The motor compartment and internals are all very clean for their age. Now comes the mileage. The cluster currently in the car reads 238,xxx miles and is a replacement for the OE one that quit working. The owner before me explained this to me in detail and I have service records up to 145,000. So I would put this car at roughly 180-200k as a estimate on the fat side. I bought it a year ago and could not convince myself it had 200k+ on it for how solid and clean the whole car was and also how well it ran and drove. I wanted to be as honest as I could possibly be about this. Over the past year, 6000 miles to be exact I have replaced the following before driving the car 1000 miles out here:
-Front drive axles (CV's) -Drive axle seals -Tie rod ends(Moog) -Alignment done -Muffler(OE) -K&N open element cone filter on aftermarket intake tube -Kenwood Excelon CD deck with Ipod interface -Oil changed every 3K with Royal Purple 5W-30 and K&N oil filter( yes I did spend 60 dollars on oil changes) -Yakima roof rack with bike mount and powder hounds(not pictured). Keys and cores for everything Problems/fixes: -Drivers side door lock tab by handle on inside does not work. Door can still be locked from outside. Probably easy fix but I liked not being able to lock my keys in the car. -I removed the plastic on the gauge cluster because the speedometer needle likes to jump from time to time and needs pulled over the pin to be reset. The speedometer does work and I would advise putter another new cluster in which are available on eBay in the forty dollar range. -The instrumentation lights on the HVAC control do not light up. It never bothered me so I did not pursue a fix. -Tires are nearing the end of their useful life. This car speaks for itself and is a wonderful example of a older Honda and can get 40mpg if you drive the speed limit with no passengers. It does not leak a drop of anything, and does not smoke.It has a ton of life left and I have had zero issues with it, even in the brutal cold. This car is ready to go and I would not hesitate to drive it across the country again, it runs and shifts EXTREMELY STRONG. It has not been registered in Colorado yet and I have a clean Illinois title in hand ready for transfer. I also have all of the original manuals and documentation that came with the car and two factory keys. 1800 OBO.I know what I want out of it and will entertain reasonable offers. Honda planning sub-NSX S2000 successor
Tue, 13 May 2014Nine years separated the arrival of the original Acura NSX and the Honda S2000. By that time, the NSX was closer to the end of its fifteen-year production cycle than it was to its beginning. The latest word has it that not only is Honda planning a successor to the S2000, but it's not about to wait that long after the new NSX arrives before it's rolled out.
While the S2000 was a front-mid-engined roadster, its successor will, according to the latest from Auto Express (which we are taking with a grain of salt), be a mid-engined coupe - closer, in other words, to the NSX than the S2000. Power would come from a more potent version of the 2.0-liter turbo four developed for the upcoming new Civic Type R, possibly as part of a hybrid system derived from Honda's upcoming Formula One powertain to develop over 400 horsepower.
Whether the new sports car would revive the S2000 nameplate, and whether it would wear the Honda or Acura badge in the United States, remain to be seen. As does its potential production site: while the previous S2000 was built at the same Takanezawa plant in Tochigi as the original NSX, the new NSX will be built at the new Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio. The new S660 roadster, meanwhile, is set to be assembled at the same Yachiyo plant in Yokkaichi as the original Honda Beat.
Junkyard Gem: 2000 Honda Passport 4WD
Sun, Nov 20 2022The suits at American Honda Motor Company must have spent the bulk of the 1990s tearing out their hair in frustration as their rivals raked in big money from the sales of ever-more-profitable SUVs, even as American car shoppers lost interest in sedans and hatchbacks. Oh, sure, the Civic-based CR-V appeared here for the 1997 model year and sold well enough, but the lack of a larger SUV pained Honda more with each passing year. With the Acura MDX and Honda Pilot not ready for showrooms until the 2001 and 2002 model years, respectively, some stopgap had to be found. Isuzu stepped up and made a deal with Honda: the Rodeo would get Honda badges and become the Passport, while the Trooper would show up in Acura showrooms with SLX badges (for the 1994 and 1995 model years, respectively). Here's one of those Passports, found in a Denver-area self-service yard. Things got even weirder in the Isuzu/Honda world around the turn of the century, with the Honda Odyssey getting Isuzu badges and being sold as the Oasis. Fast-forward to 2009, and the only Isuzu-badged vehicles available new here were rebadged Chevrolets: the I-Series pickup (Chevy Colorado) and the Ascender (Chevy Trailblazer). The Passport name has some interesting American Honda history, stretching back to the first Honda vehicle sold here (and the biggest-selling motor vehicle in human history): the Super Cub. American Honda Motor Company couldn't use the Super Cub name on our shores, because Piper Aircraft had been selling a small plane called the Super Cub since 1949, so the motorcycle was called the Honda 50 over here. Eventually, this bike got a 70cc engine and became the Honda C70 Passport, sales of which continued through the middle 1980s. That means the Passports sitting in your local Honda dealership right now got their name from a one-cylinder motorcycle. General Motors has a Passport connection as well; when GM created the Geo brand to sell rebadged Isuzus, Suzukis, and Toyotas in the United States, it created a marque called Passport to sell the Daewoo LeMans as the Optima in Canada (all the other vehicles sold by Passport dealers were Isuzus). So, Honda's need to offer SUVs in its American dealerships led to an arrangement with GM-connected Isuzu to sell these trucks with a model name bearing links to both companies. So much history in the junkyard! Just as Geo-badged Toyota Corollas (mostly) got Delco radios, so did the Passport get Honda radios.

I'm senior editor Greg Migliore and this is your Autoblog Minute Weekly Recap. FCA reached a tentative labor agreement with UAW leadership. The major focus of the new deal reportedly includes: the eventual elimination of the two-tier pay scale [00:00:30] and pooling worker health care. Now that a leadership agreement is in place, the deal will be sent to FCA's rank-and-file. FCA has about 36,000 hourly employees. We got a first look at the interior and exterior of the 10th-generation Civic. Honda expects the new sedan to dominate the C-segment when it hits dealerships later this fall. Civic coupe, five-door hatchback, Si and Type R will all come later. The 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show is in the books and there was a lot of news to get excited about. [00:01:00] Porsche introduced a fully electric concept car in the Mission E. If they make this car, Porsche could give Tesla nightmares. We also saw SUVs from Jaguar and Bentley. There were two beautiful Italian convertibles from Ferrari and Lamborghini. Meanwhile, Mercedes introduced a concept of their own in the IAA - a vehicle that experiments with adaptable aerodynamics.
