Selling my pride and joy 1997 Honda Accord 5 speed. This car is a rare EX-L 5 speed model with leather seats. I am 2nd owner and originally purchased this car from my brother where he bought this car new in 97.

Now for the details on the car. I will post all the good, along with what needs work.

Car has had an H22a in it since 2000. Motor was replaced about a year ago and the drag turbo kit was also installed at the same time. Car has been sitting ever since. Never got around to finishing the project and now deciding to get rid of it and let someone else finish her up.

Use the buy it now feature and I will toss in a built H22A head with a stage 2 port polish, Ferrea ss valves, Ferrea dual valve springs, aem cam gears. Cams are the only thing stock. I will include the 345cc injectors, intake manifold, throttle body "stock."

Here is a list of the car's modifications:

JDM H22A
DSM 450cc injectors. Pressure tested rebuilt with flow chart and new screen and gasket for Honda.

The car does need some work, so take this on if your looking for a one of a kind Accord, but have the time to work on it. Here is some of the work it needs.

The car does have a leaking power steering pump. Also I used a oil pan gasket from advanced auto which I believe is causing a small oil leak. I recommend to replace with an OEM Honda Prelude oil pan gasket. Car also needs for the a/c compressor to be replaced.

I been an eBay member for the last 13 year and sold 2 other vehicles here and do not like to sell something and not be honest. I'd prefer to sell something I worked on and spent my hard earned money to help someone else out and have them take over one of my favorite cars ever. I also still have the original sticker for the car and booklet somewhere. I will try my hardest to search for it. Also I will include any other parts I can find for this car I have in my garage and attic.

On Mar-25-14 at 02:28:00 PDT, seller added the following information:

Final Updates on car I forgot to mention. Car abs light is on because I wasn't sure if the abs system is bad, or if its a bad relay. So I removed the relay and car brakes fine, just no abs. Also Radiator fan needs to be wired back in, fan works fine.. just havent gotten around to doing it. Last thing, HID kit needs a new ballast or bulb, not sure which one is out.

I never got around to getting final dyno numbers because I haven't finished everything I wanted before driving the car. I will also include the new manual timing belt tentioner kit I purchased for the motor to eliminate the hydraulic tentioner. I will also include new valve cover gaskets and battery mount incase you want to move it back to the front.

Honda recalling 405K vehicles over airbag issue

Thu, 19 Sep 2013

Honda is in hot water due to an airbag glitch that is causing it to recall 405,400 vehicles. According to the campaign, the supplemental restraints might fire for no apparent reason. 342,000 of the affected vehicles are 2003 and 2004 Odyssey minivans, which gels with a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation we reported on in June.
Joining the Odyssey in the recall is the Acura MDX, with 63,400 units covered from the 2003 model year. Unlike the van, though, the MDX's recall covers Japan and Australia, in addition to the US and Canada. Both vehicles are suffering from an airbag control unit that is prone to malfunction when exposed to electrical noise, a condition that can cause the airbags to deploy without warning. Although no crashes have been reported in such scenarios, there have been some injuries typical of airbag deployment - abrasions and such.
Honda will be mailing recall notices to owners near the end of October, asking them to bring their vehicles into the dealership for installation of an electrical noise filter. The repair will take about an hour and be free of charge. Scroll down for the official announcement from Honda.

Ford tumbles to second worst in Consumer Reports reliability survey, list dominated by Japanese [w/video]

Mon, 29 Oct 2012

It's no secret that MyFord Touch has had its share of problems since being introduced, but the most recent reliability survey from Consumer Reports shows just how much this infotainment system has affected Ford. Just two years ago, the automaker was in the top 10 for the institute's reliability rankings, but since then, it has tumbled to the second-lowest rung just above dead-last Jaguar. In addition to MyFord Touch, CR also attributes a handful of new products that have had issues right out of the gate.
Compiled from 1.2 million subscriber surveys, this year's auto reliability survey heavily favors Japanese automakers, with eight of the 10 spots hailing from Japan. Toyota brands grabbed the top three spots (Scion, Toyota and Lexus - in that order) with Mazda, Subaru, Honda and Acura filling the next four spots. The only non-Asian automaker cracking the top 10 was Audi at number eight.
Audi climbed a total of 18 spots from last year, and Cadillac and GMC round out this year's top gainers breaking into the top 15. Helping Cadillac's upward movement, the CTS Coupe was named the most reliable domestic car. Lincoln, Volvo and Chrysler join Ford on this year's biggest loser list.

American motorcycle brands most satisfying, Japanese most reliable, says Consumer Reports

Fri, Apr 10 2015

Consumer Reports started tracking motorcycle reliability last year through its regular reader survey, just like the magazine's well-known auto guide. For the 2015 edition, CR now has data on over 12,300 bikes, compared to 4,680 in 2014, and the extra info means it can include more brands, like Suzuki, Triumph and Can-Am, to the list. However, the final results remain largely the same. As with last year, Japanese bikes are the best choice for buyers who prioritize reliability. Yamaha comes out on top yet again and is followed by Suzuki, Kawasaki and Honda. Victory and Harley-Davidson hold the middle of the list, and the European cycles from Triumph, Ducati and BMW sit at the bottom. The major outlier in this regional distinction is the Can-Am Spyder from Canada's Bombardier Recreational Products that comes in dead last in the dependability survey. Still, even the most dependable model is occasionally going to break, and the average repair bill across all brands is $342, according to CR's readers. Kawasakis are the cheapest to keep on the road at a median of $269 for fixes, versus BMW as the most expensive at $455. Through all of the companies, electrical gremlins are the most common issue, causing 24 percent of problems, but faults with the cooling system, pistons or transmission are the smallest concerns at 4 percent each. While Japanese cycles might be the easiest to keep on the road, they aren't the most beloved by riders. In CR's gauge of satisfaction, the Americans reign supreme. Victory owners love their bikes the most with 80 percent reporting that they would buy another. Harley riders are known for having a close bond to the company's models, and the brand comes in second with 72 percent. Finally, Honda rounds out the top three at 70 percent.
