1998 Honda CRV 5-Speed AWD SUV Bull Bar, Roof Rack, Wheels ETC.

Up for bid is my 1998 Honda CRV EX 5 Speed SUV.  Vehicle is in good running condition and has slightly over 155,300 miles.  Car has been well maintained throughout its life.  Upon purchasing this vehicle I changed radiator, complete front strut assembly, air filter, front sway bar bushings and endlinks (front and rear), and changed radio and speakers.  Radio is equipped with USB and auxiliary inputs.  I also installed an brand new in box OEM HONDA roof rack, and a western Front bull bar with Hella lights (lights not installed but have them new in package). Also put on brand new Cragar Black D Widow 15x7" rims with brand new general 225 70 15 tires and 8 mm spacers all around.

Vehicle has never left me stranded and starts right up.  Clutch grabs great and the transmission shifts smoothly throughout all gears.  I was informed car was a one owner car before me and I bought it in Pennsylvania. I was also informed timing belt and valve lash was adjusted at 142,000 was told it was on carfax but i never ran one. Car does not burn any oil or miss a beat. Car has a new starter, battery and it appears, exhaust and rear subframe has been replaced also. Everything works, cruise, ac, power windows, locks, mirros, heat etc.

Interior is very clean, never smoked in.

Cons: has slight rust on bottom of driver and passenger door and there is rust on the rear quarter panels. I removed the passenger side fender gaurd recently because it was starting to dangle.
There is a slight noise coming from the suspension on bumps, I believe it is the outer tie-rods.

Feedback greater than 5 required before bidding unless contacted prior to bidding.  $500 Dollar Deposit due within 72 Hours of auction end.  You can contact me at 330-720-5382 if you have any questions.

Thanks and Good Luck.

Honda recalling 405K vehicles over airbag issue

Thu, 19 Sep 2013

Honda is in hot water due to an airbag glitch that is causing it to recall 405,400 vehicles. According to the campaign, the supplemental restraints might fire for no apparent reason. 342,000 of the affected vehicles are 2003 and 2004 Odyssey minivans, which gels with a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation we reported on in June.
Joining the Odyssey in the recall is the Acura MDX, with 63,400 units covered from the 2003 model year. Unlike the van, though, the MDX's recall covers Japan and Australia, in addition to the US and Canada. Both vehicles are suffering from an airbag control unit that is prone to malfunction when exposed to electrical noise, a condition that can cause the airbags to deploy without warning. Although no crashes have been reported in such scenarios, there have been some injuries typical of airbag deployment - abrasions and such.
Honda will be mailing recall notices to owners near the end of October, asking them to bring their vehicles into the dealership for installation of an electrical noise filter. The repair will take about an hour and be free of charge. Scroll down for the official announcement from Honda.

Watch two Acura NSXs scorch the Nurburgring

Sat, Aug 12 2017

Some intrepid spy shooter captured these two Acura NSXs blasting around the Nurburgring. Without being there in person with a decibel meter, it's hard to tell if they're necessarily louder than stock cars, but they sure seem quick. Why test the cars now, when they've been on sale for a while now? Rumors are swirling that this could be a hardcore variant. It's unclear if Honda would call it a Type R, but a midlife refresh with a bit more power or a special limited edition with some extra kick wouldn't be unprecedented. The original NSX had several such models, and recent sports cars like the S2000 had low-volume editions, like the Club Racer variant in the United States and the Type S in Japan. Watch the video and draw your own conclusions about what this is or isn't. One thing's for sure: It's not a pure-EV variant. In other things recent about the NSX, we learned last month that an NSX GT3 non-hybrid race car version will go on sale soon. And here's our first drive of the US Acura-badged NSX from back in 2015. And here's another video from inside the cockpit during an open track day back in June. 2015 Honda CR-V performs poorly in Swedish AWD test [w/video]

Fri, 24 Oct 2014

Swedish auto magazine Teknikens Värld has never been afraid to call out automakers when a vehicle fails one of its battery of examinations. Its famous Moose Test recently caught the Porsche Macan out, and a few years ago, there was a protracted argument between Teknikens Värld and Jeep over the performance of a Grand Cherokee in that evaluation.
This time, the 2015 Honda CR-V is raising the magazine's hackles, but it has nothing to do with avoiding a giant mammal. Snow is obviously an issue in Sweden, and Teknikens Värld has a test that challenges all-wheel drive systems in low-traction settings. On a slanted surface, the Swedes put the vehicles' front wheels on rollers with no traction and demands the rears accelerate away. The Honda couldn't do it. Teknikens Värld claims that it initially found the same result last year from the European CR-V, but Honda Sweden put out a software upgrade correcting the behavior in the test. This year, the CUV went back to failing.
While that's the magazine's side, Honda Sweden doesn't see the test as fair. In a statement to Teknikens Värld, the company explains the way the CUV's all-wheel drive system works. It also claims that the test isn't simulating a realistic situation. "In real conditions, regardless of the surface, there is a certain amount of friction always available for both front and rear wheels," the announcement says. "A scenario like the roll test with such a high difference in grip between the front and the rear wheels is highly unlikely."
