2001 White Honda CR-V with 231,600 miles.  This car is either a project or for parts.

Has received regular maintenance, and oil changes.  Was (and still is) running with zero problems before I recently got rear-ended (which caused me to rear-end the car in front of me).

Damage from rear ending is shown in pictures, and includes:
  •  Both front airbags deployed.
  •  The entire rear of the car was crunched forward creating dents above both wheel wells.
  • Rear passenger door will not open.
  • Rear driver side door will open, but will not seal shut completely.
  • Rear passenger wheel well is pushed forward into the tire.
  • The back bumper and spare tire show minor damage.
  • All glass remains unbroken, and the upper glass portion of the trunk opens with no problem, but the trunk door will not open.
  • The muffler pipe is damaged.
  • Front bumper and grill show minor damage.
  • Rear passenger door bar partially broken off.
  • Rear portion of frame and/or rear axle are likely bent.

The car has a clean title that is in my name and possession, and has never been in an accident before this recent one.

In May 2012 I had custom ARC Audio speakers installed front and back, the products installed can be seen at the following links:

I also had an MP3 hook up installed in the car that allows a direct connection.

The speakers sound great and came with a 3 year warranty that I still have and will give with the title of the car.  This listing also includes the stock speakers that came with the car.

Before the accident, I would've put this car solidly in the "Good" category in regards to condition, landing it at a value of $5,500 according to Kelly Blue Book, so taking that and the $500 in customized audio equipment  into account, I'm hoping that my listed price is a fair one.  That being said, I'm looking to get rid of this car as soon as possible, so if you're seriously interested and can convince me that I'm asking too much, please message me, I am willing to hear you out.

I would also be more than happy to take an add additional pictures of anything specific that you want to see, just let me know.

This car is NOT legally drive-able.  The car runs great, but as the air bags are deployed and the rear passenger tire is dragging on the wheel well, it is not legal to drive.

This car is being sold AS IS, as a project or for parts.

Watch Obama kick the ball around with Honda's latest ASIMO

Sat, 26 Apr 2014

Bend it like Obama. The Commander-In-Chief was just in Japan for a state visit, and his trip took him to a science expo, where he played a bit of soccer with Honda's latest ASIMO robot. The entire scene was captured on video, and showed the innovative robot as it ran, hopped and kicked a soccer ball to a bemused President Obama.
ASIMO had a number of upgrades ahead of its meeting with the president, which were originally shown off to the crowds at the 2014 New York Auto Show. These tweaks to the 110-pound robot included a number of changes in both its upper and lower body to improve stability, speed and balance. Although not shown in this video, Honda claims the lower-body upgrades allow ASIMO to climb faster and more smoothly than ever before. Its hands are more dexterous and expressive, as well, while new sensors give it an even better sense of touch.
Before ASIMO smoothly and effortlessly jogged across the stage, the robot and the President had a brief chat. According to The Wall Street Journal, Obama later told students at the Miraikan Science Expo in Tokyo that ASIMO and the other robots at the fair "were a little scary. They were too lifelike."

Honda sending two NSX racers and new EV concept to Pikes Peak

Fri, Mar 11 2016

Honda is always good for a few interesting Pikes Peak entries. In 2015, Acura supplied a 2017 NSX prototype for pace-car duty. This time around, two NSXes will compete alongside a reconfigured version of the company's four-motor electric racecar. Those aren't the 2016 entries above. The one on the right is last year's pace car and the one on the left is a first-gen NSX that did the hillclimb the past few years. The 2016 cars haven't been unveiled yet, but we know that one will be in the Time Attack 2 Production class, which is mostly stock with the addition of items like a roll cage, and the other will be in Time Attack 1. TA 1 allows modifications to the powertrain, additional aero aids, suspension changes, and other tweaks, so expect to see a lot more power and a big wing on the back. The cars will be driven by James and Nick Robinson, brothers who work for Honda R&D in Ohio. Honda will use a version of the four-motor electric powertrain from its 2015 CR-Z Exhibition class entry in a new EV. (We got to drive a non-race tune of this setup in Japan last year.) The 2016 version, which will wear a different body, moves to the Electric - Electric Modified class of last year's frontrunners. We're told this car is aiming for an overall win at the 2016 race; the CR-Z took 11th place overall in 2015. The EV will again be driven by Tetsuya Yamano, a Japanese Super GT driver. Oh, and there will of course be a factory entry or two from Honda's Powersports division. Honda engineer Keith Steidl will ride a 2015 TRX1000 ATV in the Pikes Peak Challenge - Exhibition Powersport class. In the past, Honda has fielded plenty of other neat stuff in the Race to the Clouds. In 2012, it ran an NSX fitted with a twin-turbo V6 from an LMP2 car, and the 2013 race saw the very practical 532-horsepower turbocharged Odyssey minivan join the Exhibition class. The 2016 race marks the Pikes Peak hillclimb's 100th anniversary (but not the 101st running since competition took some breaks back in wartime). We're looking forward to June already. 2013 Honda Civic

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

Lather, Rinse, Repeat
On some level, it's hard to blame Honda for the strategy it took with its new-for-2012 Civic. Executives looked at the key players on the market as the model was being developed, soaked in the growing global economic malaise, and decided that if they wanted to make decent money on their small car, they'd have to find creative ways to take cost out of its build. In light of the financial crisis, consumers and critics would surely understand some belt-tightening in order to secure the company's legendary reliability, resale value and ease-of-use, right?
So Honda took a pass on expensive new technology - more complex transmissions, forced induction, active aero, and so on. And it also substituted in some cheaper interior materials, skimped on sound deadening, creature comforts and found lots of little ways to save money. Surely in a segment where the frankly ancient and moth-eaten Toyota Corolla has consistently ranked among the sales leaders, nobody would care, eh?
