1997 HONDA CRV CR-V 4-Door, AWD, Automatic, PW, PS, PDL, PM, Cruise, with 262,*** miles - Green with Grey interior.

Engine runs great with no noises and no smoke – Transmission shifts smooth. There are no known mechanical problems. Gas mileage is 25 - 35 MPG.

VA State Inspection good until 12/2014.
Clear Virginia Title -- zip 24153. **NOTE - Ebay says this has rebuilt title but I have a clear Virginia title and the NC title from when I bought it was also clear. Have to list it as rebuilt in order to satisfy Ebay.**

The body is solid with NO RUST – it does have some minor dents in the hood, front right fender, and right front door – see pics. The paint is good.

Tires are new, as well as new front brakes, new belts, and a new battery and an oil & filter change.

All power options work except cruise control. The A/C does not blow cold.

The interior is good but could stand some cleaning. Radio is original AM/FM with an add-on Honda CD player but the CD doesn’t work.

It is ready to drive anywhere!! I have driven it over 1500 miles in the last couple months with no problems.

**Feedback is low because I am using my stepfather's account to list this. My account is 'plumeasy' if you want to check my feedback - it is 2080 and I have been on Ebay since 1991.**

**I had an independent auto business for 25 years before my health went bad several years ago. I specialized in Hondas, Miatas, Mitsubishi/Dodge Ram 50 trucks, also Honda Motorcycles & Lawn mowers. Since I do not receive any disability, occasionally I find cars that I can check out and sell to people who need a good car. I am very upfront about any known problems and even though my health now prevents me doing much work on cars, I do know a lot about the ones I dealt in before and I have a good mechanic who I trust.

THERE IS NO WARRANTY WITH THIS VEHICLE - IT IS SOLD AS-IS, WHERE IS. I WILL NOT SHIP, BUT WILL GLADLY ASSIST YOUR SHIPPER. SHIPPING IS THE RESPONSIBILTY OF THE PURCHASER.

IF YOUR FEEDBACK RATING IS 5 OR LESS, OR IF YOU JUST JOINED EBAY IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS - YOU MUST EMAIL ME WITH VERIFIABLE CONTACT INFORMATION OR YOUR BID WILL BE CANCELLED.

I WILL NOT END THE AUCTION EARLY UNLESS THE 'BUY IT NOW' or IT IS SOLD LOCALLY.

Honda may recall up to 1M vehicles for airbag issue, following Toyota's lead

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

It seems Toyota won't be the only one recalling the faulty Takata airbag inflators for long. Honda insiders in Japan claim that the company is getting close to announcing its own worldwide campaign that would begin before the end of June.
Unnamed sources close to Honda in Japan tell Automotive News that the company is pursuing an internal investigation into possibly affected models and is working with Takata to gather more information. They claim that it could involve even more than the 1.14 million cars worldwide that the automaker covered under the first recall for the problem in April 2013, including 561,000 vehicles in the US.
Toyota jumpstarted this process last week when it recalled over 2 million cars worldwide, including 844,277 in the US. Soon after, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration began a preliminary evaluation into the issue following six reported incidents, and started assembling data about potentially affected models from Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Nissan, Chrysler. NHTSA also began investigating Takata itself.

Automotive April Fools' joke roundup [w/videos]

Mon, 01 Apr 2013

Happy April, everyone. And we all know what this first day of the month means: April Fools' Day. Today is a national holiday for pranksters with the Internet acting as a serious enabler, and it's always fun to see what kind of vivid imaginations exist out there in the automotive world. The abundance of fake news gets a little old as the day rolls on, but we did manage to get in a few chuckles thanks to a handful of major automakers and automotive news outlets that got into the pranking spirit this year
Some of our favorites this year includes Subaru showing what happens when you combine a bunch of rumors, a Corvette some may have already thought was a joke or Honda providing some in-car innovation circa the late 1980s. Honestly, we're still waiting for official confirmation from Mitsubishi that the recently introduced 2014 Mirage is an elaborate April Fools' joke using a failed design intended for the 1995 Geo Metro. We dug up as much "official" OEM foolishness we could find, as well as some of our other favorites, and posted them all below.

Honda exec says US market near capacity, could hurt subprime buyers

Thu, 21 Aug 2014

Is there a point in the US auto industry where companies should start considering the welfare of their customers ahead of selling more cars? American Honda Executive Vice President of Sales John Mendel thinks that level exists, and we may be getting very close to it.
According to Automotive News, Mendel believes that finding more customers in the market could require pursuing subprime buyers and offering longer-term loans. However, he refuses to use those tactics. While selling models this way can improve things briefly, the strategies hurt resale prices and lower vehicle profits over time. The company won't do "stupid things in the short-term that damage the person who bought yesterday," he said to Automotive News. "It's a very, very short-term tactic especially in the subprime area."
American Honda, which combines the Acura and Honda brands, has seen market share decline from 9.7 percent to 9.1 percent through July 2014, according to Automotive News, and Autoblog's By the Numbers stats showed it posted falling sales in five of the seven months with data this year. Though, Mendel claims that was partially because the company focused on retail sales over fleets. The delays of the launches for the Honda Fit and Acura TLX likely didn't help either.
