Reason for sale: Finishing up grad school, and bought a new vehicle. I've been driving this car every single day for the past 3 years with zero isues. It is, after all, a Honda Civic in the end.
MANY pictures here: http://smg.photobucket.com/user/todaparty/library/EM1%20For%20Sale?page=1
I have a very detailed and specific thread detailing different purchasing scenarios here: http://hondamarketplace.com/showthread.php?t=3132151
Basically it is a 2000 Honda Civic Si with a motor from a Japanese version Integra Type-R (1.8L DOHC VTEC, 11:1 compression ratio) along with the 4.785 final drive ratio, 5-speed, limited slip differential transmission from the Japanese ITR.
It has been tuned on real engine management, the motor is internally stock with a K&N drop-in filter, a Toda racing REPLICA header w/ 2.5" collector to a 200 CPSI high flow cat to 2.5" stainless tubing, magnaflow resonator, and a REAL Hytech exhaust for a high flowing, super quiet system.
It has upgraded suspension, an Integra Type-R Front brake rotor/caliper conversion, and a bunch of other small minor modifcations to basically make the car a Type-R in Si clothing. Very fun little car that gets 28-30 MPG COMBINED. I also tuned it to run on 89 octane (lol I'm cheap) - it can be easily adjusted to run 91 or 93 octane.
EVERYTHING works. Power windows, sunroof, power locks, power steering, air conditioning, heating, the blower motor, blinkers, brake lights, head lights, reverse lights, dash lights, dash light dimmer switch, the radio (Alpine CDE-133BT).... like I said, I drove this car every day with zero issues. It will come with the original factory B16 ECU so you can pass your state's inspection. I also have the OEM catalytic converter if you need it for some reason.
Please see the linked thread above for all the details. This is a quick summary for Ebay purposes.
The starting and Buy it Now prices in this auction DO NOT INCLUDE the following items (but they can be included for an additional cost)
- Bi-Xenon retrofit headlights (car will come with original factory headlights)
- European Accord Steering Wheel w/ gold "H" emblem (car will come with original factory steering wheel and airbag)
- Volk Te-37 wheels (car will come with acura integra 15x6 4x100 "sunflower" wheels and serviceable tires)

Honda is replacing airbags nationwide, not just in humid states
Tue, 18 Nov 2014With a Senate hearing scheduled for November 20, the investigations into the exploding airbag inflators from automotive supplier Takata are just beginning. Honda is among the automakers most affected by the problem with over five million vehicles potentially in need of repair in the US, according to the last estimate from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. But the actual number being fixed could be even higher because the company is also working with worried owners nationwide.
According to the Associated Press, Honda is willing to perform the repair for concerned owners of affected vehicles who live outside of the high-humidity regions that the recall covers. In a letter to customers online, the company explains that it wants to work with them to fix the problem and even provide temporary transportation, if necessary.
"This is not a new thing, and it does not represent us including vehicles outside of those regions within the recall or investigatory campaigns. It is a part of our ongoing efforts to work with our customers individually to resolve their concerns, even if their vehicle is not technically part of one of those actions," said Honda spokesperson Chris Martin to Autoblog via email.
This P-51 Mustang replica flies with a Honda Odyssey engine
Tue, Sep 15 2015The legendary WWII P-51 Mustang fighter ranks right up there with hot dogs, baseball, and apple pie. So sought after is the original Mustang that one of the 200 or so airworthy P-51s left will run you at least $1.5 million. That's why there's a thriving replica market with three-quarter-scale aircraft like this Titan T-51D Mustang. It looks every bit the part until you crack open the cowling and find not a howling Rolls-Royce Merlin V12, but the V6 from the Honda Odyssey minivan. To be precise, the Titan T-51 uses Honda's J35A6 60-degree SOHC V6. It's one version of the ubiquitous J-series engine, found in the Odyssey minivan as well as the Honda Pilot. Other variations of the Ohio-built powerplant pull duty in the Accord and several Acura models. But why a Honda V6? Titan Aircraft president John Williams says the company began production of the T-51 with a Rotax 912F four-cylinder boxer engine, but its 100-horsepower output wasn't cutting it for customers. They wanted "more power and more noise." So the search began for a lightweight, easily-packaged V6, leading first to a Suzuki 2.5-liter with 160 hp. "Our guys still wanted more power, so the next choice was either going to be a Chevy V8 or a Honda V6. The Honda is a little bit lighter and from a V6 standpoint, it's a brute. In the Honda Pilot or the Odyssey, it's rated from 240 to 250 horsepower," Williams explains. Converting the V6 to an airworthy powerplant requires minor modifications, such as swapping the stock engine control unit (ECU) for an aftermarket one. Car-specific parameters for things like anti-knock sensing and rev limiters simply don't work well in the air. "You don't want your timing retarded when you're trying to clear a tree," Williams chuckles. With a hotter Acura camshaft and exhaust modifications, the naturally aspirated Honda engine makes about 300 hp in the T-51D, Williams says. The V6 mates to a custom gearbox designed to yield a 2-to-1 reduction for the propeller. Rather than the original Mustang's crankcase oil, the Titan's nosecase uses automotive gear oil. And while the engine can obviously use regular unleaded from any gas station, it runs well on the 100-octane low-lead aviation fuel commonly found at airports. The T-51 is a kit airplane that buyers can build themselves for less than $100,000. And like most kit manufacturers, Titan offers a builder-assistance program to help with assembly.
