1988 Honda CRX HF 5 speed manual transmission ------------------------------------------------- Engine: Good condition Starts up every time mileage 192,694 miles pretty clean, some small leaks by the bottom oil pan I believe recent tune up to include: new spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor, oxygen sensor, after market air intake, new radiator, radiator support ------------------------------------------------- Exterior: Good condition Paint needs new clear in some spots (see pics) Black roof Some dents I bought the car and the previous owner said the front had been hit - he replaced the hood, bumper and passenger fender The pics show the inside of the passenger side fender and inside passenger side of the hood. You can see the inner well was not fixed and the fender was put over it I believe the passenger rear had a dent and it was pulled out as you can kindda tell if you see the side of the car I took pics of the bottom also, I didn't see any damage to undercarriage on the car Car drives pretty straight though All glass is pretty good Passenger side mirror does have a replacement mirror - I would recommend replacing this mirror though as it's a little blurry ------------------------------------------------- Interior: Really good condition Seats are in awesome condition Carpet is good in the passenger area, it does have a small tear on the bottom of the gas (guess from resting foot) Rear cargo area was recently redone, along with the rear speaker covers The door panels are okay. Top was redone in blue, the bottoms of the panels do have some wear and tear Head liner in good condition Aftermarket CD player AC controls are all there - although the AC is not working, blows out cool, not cold Heater does work All the lights and everything seem to be in good working order ------------------------------------------------- Other: Rides pretty good All stock suspension Aftermarket cross drilled rotors in the front (brand unknown) Aftermarket front corner clear lights OEM headlights and tail lights Full aftermarket exhaust - pretty much from the bottom of the OEM headers to the back. I think it's 2.25 inch piping Aftermarket Mugen style rims - believe the brand is Rota. 15" wheels with Kumho tires in okay shape. They have a lot of tread on them but not sure on age Solid ride Shifts smooth thru all gears ------------------------------------------------- The check engine light does come on at times but not all the time. I tried to read the ECU but couldn't figure it out - which is why I changed the Oxygen Sensor thinking that was the most common problem on these cars. I don't see a difference in ride quality or engine performance with and without the light on. Sure it's nothing...probably just a sensor. It blinks one time repeatedly. ------------------------------------------------- As all used cars...SOLD AS IS, WHERE IS I have about 60 pics of the car from all angles so feel free to ask for more if you need them. Feel free to contact me to set up a test drive or ask any questions you might have Title is clean and under my name...have Bill of Sale ready for new owner Payment is due in FULL within 7 days of the auction end

Who can really claim first mass-produced fuel cell vehicle delivery in US?
Thu, Jun 19 2014Last month, Hyundai said that the initial deliveries of the Tucson Fuel Cell vehicles in California meant that, "For the first time, retail consumers can now put a mass-produced, federally-certified hydrogen fuel cell vehicle in their driveways." But try telling that to Jon Spallino. In 2005, Honda leased a hydrogen fuel cell FCX, a small hatchback, to the Spallino family (as far as we know, he parked it in his driveway). The company did the same thing again in 2008 with the FCX Clarity, a sleek new design based on the FCX Concept, and others signed for the H2 ride as well, including celebrities. No matter how you slice it, Honda has been in the fuel cell delivery market for almost a decade now. Just look at this. Or this. Or this. Oh, and other automakers (General Motors in Project Driveway in 2006 and Mercdes-Benz with the F-Cell in 2010, for example) have delivered fuel cell vehicles in the US as part of short-term test programs. But let's get back to Hyundai's claim. There's little question that the first delivery of a "fuel cell vehicle for the US market" has already taken place (and they were federally certified, too), which means that the debate revolves around the definition of mass-produced and whether "mass production" is about a number or about the process? Let's investigate below. First, lets review Honda's bona fides. We can start with the official version of Honda's fuel cell history, which is missing the pertinent detail that Honda build the Clarity on a dedicated assembly line and established a small network of three dealerships to lease the FCX Clarity in 2008. All of the FCX Clarity vehicles in customer hands in the US were leased through these dealerships. Sure, Honda started with hand-built stacks in its hydrogen vehicles, but went to automated control of some parts and components with series production. "It is good to see others doing today what we've been doing since 2008" – Steve Ellis, Honda Or, as Honda's Steve Elllis put it to AutoblogGreen regarding Hyundai's fuel cell deliveries: "This was exactly as prescribed by the creation of the California Fuel Cell Partnership. It's the very essence of 'co-op-itition.' We at Honda, as do many others, continue to push forward on many technologies, both the battery and the fuel cell. And society is the beneficiary." Then he added, "It is good to see others doing today what we've been doing since 2008." Now, how does Hyundai compare?
Acura NSX bodywork to be sheathed in zirconium e-coat, fewer paint layers
Tue, 05 Aug 2014Automakers make halo cars to drum up excitement and show off what they can do, but there's more to it than that. Advanced platforms allow a company's engineers to experiment with all sorts of technologies. And in the case of the upcoming new Acura NSX, that includes new paint processes.
Speaking with Autoline in this video interview, Honda's North American Senior VP Jon Minto talked about an innovative zirconium e-coat which it's applying to the new NSX. Unlike some experimental paints developed for Formula One, however, this coating is not designed to minimize drag or enhance cooling: it's designed to be more environmentally friendly.
It's one of a few measures which Honda is implementing on the NSX before expanding it to more accessible models, along with another process that uses fewer coats to reduce energy consumption by 40 percent. Watch the interview with Autoline host John McElroy right here.
Ariel to revive motorcycle business with debut at Goodwood
Sat, 07 Jun 2014If you're a parent, the name Ariel might conjure up one of the Disney princesses, but auto enthusiasts know it as a hardcore, boutique British sports car maker. Before being revived to make the skeletal Atom, the business was also a British motorcycle company best known for its four-cylinder bikes. Now, the modern iteration is looking to the past with plans to unveil its own cycle at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed from June 26-29.
Given Ariel's cars, you might expect an absolutely minimalist motorcycle weighing practically nothing. However, according to its boss speaking to Visor Down, there's no point in trying to build another racer; that market is sewn up. Instead, it's developing a performance cruiser with a more tailored design approach. Buyers can select a variety of different components to adapt the cycle to their style. It shouldn't be lacking for too much speed though; power comes from the 1,237cc V4 engine from the Honda VFR1200F with around 170 horsepower on tap, and it also offers the VFR's six-speed, dual-clutch gearbox as an option.
Ariel admitted that bike on display at Goodwood would just be a test mule and didn't say when the production version would be ready. It seems this idea has been a long time coming, though - we reported in 2011 that the company was working on a bespoke motorcycle with multiple design options around a Honda engine. Pricing at the time was rumored to sit around 20,000 pounds.
