2004 Honda Accord Ex Sedan 4-door 3.0l - Needs Some Work on 2040-cars
Hopewell Junction, New York, United States
PLEASE READ ALL DISCLOSURES BELOW BEFORE BIDDING. (ADDITIONAL PICTURES BELOW SCROLL DOWN) I am an honest Ebay seller and up for auction is my personal one owner 2004 Honda Accord EX-L V6. THE CAR HAS SOME ISSUES that may or may not need to be addressed. There is no reserve and highest bid takes the car home along with decision to address any existing issues or drive it as is. DO NOT BID if you do not have the CASH or BANK CERTIFIED CHECK to complete the transaction. Any other form of payment will need to clear my bank account before I give up the title. $300 Paypal deposit due within 24 hours auction end and you must pick up the vehicle with full remaining payment within 7 days of auction end. Title is Clear NYS with one recorded lien and I have the letter from the bank showing the lien bing satisfied quite a few years back. THE BAD: 1) The car has 167,000 miles on it (still being driven around town so mileage may be +/- 200 miles of that number). It's USED with expected parking lot dents and dings scratches. I also tried to repaint the front end 2 yrs ago with DUPLI-color Nighthawk black pearl spay paint a few years ago as the car had front end stone chips and cracking from exposure to sun. It looks like crap now and could use a nice front end paint job as the existing front end paint does not match rest of the vehicle. AND ther is spot on front of hood with minor rust starting to show. SEE Pictures. 2) The engine's #5 cylinder had a spark plug come loose. This is a common problem on Honda v6's. We had to re-tap the spark plug threads and re-threaded with a TIME-SERT copper sleeve. Also replaced the #5 ignition coil. Car runs and idles fine...I have video of the car idling. (google timesert and honda v6 to read about common issue yourself) 3) When starting the car and on occasion while driving, there is a drone type noise present. It feels like a engine mount going bad or some other type of hum. I AM NOT SURE WHAT THE CAUSE IS and as such, this will be up to the winning bidder to decide whether to address (fix) or not. This may be a MAJOR issue or not, however, the car drives fine as is. 4) The ABS system light is on (Pictured). I brought it in to Friendly Honda in Poughkeepsie, NY when the car recently had it's power steering hose recall service performed and they diagnosed it as a bad drivers side seat belt harness. The car still passes NYS inspection, however the cost for the wiring harness, per the service manager is $185 and the seat belt buckle replacement is covered by Honda warranty. I would advise the new owner to have this addressed, however as I stated, the car will pass NYS inspection, as is. 5) The door on the storage cubby, in front of the shifter is broken and does not stay closed. It is stuck in the open position and that's fine by me, but you may want to fix this 6) The pasenger side sunvisor mirror has a broken cover. No need to replace, but want to disclose. 7) The car could use a good interior detail, the driver side seat has cracks in the leather and is understandably worn with 167K miles of use. The carpets and truck could use a good shampoo. I have vacuumed the interior. 8) Car has aftermarket Ipod adapter connector installed, but stopped working a few months ago. no time to fix it. The Good I have religiously maintained the engine and transmission of this car. Outside of the spark plug issue on the #5 cylinder, this car has been the best car I have ever owned and all minor maintenance was done by me. 1) Engine oil and filter changed every 5K miles with Mobil-1 fill synthetic 5W-20 in it since it had 10k miles on odometer 2) Transmission fluid has been drained and filled every 15K miles with OEM Honda ATF Fluid 3) Timing Belt and Spark plugs replaced at 105K miles, as recommended by Honda. The shop owner showed me the belt and it looked new at 105K, but it was replaced along with a new water pump installed. 4) Brake rotors and pads were replaced about 10K miles ago. I only drive highway and my brakes usually last 70-80K miles, so assume at least 50% life left. 5) NO ACCIDENTS - the car looks rough up front, but it is collision free. I have owned it since it had 7 miles on it and it's about 90% highway use... NY roads and salt did in the front end paint job. 6) Includes rear wing and fog lamp options installed by dealer. Spare tire was never used. 7) INCLUDES extra set of matching HONDA rims and tires. The spare set has the all seasons on it right now. I can help you swap it over from the winter that are on the car now. - The all seasons may have another 10k miles of thread left on them and the winter set is about 50% worn 8) Includes WORN but still useable beige weathertech floor mats for front driver and passenger side floor. THAT's it. What you see pictured is what you are bidding on. Please do not bid unless you are sure you are going to buy it. If you have any questions, please contact me via ebay or at 845-243-0060 BEFORE bidding. This is a great car for a mechanic or someone that is handy around cars to fix any existing issues. I am selling it as I have bought a new commuter car with better gas mileage to replace it Good luck...no reserve, and if you have less than 10 feedback, please contact me first with your name and number, before bidding. Otherwise your bid will be cancelled. Thanks |

Latest Honda promo film is a Never Ending Race against emissions
Sun, Feb 16 2014A new Honda promotional video shows clips of a hazy, smog-choked Los Angeles in the 1960s and 1970s, and then gives the company credit for its lead role in cutting vehicle-emissions by a factor of one thousand since 1970. Self-serving? Sure. Then again, this LA-native reporter born in 1970 can't help but be somewhat appreciative. The nearly five-minute video takes a tour through Honda history, showing the Japanese automaker using its experience designing race cars to help develop smaller engines such as its four-cylinder CVCC. An early proponent of California's Clean Air Act, Honda recounts its low-emissions history with the first production low-emission vehicle (the 1996 Civic) and the first production ultra-low-emission vehicle (the 1998 Accord), and says it's approaching "near zero emissions" for its new cars. For anyone keeping track, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) said late last year that Honda's 2013 model-year vehicles averaged an even 27 miles per gallon, and that's with a fairly limited number of hybrids and plug-ins sold. That number was up from its 26.6 mpg in 2012 and second only to Mazda's 27.5 mpg among the major automakers. The overall 2013 average was 24.0 mpg. Honda Civic Tourer sports forbidden facelift
Tue, 29 Jul 2014Following up on a sextet of spy photos from June, we now have another batch of images of the facelifted Euro-spec Honda Civic undergoing testing in the United Kingdom. There's a bit more sheetmetal to this particular prototype, though, as our spy photographers have caught the upcoming Tourer model (pronounced "wagon" among us Yanks).
Like the hatchback we showed you last month, the new Tourer benefits from the same set of styling tweaks inspired by the Civic Type R Concept from March's Geneva Motor Show. That means it boasts a revised front fascia, albeit with a more heavily camouflaged version of the grille shown in last month's photos. It's a similar story below, where the intakes on this long-roof model wear more disguise, yet look to be virtually identical to what we've already seen.
While the headlights still look to be a straight lift from last month's car, the more upright nature of the Tourer's tailgate demands a more subdued character. Gone are the thin, curvy LED taillights, and in their place sit significantly more substantial units (with conventional bulbs), although they boast none of the design chutzpah shown on our last round of spy photos. Our spies claim LED taillights will be available, noting that they simply aren't fitted to this particular prototype, a distinction that suggests this is a lower-end model.
Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado, Toyota Tundra flunk IIHS headlight test
Tue, Oct 25 2016The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety put pickup truck headlights to the test and found that the majority of them were equipped with subpar units. The 2017 Honda Ridgeline was the only truck to earn a rating of "good." The large pickup truck test was comprised of the: 2016 to 2017 GMC Sierra, 2017 Nissan Titan, 2016 Ram 1500, 2016 to 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, 2016 to 2017 Ford F-150, and 2016 to 2017 Toyota Tundra. The Sierra's headlights earned a rating of "acceptable," the headlights found on the Titan and Ram 1500 were found to be "marginal," and the ones on the Silverado, F-150, and Tundra were rated as "poor." IIHS claims the F-150 was the most disappointing out of the large pickup trucks as both its halogen and optional LED headlights failed to provide adequate visibility during testing. The Ridgeline (which earned a "good rating"), is usually considered a midsize or small truck, though IIHS included it in the field of large pickups. The headlights on the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado, 2016 GMC Canyon, 2016 Nissan Frontier, and 2016 to 2017 Toyota Tacoma, which made up the small pickup truck group, all earned a rating of "poor." The IIHS claimed the Colorado had the worst headlights of any truck that was tested, as the base vehicle's units were only able to illuminate up to 123 feet in front of the car. The Ridgeline's headlights, for reference, were able to illuminate up to 358 feet in front of the vehicle. To conduct its test, the IIHS utilizes a special tool to measure how far light is projected out of the headlights in different driving situations. The trucks' headlights were tested in a straight line and in corners, while vehicles with high-beam assist were given extra praise. The headlights on the pickup trucks also mimic the testing that was done on small SUVs and cars earlier this year. Next year, automakers will need to fit their vehicles with headlights that earn a rating of either good or acceptable to earn the IIHS Top Safety Pick+. Related Video:
