For sale is a very-well maintained 2005 CR-V SE with 85,000 miles, and was purchased new with almost every option available.  This vehicles is in excellent condition for its age.

This vehicles features:

* All-wheel drive
* 5-speed automatic transmission (2005 is the first year Honda offered this transmission in the CR-V, and ONLY the SE models have it)
* Air conditioning
* Power windows and locks
* 6-CD changer, cassette player(!), and subwoofer
* Leather seats in very good condition
* Heated front seats
* Cruise control
* Power sunroof
* Rear-window defroster and wiper
* Roof luggage rack
* All weather floor mats and cargo bay liner (which have all kept the interior in very good condition)
* Bicycle rack that attaches to the back gate (this was an aftermarket purchase, but only useful only for this car so I'm including it in the sale)

Recent repairs include (receipts can be provided):

* Vehicles has been recently detailed
* Paintless dent removal has been performed in the last month which removed almost all flaws with the car's body.  Vehicles was then buffed which removed the majority of dings and scratches.
* AC compressor replaced within last month
* At 78,000 miles replaced front struts, lower control arm bushings, catalytic convertor heat shield, front brake pads (including resurfacing of rotors), and performed 4-wheel alignment.
* Rear brake replacement and rotor resurfacing was performed at 60,000 miles
* Oil has been changed every 3,000 miles
* 30,000 and 60,000 major maintenance service performed by dealer.

Here is a list of problems with the vehicle.  No used vehicle is perfect and I want to be completely honest about any issues that exist.
* There is a small chip (included in photos) in the front windshield.  This can probably be repaired but I have not bothered since the chip has been there for many years and has never grown.
* The spare tire cover is very worn.  This is one of the hard covers that Honda used for a while, and I will not hide the fact that it's gotten pretty beat up over the years.  It does its job, but it's not pretty.
* The two front tires should be replaced soon.  For the right offer I will have this done.
* Front bumper on the passenger side has some scratches that could not be buffed out (shown in pictures)
* Same for the rear bumper on the driver's side (shown in pictures)
* Very minor blemishes on the sides and hood of the car, but the buffing took care of almost all of these.
* Wheels have a bit of "rim rash" from many years of parallel parking.  Please check photos.
* Side mirrors have some paint damage.  See photos.
* Leather on steering wheel is beginning to wear, and the Honda emblem in the center of the steering wheel has lost some of its chrome plating.

Please contact me with any questions.  For the moment I am limiting this auction to local pickup only.

Honda MC-? will use solar-powered chargers in 'micro' EV tests

Mon, Feb 3 2014

Honda is envisioning what it calls a CO2-free society and, not surprisingly, it's a rather sunny one, in one Japanese city, at least. The Japanese automaker is kicking off a test program with the micro-electric-vehicle that will use power generated via photovoltaic energy collected and stored at EV charging stations. Yes, the big old sun will power those little-bitty MC-? cars. MC-? is shorthand for "Micro Computer Beta" and the car is certainly an appropriate vehicle for these tests. The car is 98 inches long (about eight inches shorter than a Smart ForTwo) and has a 43-mile-per-hour top speed as well as an electric motor that delivers a meager eight horsepower. The car is designed to meet Europe's quadricycle regulations and has a 50-mile single-charge range. No word on if or when it'll go into production, of course, but Honda and Toshiba are working with Japan's Miyakojima City on the project, with Toshiba responsible for building three solar-powered EV-charging stations. The Japanese automaker unveiled the latest incarnation of the 1+1 tandem-seating-arrangement MC-? last fall. You can see our "Quick Spin" impressions of the model here and read Honda's press release below. Honda Begins Experimental Test-driving of MC-? Micro-sized EV Using Renewable Energy TOKYO, Japan, January 28, 2014 - Jointly with Miyakojima City and Toshiba Corporation, Honda Motor Co., Ltd. began experimental test-driving of the MC-?, Honda's micro-sized EV, using photovoltaic (PV) energy as part of the Miyakojima City Small-sized Electromotive Mobility Project*1. Through this experimental program, Honda will operate an environmentally-responsible micro-sized EV using renewable energy, and work together with the local community to explore the possibility of a CO2-free society. In November 2013, Honda began separate field tests jointly conducted with Kumamoto Prefecture, Saitama City and Miyakojima City using the MC-?. For the field tests in Miyakojima City, as a part of the initiative as an environmentally-responsible model city, the feasibility of the introduction and utilization of small-sized electromotive mobility products and electricity supply facilities are being verified. For this particular driving experiment in the city using renewable energy, the MC-? will be charged from three new PV recharging stations newly built by Toshiba.

Honda revamps F1 engine for McLaren

Thu, Aug 6 2015

Things haven't been going smoothly for Honda since returning to Formula One, and the Japanese automaker says the challenge has been greater than it anticipated. But after a stronger showing at the recent Hungarian Grand Prix, Honda says its reliability issues are behind it and is working on introducing a revamped engine for the second half of the season. "I am confident our reliability problems are now behind us, which means we can turn our attention to increasing power," Honda racing chief Yasuhisa Arai told Autosport. "After the summer shutdown our plan is to apply a new-spec engine using some of our remaining seven tokens." The "tokens" to which Arai refers are a way for the FIA to limit engine development. The power units are broken down into 66 such tokens in the regulations, and each engine supplier can change up to 32 of them throughout the season. The allowance was at first afforded only to returning suppliers Mercedes, Ferrari, and Renault, but Honda succeeded in convincing the FIA to allow it the same leeway. Honda has been spending its development tokens on fixing reliability issues, but will shift its focus to improving performance. The McLaren team that Honda powers has only gotten both of its cars to the finish line at two out of 10 races this season. Most of those problems came down to the new engine package. That's compared to only two retirements the team suffered last season, when it was still under Mercedes power, and none the year before. In Hungary, however, the team not only got both cars to the finish line, but placed both in the points for the first time this season. "The sport has changed immensely since the McLaren-Honda 'glory days'," said Arai. "The current technology is much more sophisticated, and it is tough to make a good racing car. We knew it wouldn't be easy, but perhaps we didn't imagine it would be this hard." The Japanese manufacturer is now spending the summer break developing its power unit. Many of those changes are expected to be rolled out in time for the Belgian Grand Prix later this month, with the rest to follow in the ensuing races. Beyond reliability, engine performance is particularly important for the high-speed races at Spa and Monza, where the subsequent Italian Grand Prix will be held early next month. Related Video:

Honda to present HR-V, updated Acura ILX at LA show

Mon, 20 Oct 2014

Honda has already showcased its new Fit-based crossover around the world. We've seen it in Tokyo wearing the Vezel name and we've seen it in Paris in 'prototype' form. We've even seen photos of the US-spec version. We just haven't seen that North American model in the flesh, but that'll all be fixed next month at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
That's where Honda will, at long last, unveil the US version of its new HR-V subcompact. The Japanese automaker hasn't told us much else, save to say that the HR-V will, of course, slot in below the CR-V in US showrooms. It'll also feature the company's lauded Magic Seat system, "which allows for multiple seating configurations and the ability to fold the second row seat completely flat for added cargo space."
Alongside the HR-V, Honda's luxury division will also be showcasing a revised version of its ILX sedan at the LA show as well. Acura hasn't revealed precise details of what revisions are in store for its smallest sedan - or a more detailed photo than the teaser inset at right - but it is promising "a comprehensive update that include a potent new powertrain, more forceful, sporty exterior styling and a substantially upgraded interior design."
