1986 Honda CRX, Excellent driving and riding , handling . Exterior has rust on only 2 spots on car and that is surface rust below tail lights(see pictures).Car needs painting and has several little dents and scratches. The driver side door has some cracks in bottom plastic(see picture also). Front header panel started to crack(picture) so i drilled a small hole to stop it from getting bigger. This would be a very easy car to paint with little work. The interior is excellent with new upholstery on seats, headliner and sunvisiors. New carpet under rear hatch. Dash and door panels are excellent. Carpet in front could use replacing but does not look too bad. New am/fm cd player with new speakers in doors and new speakers in rear. Front window is a little weathered but side glass and back is excellent with no scratches, also windows are tinted and tint is in excellent shape. All guages work as they should except clock and that is not needed( the radio has one displayed). Blinkers, horn ,wipers, lights work perfectly. Tires are like new(installed 10,000 miles ago) wheels are from 87 crx si. Motor was rebuilt at 226,000 miles (timing belt broke and bent valves decided to do everything) and has 350,000 now. At 315,000 miles the timing belt was replaced along with tensioner, water pump, thermostat, raditor hoses, raditor cap, heater hoses and electric fan( just electric motor not blades). The motor has a very little oil leak which i think is the oil cap( might put on new gasket soon). Drivers front side wheel bearing was making a noise last year so i replaced the wheel bearings in all 4 wheels. Heater, fan and all a/c and heater controls work properly. Heater puts out hot air and the air conditioner blows cold . I put 4 cans of freon in it last year before i discovered a leak in the high pressure line that was rubbing against the hood release and putting a hole in the metal part. I replaced the line with a new one but there still is a very slow leak. Might help to put sealer in which i will if car is not sold. Transmission and clutch shifts perfectly but shakes a very little if you dont take off right (pressure plate is slightly warped probably, but this does not cause any problems). Last year i replaced front and rear brakes, rear wheel cylinders and brake hoses front and back. I have kept this car in excellent condition and replaced everything when needed. It is driven to work every week approx. 250 miles and would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. A very, very reliable car that gets over 40mpg all day long. I have 5 cars (one is 87 crxsi) so i dont really need this car anymore. If you have any questions feel free to call Wayne at (706)755-8808. Please do not bid if your feedback is less than 5 without contacting me first. Thanks for looking

Honda Fit loses Recommended rating from Consumer Reports
Thu, 23 Jan 2014Thanks to its poor performance in the most recent round of Insurance Institute for Highway Safety crash testing, where it received the lowest overall score in the small-overlap test, Consumer Reports has bumped the Honda Fit from its "Recommended" list. When a car gets bumped from the magazine's coveted ranks, it's usually cause for concern. This is not one of those times.
As there is a new Fit barreling towards dealerships for an on-sale date this spring, we wouldn't pay too much credence to the current car's demotion. It's expected that the next-generation Fit should pass the test with flying colors, as CR is quick to point out that newer Hondas have traditionally done very well in the tricky small-overlap crash testing.
Of the subcompact cars tested by the IIHS, only the Kia Rio, which netted a "Marginal" score overall, is a Consumer Reports "Recommended" vehicle.
Suppliers love Toyota and Honda: Why that matters to you
Mon, May 15 2017You might think that a survey of automotive suppliers and their relationship with OEMs is the automotive equivalent of nerd prom. In some ways that's what the North American Automotive OEM-Supplier Working Relations Index (WRI) is. The study, the 17th annual conducted by Planning Perspectives Inc., is based on input from 652 salespeople from 108 Tier One suppliers, or, PPI points out, 40 of the top 50 automotive suppliers in North America. Suppliers to General Motors, Ford, FCA, Toyota, Honda, and Nissan. But the results have consequences in terms of tens of millions of dollars for OEMs - and in the quality, technology, and cost of the next vehicle you buy. There are a couple of ways to look at the results of the WRI. One is, "So what else is new?" And the other is, "Damn! How did that happen?" The study looks at five relationship areas — OEM Supplier Relationship; OEM Communication; OEM Help; OEM Hindrance; Supplier Profit Opportunity — within six purchasing areas — Body-in-White; Chassis; Electrical/Electronics; Exterior; Interior; Powertrain. In the overall rankings, Toyota is on top for the 15 th time in 17 years, with a score of 328. Honda, the only company to best Toyota (in 2009 and 2010), comes in second, at 319. Those two companies, explains John Henke, president of PPI, have collaborative working arrangements with colleagues and suppliers alike built into the very fabric of their cultures. This, however, is not a situation where one can readily conclude it is about "Japanese companies," because the third company with headquarters on the island of Honshu, Nissan, came in dead last. This is the "How did that happen?" portion. The Nissan score of 203 puts it 125 points behind Toyota. There hasn't been a number that low since the then-Chrysler Corp. scored 187 in 2010, when the company was clawing its way out of the recession. Clearly, the suppliers don't feel particularly engaged by the buyers at Nissan. Henke explains that whether a company does well or not on the WRI is rather simple. All people do things based on what they're measured on. "If you're measured on taking 10% out of your annual buy, you immediately know how to do it. But if you're also measured on improving relations, suddenly there is a new dynamic as to what you can do to achieve both.
Automotive April Fools' joke roundup [w/videos]
Mon, 01 Apr 2013Happy April, everyone. And we all know what this first day of the month means: April Fools' Day. Today is a national holiday for pranksters with the Internet acting as a serious enabler, and it's always fun to see what kind of vivid imaginations exist out there in the automotive world. The abundance of fake news gets a little old as the day rolls on, but we did manage to get in a few chuckles thanks to a handful of major automakers and automotive news outlets that got into the pranking spirit this year
Some of our favorites this year includes Subaru showing what happens when you combine a bunch of rumors, a Corvette some may have already thought was a joke or Honda providing some in-car innovation circa the late 1980s. Honestly, we're still waiting for official confirmation from Mitsubishi that the recently introduced 2014 Mirage is an elaborate April Fools' joke using a failed design intended for the 1995 Geo Metro. We dug up as much "official" OEM foolishness we could find, as well as some of our other favorites, and posted them all below.
