Translogic 189: 2015 LA Auto Show

Translogic host Jonathon Buckley gets all the details on BMW's 330e plug-in hybrid straight from BMW President of North America Ludwig Willisch. Then we get up-to-date on Honda's latest FCX Clarity hydrogen fuel cell car. We round out our tour with a stop at the Elio Motors booth for a look at their updated, three-wheel P5 concept and a chat with CEO Paul Elio. But first, we jump in a time machine at the Volvo booth to discuss Concept 26, an interpretation of how car interiors might evolve in the era of self-driving cars. "The reason why we talked about it as a time machine [is] because, really, Concept 26 is giving you back something that is so precious," explained Volvo senior director of design Tisha Johnson. Honda CB350 and cafe racer culture explored by Electric Federal
Sun, 20 Oct 2013The latest video from Electric Federal covers one of our favorite aspects of motorcycle culture - café racers. In an interview with Adam "Gasser" Gaspic, the owner of Gasser Customs, EF takes a look at the culture and one of Gasser's latest offerings, a hopped-up Honda CB350, called the Silver Bullet.
Gasser has gone all-out on the Silver Bullet, replacing some of the body parts with fiberglass and delivering more than a few upgrades to the rebuilt engine. The brakes and suspension of the smaller bike also get some attention, as do some of the bike's aesthetics. Besides the upgrades, there's just something to be said for the sleek, minimalist nature of the little Honda.
Naturally, the videography is gorgeous, and it's a great look at a kind of motorcycling that seems to be overlooked in the world of sport bikes and Harley-Davidson-style cruisers. Take a look below for the full video.
Honda CR-V spot delights with 'impossible' illusions
Thu, 24 Oct 2013Mind-blowing car commercials that employ optical illusions and jaw-clenching stunts instead of computer animation are becoming the norm these days, and everybody from Volvo Trucks to Forza Motorsport 5/McLaren are regular contributors to the growing trend. Honda joins the crowd in its latest European commercial for the CR-V 1.6 i-DTEC Diesel, and uses well-placed props and well-drawn imagery to trick viewers into seeing the "impossible."
The old-fashioned optical illusion is alive and well in Honda's "An Impossible, Made Possible" spot, so go ahead and watch it and the making-of video below.
