1988 Honda Crx Si ** 1.6l, 5 Spd, Sunroof, Am/fm Cd, Black on 2040-cars
Merced, California, United States
1988 BLACK HONDA CRX SI (1.6L, 5 Speed, Sunroof, AM/FM CD) I am the 6th owner of this reliable car. I bought it with 239K Miles and now it has 325K miles. It's true what they say, these older CRX's just keep running. It's been good to me and I try my best to be good to it. This car has the seatbelts on the rear post which is very HARD to FIND, (Not on the doors)! No Leaks, burns about a quart of oil a month. Needs TLC, would make a great project car. I REPLACED: Timing Belt w/ Seals & Serpentine Belt Water Pump & Hoses Inner & Outer Tie Rods Front Bushings Front & Rear Brakes Front & Rear Rotors Front & Rear Struts Muffler & Catalyst Converter Regular Tune-ups w/ Synthetic Oil & Use EKG Plugs Kenwood CD Player (Detachable Face) & (4) Kicker Speakers Oil Pan w/ Seal Radiator & Fuel Filter Air & Water Sensors Direct-Fit Seat Covers New Sunroof w/ hard to find Brackets Pull out Antenna Blackout Window Vents Tags & Registration are Current & has a CLEAR TITLE.
The BAD: The only thing is the car shakes when you press on the brake pedal and it pulls to the right so I think it's coming from the driver side front tire. The interior seats are torn which is the reason I have seat covers and the rear cargo cover is missing. The door panels need to be re-upholstered. Overall this car is an EXCELLENT COMMUTER, I will not ship or deliver car. This car is also ready for local pick-up. No WARRANTY is Stated or Implied! |

NHTSA probing 400,000 Infiniti, Honda vehicles over steering faults
Tue, 11 Nov 2014As many as 391,000 vehicles from Infiniti and Honda may eventually need to be recalled as a result of two, separately announced Preliminary Evaluations from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to ascertain the scope of the potential safety hazards.
The larger investigation has NHTSA looking into the 2013 Honda Accord because of 24 reports from drivers alleging total loss of power steering or a sudden increase in necessary effort to turn the vehicle. In four cases, the problem is reportedly linked to crashes, with all of them occurring at less than 30 miles per hour. According to the claims, 13 people also reported seeing a warning message during the failure. Turning off the car and restarting it would fix the issue in some cases. If a recall is necessary, it could affect an estimated 374,000 Accords.
The second investigation is much smaller in scope. The safety agency is investigating the 2008 Infiniti EX35 after two complaints of the steering wheel shaft separating, and the vehicle losing the ability to steer. Both reports allege that the steering became loose when driving and then completely failed once the vehicle was stopped. A recall for the problem would affect an estimated 17,000 vehicles. Scroll down to read NHTSA's reports on both Preliminary Evaluations.
Honda scores big in Automobile Advertising of the Year Awards [w/videos]
Wed, 15 Jan 2014This year the Detroit Auto Show didn't just celebrate the automobile, it celebrated how we find out about the automobile, too. Partnering The One Club, this year introduced the 2014 One Show Automobile Advertising of the Year Award to Cobo Hall, celebrating winners in five different categories of advertising: broadcast television, online, interactive, experiential, and print/outdoor. Winners in those categories were judged by 50 creative directors and journalists, while a Public Choice category was chosen from among nearly 20,000 online votes.
Honda walked off with three of the six awards, its Hands spot taking Broadcast honors, its Sound of Honda getting the Online category and Illusions winning Public Choice. Hyundai made the grade in Interactive with Driveway Decision Maker, Fiat captured Print/Outdoor with its "Letters" ad, and Toyota's Tundra Endeavor Campaign spot and BMW's A Window into the Near Future were co-winners for Experiential.
You can watch all of the press release and winning videos below or check out all of the finalists, announced last month, for a refresher.
Is today's Honda Accord cheaper than it was back in 1989?
Wed, 24 Sep 2014Whether you're shopping at the grocery story or on a car lot, everything seems to be getting more expensive these days. However, when all the factors are considered, that might be more an issue of perception than of fact. The American Public Media radio show Marketplace recently tackled the question whether modern vehicles were actually more expensive once you factored in important variables like inflation and cost of ownership. The result was pretty surprising.
For its example, Marketplace chose the Honda Accord, because in August, it was one of the bestselling vehicles in the US, with 51,075 of them sold. Winding back the clock 25 years to 1989, Honda's cheapest Accord cost $11,770, and that money bought you a stripped-out car with 98 horsepower, a manual gearbox, no air conditioning and hand-crank windows.
Fast-forward to present day, and a basic Accord starts at around $22,000 and gives buyers significantly more features, including a 185-hp engine, dual-zone climate control, Bluetooth, cruise control, more space, refinement and much better safety. By Marketplace's math, when just figuring for inflation, that modern Honda would cost about $11,500 a quarter century ago, despite all of that extra equipment. But that's just one factor. Scroll down to listen to the full report for an explanation of how cost of ownership figures into the mix, and whether it throws all of the calculations off.
