2006 Honda Accord EX-V6 2DR Coupe
I have been the sole owner of this car since it's purchase in June 2006. This car was purchased brand new and has been with me for 8 years. I have kept up with all yearly maintenance including oil changes, tire rotation, inspections, and wheel alignments. All documents come included with this car that were given to me when I purchased it. Recent repairs November 2012 - all 4 tires were replaced. All disc brakes were replaced. Left Inner tie rod was replaced. Wheel Alignment was done. January 2013 - Rock & pinion in steering was replaced. March 2013 - As part of a Honda recall the power steering feed hose kit was replaced at a Honda dealership. April 2013 - Brake Fluid Flush October 2013 - Wheel Alignment April 2014 - State Inspection passed, one tire installed due to bubble in old tire from harsh winter roads. Oil change. All oil changes from 2010 on have been with a full synthetic blend Accident This vehicle was involved in only one car accident in October 2010. This car was stopped and a moving car struck it on the drivers side. The vehicle was cosmetically repaired to factory settings by Honda. The accident caused the front wheel to not turn properly but was immediately repaired at Honda and has never had a problem in the four years following and has always had a successful wheel alignment report. There are also minor scratches on both bumpers but that's from parking in the city. All wheels have scuffs and scratches on them from parking to close to the curbs but this has never affected driving or handling. It has not occurred in many years as well. The middle console has a scratch in the back which is visible when sitting in the back seats. I would prefer to sell this as a pickup purchase only, of course paying through Paypal is accepted. Personal checks must wait 10 days to clear. Money orders are accepted as well but must be USPS money orders and must be verified day of sale. If you live outside PA and would like the car shipped to you then it is your responsibility to do so. If there are any pictures you wish to see that were not included please email me and I will send them to you or post them. Also, email me with any and all questions. As I have said, this car has been in my possession since it was purchased in 2006 brand new. The car runs great, has never given me any problems, is under 100,000 miles and will not need a tune up until then as well as being reported as a great year for Honda by Consumer Reports. I have taken very good care of this car and it has taken good care of me. |

NHTSA probing 400,000 Infiniti, Honda vehicles over steering faults
Tue, 11 Nov 2014As many as 391,000 vehicles from Infiniti and Honda may eventually need to be recalled as a result of two, separately announced Preliminary Evaluations from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to ascertain the scope of the potential safety hazards.
The larger investigation has NHTSA looking into the 2013 Honda Accord because of 24 reports from drivers alleging total loss of power steering or a sudden increase in necessary effort to turn the vehicle. In four cases, the problem is reportedly linked to crashes, with all of them occurring at less than 30 miles per hour. According to the claims, 13 people also reported seeing a warning message during the failure. Turning off the car and restarting it would fix the issue in some cases. If a recall is necessary, it could affect an estimated 374,000 Accords.
The second investigation is much smaller in scope. The safety agency is investigating the 2008 Infiniti EX35 after two complaints of the steering wheel shaft separating, and the vehicle losing the ability to steer. Both reports allege that the steering became loose when driving and then completely failed once the vehicle was stopped. A recall for the problem would affect an estimated 17,000 vehicles. Scroll down to read NHTSA's reports on both Preliminary Evaluations.
Honda accused of not reporting all airbag problems
Fri, 17 Oct 2014The Takata airbag recall that has afflicted a number of automakers may have just taken a very bad turn for Honda, which has already recalled over one million vehicles. Clarence Ditlow and the Center for Auto Safety have accused the Japanese manufacturer of failing to report two "injury-and-death" incidents. To determine just what happened, the company has initiated a third-party audit.
According to Bloomberg, CAS claims Honda failed to report fatalities in 2009 and 2013, a point Honda doesn't seem to contest, indicating that it didn't report so-called "verbal claims."
"It is our understanding that some manufacturers choose to include these types of verbal claims, and that these constitute the majority of the injury-and-death claims that they report to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration," the company told Bloomberg via email. "We believe this practice accounts for the vast majority of the difference between the total number of injury-and-death claims reported by Honda compared to certain other manufacturers."
Honda recalling small number of Accord, CR-V models
Thu, Mar 12 2015This latest recall may not be a very big one, but it does strike us as an important one. Issued by Honda, the recall affects the 2014-15 Accord (specifically those equipped with the four-cylinder engine) and the 2015 CR-V, but only 137 of them. Those 137 vehicles, however, will need to have their short blocks replaced. What is a short block, you ask? Nope, it's not a chopped-down version of a big block: it's the engine block itself plus all its internal components, but short of any appendages that make it run. (That'd be a long block.) The problem, according to the manufacturer's statement below, stems from bolts – specifically the connecting rod bolt – that may have been improperly torqued during assembly. There's a system that's supposed to check that, but Honda reports that it "may not have identified improperly torqued bolts in a specific group of engines." Hence the recall. Owners of those few vehicles affected can expect to hear from the manufacturer to arrange bringing their vehicle into their local dealership to have the engine replaced, free of charge. Statement by American Honda Regarding Connecting Rod Bolt Recall: 2014-2015 Honda Accord 4-cylinder; 2015 Honda CR-V Mar 9, 2015 - TORRANCE, Calif. - 137 model-year 2014-15 Accord 4-cylinder and 2015 CR-V vehicles affected in the U.S. - Engine short block will be replaced in affected vehicles, free of charge - No related crashes or injuries have been reported Honda will voluntarily recall 137 model-year 2014-2015 Accord 4-cylinder and 2015 CR-V vehicles in the United States to replace the engine short block, free of charge. During engine assembly, an automated system that verifies engine connecting rod bolt torque may not have identified improperly torqued bolts in a specific group of engines. An improperly torqued connecting rod bolt could come loose, leading to potential engine damage and stalling, which could contribute to a crash. No crashes or injuries have been reported related to this issue, which was discovered through a warranty claim review process. Honda is announcing this recall to encourage all owners of affected vehicles to take them to an authorized dealer as soon as they receive notification of this recall from Honda. Mailed notification to customers will begin in late-March. In addition, owners of these vehicles can determine if their vehicles require repair by going to www.recalls.honda.com or by calling (800) 999-1009, and selecting option 4.
