Wards names its 2015 10 Best Interiors list
Fri, Apr 17 2015Wards Automotive has named the winners of its 10 Best Interior awards, covering a wide but affordable array of vehicles. Where last year's list contained two six-figure vehicles, including the $372,800 Rolls-Royce Wraith, this year's is, well, a whole lot more reasonable. The publication lists the Mercedes-Benz C400 at $65,000 (which seems off), making it the most expensive vehicle here. That said, we'd argue that the entire C-Class line deserves to make this year's list, owing to its varied and high-quality selection of materials. The other vehicle to break the $60,000 mark, meanwhile, is the $60,675 Ford F-150 King Ranch, which has 327,000 pounds of leather lining its interior. Only one other German car, the BMW i3, and one other pickup truck, the GMC Canyon, managed to make this year's list. 2015 Honda Fit pricing leak shows slight increases across the board
Wed, 02 Apr 2014Pricing for the next-generation 2015 Honda Fit has has been circulating online after a poster going by the username ChrisAP1 on tlxforums.com released the figures. None of these prices include the destination charge, which was not specified (the outgoing model's charge was $790).
According to the leak, the new Fit is being offered in three trim levels - LX, EX and EX-L. A base LX model with a six-speed manual starts at $15,525, with the new CVT running $800 more at $16,325. All cars come standard with air conditioning, cruise control, keyless entry, Bluetooth and LED taillights.
A six-speed EX will run buyers $17,435 or $18,235 for the automatic. Upgrading to this trim nets buyers a power moonroof, a proximity key, paddle shifters on CVT models, Honda's LaneWatch system, fog lights and a 7-inch touchscreen radio. Finally, the EX-L trim is only available with the CVT for $19,800 or with added navigation for $20,800. It adds heated leather seats, a leather shift knob and steering wheel, plus turn signals in the sideview mirrors.
Senna's McLaren drives Honda up the wall
Wed, 11 Sep 2013Honda is getting excited for its imminent return to Formula One with McLaren. So excited, in fact, that it got its new/old friends from Woking to loan it one of its old F1 cars. But not just any old F1 car...
On display at the Honda stand in Frankfurt this year is the 1988 McLaren MP4-4 in which the legendary Ayrton Senna drove to fifteen out of sixteen grands prix that season to take the championship in spectacular style.
Honda provided the engine for that car, a 1.5-liter turbo V6 with upwards of 600 horsepower to propel less than 1,200 lbs. Of course this being a static display car, it's likely been stripped of its engine, gearbox and most other internal mechanical components. But that doesn't make the sight of it any less memorable.
