"AS IS" - Buyer acknowledges that the automobile contemplated by this transaction is a used automobile and is offered for purchase in its current state, or, "as is." Seller makes no guarantee as to condition, mileage, year, model or any other circumstance regarding the automobile. Buyer acknowledges that the actual condition of the automobile may vary from any photographs, statements or representations made by Seller. Buyer represents that he/she had an opportunity to inspect the automobile prior to purchase and acknowledges that Seller has no responsibility for any defects or repairs, regardless of any representations (oral or otherwise) made by Seller. Furthermore, Buyer acknowledges that Seller will not provide a warranty of any type with regard to the automobile and, therefore, depending on the status of the manufacturers warranty, there may be no warranty of any type covering this automobile. 3. Purchase - Buyer is deemed to have purchased the automobile upon satisfaction of each of the following events: (1) Buyer and Seller have executed this Sales Agreement; (2) Seller has issued the registration (either Pennsylvania or in transit registration); (3) Buyer has executed the "Buyers Guide"; (4) Buyer has paid, in full, for the automobile; and, (5) Buyer has taken possession of the automobile. Buyer shall be deemed to have taken possession of the automobile, and therefore, any and all risks associated with possession, at the time the automobile is removed from Sellers premises, either by Buyer, Buyers agent or shipper (regardless or whether Seller arranged shipping on Buyers behalf). 4. Limited Warranty - THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WRITTEN OR ORAL, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE. Choice of Law, Jurisdiction & Venue - The transaction to which this document relates shall be governed by the substantive laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In the event of any dispute between the parties arising out of this transaction, the parties agree and consent that the exclusive jurisdiction and venue for the resolution of such dispute shall be Pennsylvanias Court of Common Pleas, Montgomery County, or the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. 8. Notices - No notice or other communication is sufficient to affect any rights, remedies or obligations of either party unless the notice or communication is in writing and (as elected by the party giving the notice or communication) is (i) personally delivered, (ii) transmitted by facsimile (with a receipt acknowledgment), (iii) transmitted by electronic computer mail, (iv) transmitted by a recognized courier service or (v) mailed in registered or certified form, to the party to which notice or communication is being given. Acura organizes new business division to confront falling sedan sales
Wed, 26 Feb 2014Honda and Acura North America have announced a major restructuring of operations in hopes of turning around Acura's flagging business. For 2013, sales for Acura's sedans dropped 10.4 percent, while its CUV sales grew by 21 percent. The newly formed Acura Business Planning Office will attempt to right the ship.
As part of the restructuring, Acura is promoting Erik Berkman from President of Honda R&D Americas to lead a new division called the Acura Business Planning Office. Berkman has been with Honda since 1982 and led development of the 2006 Accord. He was also the first US engineer to head North American research and development and has been head of Honda Performance Development since 2008. "Erik's appointment to the new Acura Business Planning Office is a clear indication of the high priority we place on Acura," said Honda spokesperson Jeffrey Smith to Automotive News.
American Honda Motor President and CEO Tetsuo Iwamura is also going to be working to improve the business. He has been elected chairman of American Honda's board, and has simultaneously taken the new position of Corporate Brand Officer to improve the management of the company's brands.
NSX, S660, and a 4-motor CR-Z EV that goes like hell
Tue, Oct 27 2015AutoblogGreen Editor-in-Chief Sebastian Blanco was my road dog while visiting Honda's R&D center in Tochigi. Over the course of a long day of briefings, driving demonstrations, and a variety of strange-flavored candies, we saw quite a lot of what the company is planning for the next generation and beyond. Of course, Sebastian and I see the world through very different eyes. So, while he was busy getting details about the FCV Clarity successor, and asking tough questions about electrification (in other words, the important stuff), I was fixating on a tiny, two-seat sports car that will never come to America. Oh, there was an NSX, too. Honda's pre-Tokyo Motor Show meeting really did have plenty to offer for all kinds of auto enthusiasts, be they focused on fast driving or environmentally friendly powertrains. Seb's attendance let me focus on the stuff that's great for the former, while he wrote up high points of the latter. View 15 Photos S660 I joke about salivating over the S660, but honestly I was at least as excited to take a few laps in Honda's Beat encore, as I was to sample the Acura supercar. Conditions for the test drive weren't ideal, however. Two laps of a four-kilometer banked oval is not exactly nirvana for a 1,800-pound, 63-horsepower roadster. Still, I folded all six feet and five inches of my body behind the tiny wheel determined to wring it out. The immersion of the driving experience was enough to make it feel fast, at least. I shifted up just before redline in first gear with the last quarter of the pit lane rollout lane still in front of me. The 658cc inline-three buzzed like a mad thing behind my ear, vastly more stirring than you'd expect while traveling about 30 miles per hour. The S660 is limited to just around 87 mph, but the immersion of the driving experience (note: I was over the windscreen from the forehead up) was enough to make it feel fast, at least. Even after just a few laps, and precious little steering, I could tell that everything I grew up loving about Honda was in play here. The six-speed manual offered tight, quick throws, the engine seemed happiest over 5,000 rpm, and the car moved over the earth with direct action and a feeling of lightness. Sure proof that you don't need high performance – the S600 runs to 60 mph in about 13 seconds – to build a driver's car. I could have used 200 miles more, and some mountain roads, to really enjoy the roadster (though I would have wanted a hat).
Honda builds custom Civic Si based on Forza Motorsport design contest
Fri, 07 Feb 2014Forza Motorsport games are known for a few things, one of which is the extensive range of customization options available for each car. Gamers have complete control over the look and size of wheels, window tints, paints and decals, as well as various different finishes. For Forza Motorsport 5, players even have access to carbon fiber, gold, chrome, brass and camouflaged finishes.
To celebrate this, Honda held a little contest among gamers that challenged them to prepare a custom Civic Si. The winner would see their design applied to an actual car and shown at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show. This is that car. Designed by Tiffany Labedz, it was one of 170 entries in the Forza Motorsport Civic Si Design Contest. It took the title, with 17,000 votes from members of the Forza community.
